Sony Mobile — No repair policy for SONY ZR

I own the phone Sony Experia ZR. 8 months later the charging point closing breaks, and later a complete strip came out. I went at a service center for repair. The reply I get is " The phone is discontinued, we do not have repair policy for this phone. You need to submit this phone we shall provide a new phone once you pay 50 % of MRP. Why would i do that. I want my phone repaired. SONY a brand how can you do this. Do you not give notifications to customers if you have these things coming up ?? . I would appreciate if you can provide if you have provided any notices regarding service policy. My phone is under warranty, if it is physical damage I am ready to pay for it, but no service for a phone is not an answer. Please help !!!
