I am writing to you to raise an issue about Name Correction in international air tickets which is booked via MakeMyTrip
We have booked a ticket from MakeMyTrip (22 Jun 2022) having PNR J69FMX, WEAACF from New Delhi to Kamloops, BC Canada. In our passport there is no Surname. While booking ticket we have discussed from MakeMyTrip Ludhiana, PB via phone call what information do we need to enter in First Name and Last Name. They told us to enter Full name repeat in First Name and Last Name. Therefore, we have booked the ticket with the same process.
After that we had confirmed from British Airways and WestJet Airways and they told us the name is not according to their airline policy. There should be title in First Name and Full (Given) Name should be in Last Name.
On the day of booking we have raised that concern with MakeMyTrip. At that time they said us it is correct and even in their website/mobile app it is showing the name is as per airlines policy, however, it is not correct according to British / WestJet airways.
Firstly, MakeMyTrip told us to provide the remarks from WestJet airways to provide authority to British Airways to correct the Name and WestJet do not have any issue for the same. They have raised the remarked to British Airways.
We have raised the 2nd Name correction request on 2 July 2022 (Still In Progress) REF:[protected]
After that MakeMyTrip raised the concern with their higher management and we are getting 24-48 hours waiting message from them from last 2-3 weeks. We clearly mentioned in our email the it is getting delayed from MakeMyTrip and they would be responsible for any kind of charges (cancellation fees/current fares of airlines). I've attached screenshot for the same.
Lastly, we again discussed the same issue with British Airways and they told us ticket is booked from third party (MakeMyTrip) so only MakeMyTrip can change/correct the name from their end via trade/travel agent line. I've attached the recording of the British Airways for the same.
