Sony India — Not Providing Spare Parts and not Providing Service against a Sony TV

Dear Sir/ Madam

I am having a Sony BRAVIA TV Model KDL-50W800C, bearing Serial no. 4501152 purchased on 9th Nov 2015. The TV is not working and I had booked a Service Representative through your authorized Service Centre, M/s Dunamis Trade & Services, Kolkata.

The service representative visited my house and carried out inspection vide Job no. J11621224 dated 16th Sep 2021.In the Service report, it is mentioned that Panel of the TV has been damaged –need replacement. A quotation of Rs. 35, 500/- was submitted for replacing the damaged panel. Thereafter I had given consent the quoted amount to replace the damaged Panel of the TV.

Your authorized Service Center, M/s Dunamis Trade & Services, Kolkata told me that spare Panel is not available with Sony. The representative of your centre also told me, if I purchase a Sony TV from them; special buyback offer will be given to me. Then I felt it is indirect pressure on me for purchasing new TV.

Thereafter I had visited web page of Sony and lodged a complaint through email dated 29.10.2021 vide request ID: 67929100.

In response to my compliant, an email was sent to me on 04.11.2021 mentioning that Spare Panel is not available with them for replacing the damaged panel at my existing TV set. Hence there is no other option for me, but to buy a new TV. In the email a buyback price of INR 55, 553/- was offered to me for Model KD-50X75.

Thereafter I made request vide email dtd. 05.11.2021to send another buyback offer for 55” TV. Accordingly Buyback offer of Rs. 71124/- was given me vide email on 09.11.2021. I had checked the offered Price with Amazon and found it is Rs. 78355/- without buyback. The difference is only Rs. 7113 for the value of my old TV set. How the offered Price can be treated as Special of Sony? Is this justifiable the buyback value of TV of Rs. 1 Lac nearly? Actually I wanted to get repair the TV by replacing the damaged panel. But Sony is NOT able to provide the require Spare Parts. It is the fault of Sony, not me.

In view of above, I had made request to your Area Service In-Charge Mr. Rajib Ray regarding Price revision as your offered price was close to Online Amazon Price. Mr. Rajib Ray had given me sort of assurance that he will try for revision of price and revert back. Thereafter I had made several phone call to Mr. Rajib Ray, whats app message till today, but unfortunately he did not respond to me anyway. I did not take any decision hoping the price may get be reviewed and I will get some more discounted price for a new TV. Now without responding me on Revision of the Price within the validity period your representative have closed the case. It is injustice to me. Such type dealing and non-response to me from Company like Sony being a worldwide reputed company, is not expected and desirable.

Please either arrange the require Spare Panel for my old TV or give me reasonable buyback offer for new Sony TV of 50-55”.
