Dear Sir/Madam,
I received a call from Shine.com on 25 May 2026 regarding job placement assistance. During the initial discussion, I was informed that a one-time payment of Rs. 3, 293.94 (after a 10% discount on Rs. 3, 600) would provide six months of validity, interview assistance, placement support, and that no further payments would be required.
After making the payment, a Relationship Manager, Mr. Suraj Sharma (+91-[protected]), was assigned to me. During our discussion, he informed me that an additional payment of Rs. 1, 000 was required. However, he generated a proforma invoice for Rs. 6, 994.82, which was not disclosed during the initial conversation. Despite my concerns, I made the payment after being assured that no further charges would be requested.
Subsequently, another proforma invoice for Rs. 9, 895.97 was raised for additional services. After considerable discussion and repeated assurances that this would be the final payment, I paid this amount as well.
Thereafter, I was asked to make yet another payment of Rs. 15, 759.00 for additional services. At this point, I refused and requested a refund of the total amount already paid, amounting to Rs. 20, 184.73. However, my refund request was denied.
I believe I was induced to make successive payments based on assurances that no further charges would be levied. The repeated demands for additional payments after each transaction constitute unfair and misleading business practices.
I therefore request:
Immediate cancellation of all services associated with my account.
Full refund of the total amount paid by me, amounting to Rs. 20, 184.73.
Written confirmation of the refund initiation and expected timelines.
Failing a satisfactory resolution, I reserve the right to escalate this matter to the National Consumer Helpline, Consumer Commission, Cyber Crime Portal, and other appropriate regulatory authorities.
Kindly treat this matter as urgent and resolve it at the earliest.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Sachidanand Tripathi
