[Resolved]  Mpokket — Harassment on the basis o[censored]nreasonable Interest inflation

Dear Sir/Mam,

I am an mpokket customer. I issued a loan amounting to INR 10, 000 between the period Oct-2020 to Dec-2020. I had issued loan from the said service earlier as well and had never defaulted but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic I failed to make the payments on time. As a result, a ridiculously large amount of interest was imposed without any prior warning.

The outstanding amount was shown to be around INR 16, 000. I paid INR 5000 and asked the said service for some time to make further payments but the company kept on adding interest day by day. The next time I was contacted they further increased the outstanding amount by some INR 3500 i.e. instead of remaining INR 11000, I was asked to pay some INR 14000+ amount, even when I had requested a little amount of time.

In response, I contacted them on e-mail and explained my predicament that due to the covid pandemic, I was unable to arrange such a large sum of money and requested them to waive off some of the interest and give me some time to make the payments. I was told by one of their associates to either pay some INR 12000+ upfront within 24 hours or ready to pay up even more in interests.

I wrote again, explaining my situation and an associate assured me that I'd be contacted with a viable solution but he didn't. I rewrote an email hoping to get some resolution to the matter and I was asked to pay even more yet again, around INR 17000 and that too without any moratorium i.e. time to pay off the debt.

Even the RBI has directed such services to offer moratorium to their customers but mpokket refuses to come to any resolution.
I have explained to them time and again that I have no money left and my family members are currently battling covid-19. the economic condition of the country is dwindling and that i am just a student and cannot make money during the lockdown. The lending service, however, remains unsympathetic to my problems and continues to keep piling up interests and even threatened to send me legal notices. The associates are rude and do not even want to negotiate.

I am already dealing with a lot given my covid affected family and our dwindling economic conditions. Adding to that pressure is this continuous harassment from mpokket.

My mental health and peace and greatly affected by this continued bulling and hence i write to gain some resolution.

I am attaching screenshots of multiple mails that i had written to mpokker this last month.

Kindly, help me out of this mess.
