Myntra.com — coupon invalid

Myntra provided me a coupon for rs.800 in response to an error on their payment page due to the massive sale. The representative gave me a coupon to compensate for it and informed me in case i return the product the coupon will be valid for use with no minimum purchase and made it sound that it was as good as cash. Now when i try to use the coupon it says not applicable for the selected products. My point being if there was no error on the payment gateway i would have processed the payment as usual and after returning the product i would have received my complete amount back but due to the incompetent myntra system i was issued a coupon.
