MakeMyTrip India — travel scam alert my worst experience with makemytrip (mmt)

I recently booked a family trip to Thailand through MakeMyTrip (MMT) — and what happened with me was nothing short of a fraud and complete negligence. I'm sharing this so others don't fall into the same trap.
👉 MMT’s Irresponsibility:
• I never shared any Air India ticket details with them — yet they assumed my flight was with Air India and arranged the wrong pickup. Later, they marked me as a 'No Show' and denied my refund.
• The tour manager personally confirmed on WhatsApp that if I take a taxi and send the receipt, I would receive a 100% reimbursement.
• Trusting his word (my mistake), I took the taxi and submitted the receipt — and now they are denying any such commitment.
• MMT’s grievance team is just giving formal, irresponsible replies, repeatedly blaming me instead of accepting their mistake.
👉 Pathetic Hotel Service:
• I was placed in an unlivable, third-class hotel — the washbasin was choked, AC wasn’t working, floors were wet, my child slipped and fell, and despite complaining, they refused to shift us.
• After wasting 2 hours, they promised a transfer to Ramada and later backed off saying the hotel won’t refund money, leaving us stuck there.
• When I requested a room change, the hotel demanded an additional 6000 THB.
• The new room was even worse — AC wasn’t working, bathroom door wouldn’t lock, TV had only Thai channels, not even YouTube.
👉 MMT’s Attitude:
• No one picked up my calls for hours when I needed help.
• During my return, they again scheduled a wrong pickup at 7:30 PM for a 1:30 PM flight — despite me sharing the actual ticket well in advance this time.
• If I hadn’t followed up repeatedly, I would’ve missed my flight — despite them having my actual ticket details.
This isn’t just about money — it’s about trust, respect, and my family’s safety.
If I hadn’t proactively handled everything, my family would have been stranded on the road because of MMT’s careless and irresponsible service.
Now instead of admitting their fault, they’re blaming me.
I will make sure to highlight this entire experience across all platforms so that others don’t suffer like me.
