I own a DVD home theatre system of Sony. It is facing push power protector problem. As an educated person, I went on their website and many other tech sites to find a solution to it. I did all the steps to resolve the issue but nothing happened. Finally I called the customer care for service request. After 2 days an engineer came to my home from Orbit Electronics, Worli, Mumbai which is one of their service centers. He asked me the problem and I told him that push power protector issue is there since a month. He started performing all the steps which I already performed by refering to many websites. E.g. Plugging out the cables, checking the speaker wires and checking the power supply. After that he opened the system and closed it as if he was just trying to show me that he did his job. Then he said the system would need to be taken to the service centre for which there are transportation charges of Rs.340 if I ask sony to pick up. I asked him for the exact issue before I plan to take it to the service center but surprisingly he said that one of the ICs must have been faulty. I asked him again which one to which he said we can only tell this at service centre. Was he trying to make more money on behalf of Sony because Sony might have given instructions to their Enginers to talk this language. I told him that what have you done as an engineer but he kept mum and asked for Rs.170 which was his visiting fee. The moment he left I called customer care and explained the whole incident. I was assured that a senior engineer will visit again to check the system and this time I dont have to pay him the visiting charges. Its been 7 days with 2 follow up mails and 2 calls but no body has turned up. They don't even respond to the mails in a proper manner.
I really felt cheated now after 2 yrs of buying this product when I am experiencing their after sales service. I can easily say that Sony will be having the worst after sales service. Now I am planning to write a petition to consumer court for this issue and I'll ask for the refund of the product. Sony is cheating its customers believe me.
Any of you reading this, please do not buy Sony products otherwise you'll have to go through the same problems and hassles in case of any technical issues. Was this information helpful? |
