National Highways Authority Of India [NHAI] — The lack of a proper sign board at the point of diversion of the road which takes to Visakhapatnam

Hello NHAI team,

1) On 16 June 2022 AN, I was travelling with my family on the highway from Srikakulam to Visakhapatnam (my vehicle number is AP31DY 3009).

2) On this highway, the point where there is a diversion road which takes to Visakhapatnam being not noticeably indicated, we went straight ahead towards Anakapalli/Pendurti on that road. After travelling around 15 kilometres we noticed that we were on the wrong road. There was no cut till the text toll plaza (unfortunately, I did not note down the name of the plaza) where before the plaza we took a U-turn. After enquiries, it took us around an hour to return to the point from where the diversion road to Visakhapatnam city. I spent around 2 hours and perhaps a considerable amount of fuel because of this mistake. The same thing happened to my sister in law on 15th June while they were returning from Srikakulam.

3) I also to wish to bring to your notice that at the toll plaza while making enquiries about the correct route to Visakhapatnam, I came to know that every day around 15 to 20 vehicles are landing up in this wrong route and going back on the same route again to find the point where the road goes to Visakhapatnam.

4) Keeping the above incidents, may I earnestly request you to kindly put up - a large sign board properly lighted during the night - so that people travelling toward Visakhapatnam will not miss this small and insignificant road diversion to Visakhapatnam.

I am sure that you will consider my complaint positively and take immediate action by instituting the direction board on the left side of the diversion road of large size and with proper lighting.

I shall also be grateful if the action initiated is communicated to me at the below mentioned address.
