Sony India — I got cracked led

I have bought 40inch sony led from Flipkart. I had to gift it to my friend when my product reaches my home I opened parcel and checked Led that I bought from Flipkart It was looking good but, I hadn't switched on led. after couple of days I gifted that led to my friend when my friend switched on led then he called me and said the led defected.
I have a register that complains to sony and they told me they will send their engineer. When the engineer came he told me there is an internal crack in led and he will replace the panel of led.
After 2 days I got called from sony and they said you need to pay for the panel .My led is under in warranty but they keep saying you have to pay for led panel.
