Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to bring to your kind attention that at busy stations like Tambaram and Mambalam, thousands of passengers travel daily on long distance routes, including a large number of senior citizens. The absence of escalators or lifts at many platforms forces elderly passengers to climb numerous steep steps while carrying heavy luggage, causing severe hardship and risk of injury.
Last week, I travelled with my family, all senior citizens aged 65–75 years between Tambaram and Tenkasi under PNRs [protected] & [protected]. We faced great difficulty reaching the platforms and no porters or battery cars were available for timely assistance and has to walk long distance to reach the coach with heavy luggage.
I request that the Railways address this pressing issue and urgently install escalators/lifts in all the platforms at such high-traffic stations and ensure availability of battery cars, porters to assist passengers in order to ensure safe and comfortable access for all passengers.
I strongly hope Railways will address this genuine issue at the earliest opportunity.
Thank You, Was this information helpful? |
