Hello Ma'am/Sir, I was trying to use the feature "Lock Price and Pay Later" on your website, and I got to know from my friend is that the price paid during "locking the price" is adjusted with the full amount paid under the booking period. But when I tried doing the same, it is not showing the same for me. Refer to the below screenshots for more clarity. First Screenshot is mine and the Second one is my friend's. For me, I have to pay INR 1070 extra and INR 6594 in the booking period BUT for my friend, it is INR 929 and it will be adjusted to the total amount and he has to pay INR 5665 later on. I don't understand how the same feature is showing differently for both o[censored]s. Is that to make people fool? And also the Terms and Conditions are not clarified for the same thing. I used the LOCK THIS PRICE for a ticket from Bangalore to Srinagar on 31st January. The lock-in was valid till Feb 7th. When I tried to confirm the ticket on 6th Feb, I got a response "We are sorry to inform you that booking for your flight ... could not be completed due to an issue with the airline" .. I also got a message that the airline had increased their fare by nearly Rs.2000.0.
The website says "If the price increases, you pay the price you lock"
This is a gross violation of Makemytrip's promise. If this provision was not there, I would have booked my ticket on 31st itself, since the price would usually go up. Now I had to pay Nearly Rs.2000 more!
This is cheating the customer,
There is no email to which I can make a complaint!

I had same issue today. I locked price couple of days back for 4 travellers and was trying to pay today to confirm trip. Transaction failed saying that no seats are available now and lock price will be refunded. However I was able to book tickets on airlines directly which means tickets were available. Downside is that I ended up paying 15k in addition to what I would have if I had bought 2 days back instead of locking prices.

Makemytrip - Price Lock - Fraud and Scam

First of all they charge additional amount for just locking the price, and then give a validity period as well. When you try to make the payment before the expiry date, the prices suddenly get increased and you are forced to pay higher price. Why are they even wasting our time if we have to pay the current price itself with extra loss of locking price.
