I have been receiving constant harassment from mpockket regarding a loan that I never took. Their recovery agents keep calling me, demanding repayment, even though I have nothing to do with this loan.
After investigating, I found out that my current mobile number was previously assigned to someone named Nandan Choudhary. However, this number was not his personal number—it was actually a company-issued SIM that he used for work. When he resigned, he returned the number to the company, and later, Airtel reassigned it to me after the usual deactivation period.
Most likely, Nandan Choudhary used his company-issued number to take a loan from mpockket. According to a loan recovery agent I spoke with, the loan in question was issued in 2021, but I only purchased this number after 2023. This means the loan was taken long before I had any association with this number. Despite this clear timeline discrepancy, mpockket continues to blindly chase this reassigned number, causing unnecessary harassment to an unrelated person.
This is a clear case of negligence in maintaining accurate borrower information. I expect mpockket to review its records, update its database, and stop contacting me regarding this loan.
Mpockket should ensure that reassigned numbers are properly verified before making baseless loan recovery attempts. Was this information helpful? |
