MakeMyTrip India — my etihad flight cancellation amount credited to mmt mycash instead of my credit card account

On 17 feb 2020, vide mmt booking id nn[protected], i had booked etihad – mumbai – abu dhabi - dusseldorf – zurich – abu dhabi – mumbai flights in the name of shraddha dcunha, my wife. I had paid an amount of rs ₹ 46511, vide my credit card.

Owing to covid-19, the trip was cancelled. I also cancelled the abovesaid flights through mmt on 14 march 2020.

On 24 may, 2020, i received a mail from mmt stating that the refund of rs 32, 659 has been processed by the flight operator and the amount has been credited to mmt’s mycash, and not to my credit card.

My refund has been initiated and makemytrip has placed my monies in their account. This is gross irregularity.

I tried to contact the customer service, emailed and chatted the complaint, but to no avail.

It is not makemtrip’s money (The amount which mmt paid to etihad on my behalf has been return to mmt, which should have returned the money to my credit card account), then how can they keep it in its account, while i pay 38% interest on the same.

I am under severe financial stress, and this withholding of my monies in mmt account is putting additional burden.

I request that mmt forthwith deposit the refund amount of rs 32, 659 along with interest for the number of days it has placed it in its account at the rate of 38% pa, back into my credit card account from where the payment was made.
