Sir.

1. I retired from army service in the last year.in last month i was on the way to chandigarh from may place i. E. Palampur (Himachal pradesh). I was in my own car registered in my name.in toll plaza after showing my retired defence personnel identity card i have been charged toll tax.in ministry of road transport and highways gm (Cm) office located in sarita near sv fly over, new delhi letter no nha1/cmu/gma off/exemp/toll taxx d 1166 dated 17 nov 2006 defence personal/ex-servicemen and their familees are exempted from paying totax on production of i-card.

2. I request your goodself to kindly intimate whether ex-servicemen while travelling in the vehicle registered his own name have to pay toll tax or not and if ex-servicemen are exempted from toll tax what are the certificates are required to be produced at toll plaza for getting exemption in toll tax.
