I booked a hotel on 23rd February for 4 nights stay from 24th January 2024 to 28th January 2024. I made my booking through Make My Trip and paid the full amount. I got a confirmation voucher with Booking Id: NH[protected] / PNR: [protected]. I called the hotel same night who confirmed my booking after verifying my booking ID.
I made this booking well in advance for attending a conference on these dates in Cochin. I predicted that if I delayed my booking I may not be able to get a good hotel close to the conference venue ( Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty). I predicted that it may cost me four to five times of ordinary charges by delaying my booking. Hence I shopped around online and finally booked for hotel Luminara in Cochin for these dates and confirmed.
On June 26th I received a letter from the hotel saying that they are fully sold out on those days and there is no room availability for me. Later I called the hotel, who said that it is not their fault and asked me to contact Make my Trip.
I called MMT, initially they agreed to solve the issue but later said that they can’t succeed to retain the booking and forced me to get a refund. But I denied a refund and requested to find an alternative hotel close to the venue of equally good one. Though they refused initially but after a big fight they accepted to offer an alternative hotel. Initially they offered PGS Vedantha hotel and other 2 hotels. Ultimately I accepted PGS Vedantha hotel.
But later they called me saying that booking Vedantha hotel will cost them a lot and offered my either cheaper quality hotels or hotels that are too far from the venue and I denied those offers. I have attached booking confirmation voucher and hotels offered received by whatsapp.
I am just asking for a retrieval of the original Luminara Hotel or at least Hotel PGS Vedantha hotel to be booked by MMT and I don’t want to pay any extra cost.
