I am a customer using Sony Xperia Z1 model. On 1st February I connected my hand set for charging. while on charging mode, i received a call and i was unable to receive since the phone screen hanged. Next moment I pressed the power button and i experienced a shock & immediately found screen broken. Today I have visited Sony Authorized Service center, R-Logic Technology, Rajajinagar Bangalore-10, to obtain solution. Upon checking I have been said that this is a screen damage and since unit is 7 month old it will not be covered under warranty and shall be processed on warranty void basis.
When escalated I was introduced to the Manager who again said that this wont be covered under warranty. Approximate expense is 14 thousand INR. My question, I experienced an electrical shock and the screen crack while the unit was in my hand itself. i myself noticed it and didn't dropped the hand set, yet this is being termed as customer induced damage and warranty has become void. After paying Rs. 34, 698 on June 2014, I am regretting my decision for going ahead with a Sony Product.
Beyond this, my complain is also not logged in the pattern as I provided. In the Job sheet no where it is mentioned that i experienced an electrical event and which lead for the screen damage. The service center GOD have termed it as chargeable basis and same is recorded as damage and touch not working.
This is really a pathetic service provided with the Sony policy. I am extremely sorry for having purchased your product. Please help me share further procedure to obtain resolution. If I only have to pay for service, I wouldn't mind to donate for sony company for their learning and RD purpose free of cost.
Post this i sent a mail to the support matrix yet I didn't received any revert. All i received was 3 times a call
once to provide an offer of 50% cost of current price payment for a refurbished model or 80% payment for a new handset. i requested for quote for the repair
received call stating that it will cost Rs.8050/- quote. For this I requested if I can get discount. Caller requested for time and reverted saying that this is also not possible.
Ultimately all your warranty is just a void. No matter what, Sony mobiles only know to squeeze money but never provide or care for customer satisfaction.
