Panasonic — led tv not working after 15 months of purchase | |
I purchased a panasonic led tv 42" model th42c410d sl no. I6eds12137 from m/s great eastern appliances pvt ltd, tollygunge, kolkata paying rs. 47500.00 on 18.06.2016. Within15 months of purchase, the tv stopped working. There was no display at first, but the sound was there. Then that also stopped. We booked a complaint on 22.09.2017, reference no. R[protected]. The technician came and examined the tv and told that there's some problem with the motherboard and for changing it, he quoted an amount of rs. 4000.00 and we agreed to pay it. Then after three days, he visited again and this time he said that the panel is damaged and needs to be replaced. And the cost of replacement is around rs. 25000/-. Then we visited m/s great eastern appliances pvt ltd tollygunge and informed them of our problem. At first they said that the cost of replacing the panel would be about r. 15000/-. But when we said that the company technician had quoted a different price, they had a discussion among themselves and said that it would amount to rs. 25000/-. According to them, the best solution is to buy a new tv. They also offered to buy back the damaged tv at a hefty price of rs. 1000/-. We are thinking of taking the legal measures against the manufacturer for making a substandard product and also, the dealer for making a fool o[censored]nsuspecting consumers.
