[Resolved]  Oyo Rooms — escalations and refund

I had booked a room with oyo at 3:00 pm on 8th nov 2018. And at 3:02 pm decided to cancel the room because of alterations in my plan. My refund payment is pending even after escalation mangers promise of refunding full amount. They cut the phone after promising to call back with a solution but they never do this had happened 5 times. The escalation manager promised full refund into my payment method. But did not receive anything

Dear Team,

As per our telecon. We had with your concern executive and manager.

Actually we had a booking with OYO Hotel Bevvan Resort other than the hotel we are staying now i.e. Silver Plam.. Please check the details at your end regarding why we had changed our priority location because of OYO we wasted our time from 1500Hrs to 1800Hrs and had moved around along with our luggage and baggage.

As there was a rate issue with that resort and OYO Your representative had arranged an alternative hotel as per your wish.

Here the rate was confirmed by your representative along with complementary breakfast.. Attached the voice clip for your reference.

Now at during the our stay. The OYO hotel management is saying that complementary breakfast is not included by the OYO executive while booking. So we need to pay for the same.

Today during the telecon. Your management is saying that you need to check the email regarding details and donot believe in voice call. But during the travel on a leisure trip we should check the email for your faulty and false voice confirmations.

We shall pay the charges for breakfast surely. If you confirm that any commitment over phone by OYO is not ACCEPTABLE AND COMMITTED.

My booking confirmation at hotel Taj residency Mangalore was dinied coz hotel had left d Oyo from past 5 month..after calling to the customer care, he made me to hold on for 15 minutes nearly n was trying to shift to some other property, after taking long time he told me that he will confirm with the other hotel before giving me a confirmation ..n dropped the Call .I was waiting for another 25 min outside the same hotel with that heavy rain outside but not even a single response from the care ...
I was a not a new customer but this is what I got from Oyo care . And than I had to check in in the same hotel by paying separate bill .later I cancelled oyo n aproched for refund ... if this things happens in such emmergency situation customer will feel bad n will not re think of going back ... So this has been resolved...

This is with regard to my booking made at OYO Townhouse 013 New Friends Colony on 2nd of sepetember 2021... i was told over phone by miss naina, that she is confirming a room on the 3rd floor which is a spacious room with a good balcony space and a LIFT ..so in good faith in your name, i made an online payment from my paytm upi account..

However when i went to the hotel, a room on the 3rd floor was not available. only a closed room on ground floor was available, which was not to my liking, as i had specifically mentioned i wanted a room on height with open balcony space, which WAS PROMISED to me while BOOKING... Though after waiting for 2 hours and contacting your oyo team on customer care numbers with all efforts in vain, the hotel staff told me one room got vacated on the 3rd floor but there is no balcony and the lift is NOT working currently... As i have knee issues, i could not climb stairs... hence i did not check in the hotel... and asked them for a refund..

The hospital staff told me they cannot refund the money, i will have to contact customer care, or cancel my booking in the oyo app.. so i did as they suggested... when i cancelled my booking over phone and in app, they said, the amount would be refunded in 7 to 14 days...

Now its almost 20 days, but i have not received my refund till now

I even contacted your customer care number again and they made me wait for 40 minute over the phone saying that they are processsing my refund.. but at the end of 40 minutes, they disconnected the call and nothing happened.. the next time i called, someone else picked up the phone ... and kept tranferring the call with all efforts in vain...

i am feeling extremely harrassed...so many hours of my precious productive time is wasted, so is my mental peace, wasted expenditure n travel to and forth as well... i had chosen you over so many hotels in delhi... however i am extremely dissappointed with your hospitality... should i never choose oyo again??? i had cancelled my booking due to deficiencies in your promises and non availability of services in your hotel, which were promised...

I had specifically mentioned that I do not want a ground floor, and only the highest floor while booking and if only ground floor is there then I do not want to make the booking.. but I was assured that 3rd floor with balcony and lift is there... but that was not the case when I reached ...

i wrote a letter to the hotel staff as well, they also wrote and requested for refund, and i have and am attaching copy of the same for your reference...

Requesting you to please consider the matter at the earliest, and process my refund.. my booking ID was AX6Z2239...

Hi Ritesh,

Yesterday I booked 2 rooms for 4 people and at time of check in we requested the receptionist to allow my 5th guest for 2 hours as his train was late and we asked him to provide 2 hours he will not stay after 10PM so he simply denies, also told us to ask your guest to wait outside as they will not allow my guest to enter my room which I booked.

We also suggest him to add one person in app and modify our booking but he told me that you already paid the amount via online hence we can't do anything. Futher after 30 mins of arguments, he told me to give 500 bucks to provide the entry of my guest in the room.

I want to know if I booked 2 rooms and unfortunately my guest told me that his train is late so i think nobody in India told their guest to do their own booking.

2nd complaint

At early in the morning 4.30 AM when I go to washroom so I can't find any soap in washroom and also there is no water in the tap so at that time i was searching for the water because without water I can't came outside the washroom. Then I found small amount of water there in a bucket and i used that water. Then at early in the morning without washing my hand I go to reception for the soap.

I paid 1900 bucks for this type of services???

This is horrible experience

Then at 9.30AM, hotel management knocked our rooms and ask for check out . I want to know I paid the amount till 11 AM then why the management distrub our sleep at 9.30AM.

I need a solution for this as for me this booking is totally worthless and waste of money, also the embarrassment which I faced infront of my guests.

I want to now it's possible anyone can come and check-in on others booking and checkout who will be responsible for any criminal incident. One week i had stayed in Oyo Townhouse 242 Sarjapur Road, I had some compliant for this Hotel as Below :-
1. TEA and Coffee and Milk powder, Kettle Not Provided in Room .
2. Room not cleaned Properly. And They are not changing the cloth.
3. In Morning, Complimentary food not Good and They are providing Two Varieties alternate days, only provided Allu Parota ( 1 piece ) 1 St day and Puri ( 3 Piece ) 2 nd day Like that . They are continuing upto one Week. And South Indian food Not Available.
4. Cost of Food is Too High...

I want ask some questions:-
1.What is the meaning of Complimentary food.
2. What is the meaning of Room cleaning.
3.Next Time, Surely i not come this Hotel.

Made a payment of Rs.1092 to OYO rooms for the above booking. But I received a call from the hotel that they do not have the tie-up with OYO anymore and asked me to cancel the booking. I canceled the booking to oyo via their customer care over the call on the same day, i.e 17th September 2022. I checked with the support on 4th Oct about the refund, they said the refund was not initiated and took my bank details. On following up again on 25th Oct, they mentioned refund was initiated on 21st October and will be credited within 7-14 working days. I contacted them again on 9th November, they again asked me to wait 7 working days. On contacting on 21st November, they again asked to wait 14 working days. They are just lingering on it to avoid the refund. Each time they ask to wait 14 working days without providing the refund and just harassing the customer.
