Sony India — I have sony xperia z c 6602 phone.it has been water damage in spite of water proof

My phone slip with my hand it has splash in swiming pool . In that time its wifi or ringer not working . I go to service center . Service center take refuse the phone.but they dont take phone said that xperia z is water proof phone how iay possible that it take water . Plz give me sutable answer .
