Maruti Suzuki India — Attempt to deliver defective car instead of brand new car

Respected sir/Madam,

I, Dr. Abhay Prabhugaonkar, your loyal customer since 2005 have been using maruti cars Alto lx and Swift vxi, we have always been dealing with you and your dealer Chowgule Industries LTD Fatorda, Margao-Goa. We have always been happy with your immediate and excellent service but now we have to regret it since, you Maruti always say that you are available at every place for any problem of the customer, Chowgule fails to keep up to your word and I have my doubts about their capabilities of being your distributor.

We had booked an Alto 800 lxi for exchange of our old car Alto lx, the RTO registration was done on 4/1/17, but on the day of delivery, the sales person calls us that there is a dent on top of the car for which the panel has to be repaired and fully repainted. Now as a customer, when we pay the said full amount for a new car, our expectation is to recieve a brand new car and not a defective car, We declined to accept the car. Since then ie. 5/1/17, the Chowgule team has been harassing us for negotiating terms in their favour, attempting to force the defective car on us. They contend the car is registered, they cannot cancel it and as a step towards reconciliation we asked an amount of Rs. 60, 000/- as compensation. But they just do not seem to be bothered about our grievances. We have already paid the full amount from Corporation Bank, Ponda-Goa on 31 /12/16 and for a brand new car, they give us a defective car(due to their mismanagement) which is absolutely unethical.

I hereby kindly request you to look into the matter and hope that we are given a proper consideration ie either a new car or compensation as proposed, as I think Maruti Suzuki India Limited believes in satisfaction of their customers.
