Hi,
I am vikas shrivastava. I have made a booking on 8th february 2017 on makemytrip with the following details:
• booking id: nf[protected]
• flight: air costa lb – 655
• from to: jaipur to bangalore
• departure on 29th april 2017, 6:20 pm to 8:10 pm
• amount paid = inr 11, 996 + inr 900 (Convenience fee) = inr 12, 896
I got a call from make my trip in first week of march 2017 that the air costa flights are not operating anymore and my above mentioned flight is cancelled. I was assured that as the flight is cancelled my money would be refunded to me.
I have been following up with makemytrip since then for the refund amount. I have raised the tickets also on the website few times. Every time the reply i got from makemytrip is that makemytrip’s legal team is taking a legal action against air costa and once air costa will refund the amount makemytrip will also do it.
My concern here is that
1. I made the bookings through makemytrip. I paid the money to makemytrip for the booking and if the booking is cancelled makemytrip is liable to refund my money.
2. Even if i ask about what legal action they have taken against air costa, they do not have any answer for that.
I request makemytrip to please refund my money at the earliest.
As it is you have lost a loyal customer (You may check my profile on your portal for the booking history).
On facebook makemytrip’s reply:
Makemytrip.com hi vikas, we hope that your are aware that airline has shut down their business from india and didn't process the refund amount to any ota. Further. We shall get this checked and update you soon.
My reply to it is:
This is precisely the business model of makemytrip. That you book tickets on behalf of cutomers like us with the airlines and in turn get a commission out of it. Makemytrip has earned money while i have booked tickets through the website so many times in the past. Now when it comes to refunding the money for a cancelled trip makemytrip is shifting the blame to airline. As i have paid my money to makemytrip, makemytrip is liable to pay the refund. Please process my refund.
