Fraudulent activity from Freelancer Hemant Kumar - Client of Shine.com [protected]@alerts.shine.com

Respected Sir/Mam,

I(Meenakshi Sharma) got an email from Freelancer Hemant Kumar - Client of Shine.com [protected]@alerts.shine.com by HR Rajat for vacancy then I sent my resume([protected]@gmail.com) to them by this email ID [protected]@gmail.com. I took an appointment by calling him (Rajat). He sent me Interview Venue on this number [protected]. He's number is [protected]. I visited there and talked to Ms. Mannat, suggest me a job for Back-end executive in Noida Sec-5. I don't hv her number. Then She filled a form by the name of ACS TECH INFO and asked for 600 rs. She said we have to take charge for assurance so that we'll not leave job before a month and 1000 rs for another round at training venue(given in receipt). We submitted 500 rs. She arranged telephonic round for me then I cleared my first round and gave me filled form of ACS TECH INFO as receipt and given contact number of HR Sonu Kaushik
[protected]. We have to attend another round on Saturday (21/4/18) at 2:00 in Tilak Nagar. From there I got the address of Laxmi Nagar Office with contact number. Then I called to given contact number which was [protected] by my own number [protected]. Then I told to this Rajat. Then he sent the Noida location without number and I asked to provide the contact number. He said I'll try but after 2 days he refused. Now I want to get my money back.

Please help me out to get my money back from them. I'm not satisfied with their service. Kindly revert to us as soon as possible.

Thanks & Regards,
Meenakshi Sharma

Shine.com Customer Care's response
Dear Meenakshi,

Greetings from Shine.com.

With reference to your mail, these days a lot of fake recruiters are calling the candidates using the name of reputed job portals and extract heavy money from them. We will like to clarify that Shine.com is not linked with any such recruiter or consultants.

Please note that Shine.com is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for any such communication via email, sms or phone call by a frivolous source claiming to have got the contact details of the concerned person through or representing Shine.com.

Therefore jobs seekers are advised not to indulge in any monetary engagement with such sources in the name of guaranteed interviews with employers.

Also please note that time to time, we advertise this on our own newspaper Hindustan Times.

For further assistance please email us at [protected]@shine.com.

Regards

This recently happened to a friend of mine who was looking for a job change.

He had put up his profile in several other job portals for over a month with no scam calls. One day after he uploaded his information in Shine.com : One Stop Destination To Find Your Dream Job on the Go, he received no less than 10 calls.

The MO is rather similar in all the calls received.

You’re asked to confirm your qualification, years of experience, preferred location and domain.
You’re assured immediately that there are close to a hundred job openings suiting your profile.
There’s a snag though, the likelihood of your landing the job is increased with their service of providing internal references in the organisations that have opening, which is all great but you need to pay a token amount of Rs. 3500 to register for these services.
When asked where they found his contact information & profile, the callers declined to provide that detail, whereas some of them claimed to work for Shine.com : One Stop Destination To Find Your Dream Job on the Go.
When the caller is quizzed more on his/her professional email id, or specifics of which organisations have openings, you’re asked to confirm whether you’re willing to register and pay the requisite Rs. 3500.
If your answer is not a “Yes”, but a volley of more questions which a genuine headhunter will have no problems answering, they hang up the call.
While these fraudulent schemes exist everywhere, just the overwhelming number of calls received in a single day all claiming to provide the same service raises a lot of questions and reflects badly on Shine.com.
