Horrible experience with Sony repair center in Pune. It seems that Sony has not only reduced the quality of their products but also has reduced the quality of after sale services. The problem started when I got the hard disk failure error message and one of the corners of the laptop has loosens its grip (looks like as if some screw lost its grip. I took the laptop to Sony repair center, from where my terrific journey started.
The quality of the staff is such a horrible that they haven’t even noted down my name correctly and could not able to rectify it even after rectifying them several time that the name is not written correctly, forget about the services.
I took the laptop to Sony center on 30th Dec morning and I was told that the price of the hard disk replacement is around INR 10, 000 but they will give the full estimate before End of the day over a call, but since I haven’t got any call from them, I myself called them round 5:30pm to check the status and then I came to know that they haven’t looked at it at all. I asked them to priorities and let me know the status before End of the Day.
Fortunately in evening they called but my bad luck was that instead of calling me they called my friend (as I have given my friend number as a secondary number) and told him that the estimated cost increased to around INR 15000 as the internal hard disk needs to import from Singapore.
Next day Morning 31th Dec when I came to now this from my friend, I have given the call to Sony center guys but without given any reason they told me that they will be re-arranging the call back but here again they did bluff and instead of calling me they called my friend.
When I came to know this from my friend, I have again given them the call and try to have clarity or their justification on the increased charges but they didn’t give any satisfactory answer.
Finally when I gave up in front of their stupid reasoning, I asked them for repairing the laptop but here even much bigger shock was waiting for me. I was told that their system is not working so then cannot start working on it.
My Question is why the hell they have opened their office if they system are not working, to make people fool?
Much bigger surprise when I inquired the same thing from another Sony service center in the same city, I was told that it will cost me around INR 7000. Can someone tell me how come Sony centers in the same city have this much of price difference INR 3000?
Just now I called then and told me that they are getting the hard disk from Dehli and they will repair it by Monday and it may extend. My question, If sony have turn around time 3 days, why they are taking 7 days in this case and charging around INR 15000
