I've been a regular user of makemytrip but in recent times their support and experience provided is pathetic. I booked 2 hotel rooms for 9th July at Yercaud and I got a call from the Hotel manager (on night of 7th July) confirming that the rooms are booked and we wouldn't be able to check in. He also informed that, Makemytrip is aware of this as he dropped a note to them 2 days ago. I did not receive any calls or emails from the team regarding my stay.
I immediately called makemytrip's support care and addressed this issue. They committed to provide a resolution within 6 hours. I got a call from Shivam Choudhary/Shivam Bajpai and the call was automatically declined within 5 seconds. I tried calling the support team again and finally connected with Shivam. He was not at all helpful and with the way he spoke I can clearly conclude that he doesn't give a damn about their customers.
I'm travelling with my family and I made sure to book a hotel with a swimming pools, campfire and breakfast for the kids. Shivam acting very smart gave me an alternative hotel called Golden Nest - which had a 2.0 user rating. The hotel suggested is poorly maintained, unhygienic and unsafe considering the reviews. Plus it did not include any amenities like swimming pool, campfire and breakfast. My kids are allergic to dust and we just got recovered from covid. How can I put my family's health and safety at risk? Shivam did not understand my concern and was only worried about the cost of the hotels.
Obviously any last minute booking made would cost higher, it's common maths. This is why we made our booking prior to cut down on cost. A right resolution here would be to provide me a hotel with the same amenities that I booked for - that's what a real company who puts their customers first do.
I'm flying today and I still don't have a place confirmed to stay. How can I board a flight with my family without having a place to stay. The same happened with one of booking with makeuptrip to Pondicherry - my family were left on the road for 4 hours since the hotel denied our booking as the rooms were full.
I'm attaching all the required files and information below:
