My name is Abhay and I need to highlight certain issues regarding the flight booking service of makemy trip. On Sunday, 17th April noon, I booked Pune to Goa flight for the following dates for my family
Pune to Goa : 15th May
Goa to Pune : 19th May
This is my flight booking ID (Flight Booking ID NF[protected].
We wanted to change our dates by one day that evening and hence we changed them as under
Pune to Goa : 16th May
Goa to Pune : 20th May
via the 'manage booking' services. When we made the second transaction and were paying for our flights, there was no mention of the penalty that was going to be levied. The only other information in addition to the fare that was mentioned was the price difference. We therefore paid the full fare again believing that the earlier fare will get refunded.
When i contacted the customer care representative today I was told that there will be no refund as these will be treated as cancelled tickets. and that since we changed the dates, we would be levied that penalty.
It is extremely frustrating and disappointing to know that the site actually misrepresented facts and cheated us of our hard earned money.
-when the site could clearly highlight the fare difference while we were making the transaction, why weren't the penalty charges highlighted?
-why wasn't there any mention of that fact that these will actually get treated as cancelled tickets and that there will be no refund of the previous transaction.
-Isn't there a difference between cancelling a ticket altogether versus changing dates.
By not being transparent and explicit about charges / deductions / non refunds to a customer while he is making a transaction (when every other information is mentioned) is clearly taking customers for a ride. Was this information helpful? |

Further in reference to your complaint, please be noted that re-scheduling an existing booking on our website allows user to make changes on the existing booking only. Hence if customer is making any change in the existing itinerary then airlines would be deducting it rescheduling or cancellation charges based on which further change is being performed. Hence based on this fact we humbly apologize as amount can be refunded from our side for the earlier payment made. Also as a suggestion we would request to kindly contact our call center for seeking clarity before making any such amendment.
