On 15th dec 2019. I and my family were traveling for a pilgrimage to velankanni, in chennai and had books a return journey cab through makemytrip for which i had to pay them rs 9659/-. I was then given the name & number of the cab driver. Since my flight was delayed, i called up the cab driver mr madhavan form mumbai airport & informed him that our flight was delayed by 30 minutes, hence we would meet him at 1:30 am, for which the cab driver agreed to be there at the airport.
After landing at chennai domestic airport called up the cab driver continually for 1/2 hour but the cab driver did not respond nor pick up the phone. We even tried calling him from different mobiles but he would not respond. Finally i called up the help line of makemytrip and informed them of our problem, your representative also tried calling the cab driver but the cab driver did not response. Finally i was informed by makemytrip representative that the booking will be cancelled and money would be refunded back to me, since the travel journey was approximately 7 to 8 hours i requested the makemytrip representative to send me another cab as it was late night/early morning and i was traveling with my family consisting of 2 ladies & 2 gents. I could not trust the local cab drivers who were pestering us to hire their cabs to velankanni.
Since the representative of makemytrip denied to send us a replacement for the cab, we had to look out for other sources. Hence, we hired another pre-paid meter taxi for which we had to pay rs 13, 000/-. Of which i have attached the receipt of the taxi fare that i have paid.
I now demand that makemytrip pays me this full fare of rs 13, 000/- for all the mental torchers i & my family had to face at the airport and spoil my pilgrimage plans & journey to velankanni.
Please reply to my query within 5 days or i have no choice but to go to the consumer court and register a case against your company, calming for this compensation.
