I recently received an email dated 15th October informing me that my flight AI-9416 (Mumbai–Bhubaneswar) on 11 November 2025 has been canceled due to operational reasons. However, when I checked my booking on MakeMyTrip, there is no cancellation reflected for this flight, which has created a great deal of confusion.
I had booked a round trip from Bhubaneswar (BBI) to Dammam (DMM), Saudi Arabia, and back to Bhubaneswar via connecting flights through Mumbai. My return journey was scheduled for 10 November 2025 — first Dammam to Mumbai, and then Mumbai to Bhubaneswar (AI-9416).
This sudden cancellation is extremely inconvenient and unacceptable, as it disrupts my international travel plans and I have already made other non-refundable arrangements. I have also tried reaching out to your customer care from Saudi Arabia, but unfortunately, I have not received any proper assistance.
Kindly clarify the following points urgently:
Is my flight AI-9416 truly canceled, or is this an error notification?
If canceled, what alternative arrangements can be made for my travel from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar on the same day (10 or 11 November)?
Since the booking was made through MakeMyTrip, should I coordinate the rebooking or refund through them, or will Air India Express handle it directly?
I request your immediate attention and resolution to this matter, as my travel date is approaching and I need to finalize my itinerary at the earliest.
