Address:Kolkata, West Bengal

Standard Chartered Credit Card Department

Dear Sir,
This has reference to Standard Chartered Principal Nodal Officer, Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya providing false documents pertaining to the year 2005 for Standard Chartered Credit Card supposedly generated in 2012, to The Hon. Banking Ombudsman, RESERVE BANK of India against my COMPLAINTS.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya has not responded to my mails given below for your records.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya refuses to meet in person at his STANDARD CHARTERED BANK Office at 31 Chowringhee Road, Kolkata and you are also unable to get an appointment from him.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya, very smartly (cunningly) not sent me letter Ref: 01/14/094353/RB/RBI dated February 18, 2014 addressed to Hon Banking Ombudsman despite a copy marked to me.
M/s Standard CHARTERED BANK has not only mentally harassed me but its officials have humiliated me. I would request your good Offices to look into the matter and ensure that I get a just compensation for all the harassment & humiliation.
Thanking you,

Dear Sir,

This has reference to Letter dated May 23, 2014 with Ref. : 05/14/025330/VN/ESC/RBI addressed to Hon, Banking Ombudsman, Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India Building, 3rd Floor, 15 Netaji Subhas Road, Kolkata - 700001 by Mr Sourav Bhattacharya, Nodal Officer, Standard Chartered Bank against Complaint No:-[protected] received by me on 26/05/14..

The above reply of Mr Sourav Bhattacharya is in response to mail forwarded by Ms M.S.Soy, General Manager, RBI, Bhubaneswar on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 5:35 PM to Kolkata Banking Ombudsman in response to my mail dated Thursday, January 09, 2014 at 11:59 AM addressed to all the receipients of this mail with special reference to Mr Arvind Kumar of Standard Chartered Bank.

Mr Sourav Bhattacharya however has not answered the following points as mentioned in my mail dated Thursday, January 09, 2014 at 11:59 AM nor has he provided the proofs.

(1) Why did Standard Chartered Bank not take any action or reply to my mails dated 09/08/13; 19/08/13;21/08/13; 22/08/13; 23/08/13;and 24/08/13 addressed to card.[protected]@sc.com; Head.[protected]@sc.com; customer.[protected]@services.com and by Online Standard Chartered Bank Portal on 23/08/13 regarding non - reciept of Credit Card by me, Credit Card not activated nor having received any Standard Chartered Credit Card Statements???

(2) No proof submitted of the said Standard Chartered Credit Card received by me or my family members as stated in letter dated February 18, 2014 of Mr Sourav Bhattacharya, Nodal Officer, Standard Chartered Bank till date despite having sent 27 or more mails in this context.

(3).No proof submitted of the said Standard Chartered Credit Card activated by whom; on what date was it activated and what was the method by which it was activated till date despite having sent 27 or more mails in this context. .

(4) No proof submitted of the said Standard Chartered Credit Card Statements for the period September 2012 to July 2013 or of mails sent in this context as per your letter dated February 18, 2014 addressed to Hon, Banking Ombudsman, Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India Building, 3rd Floor, 15 Netaji Subhas Road, Kolkata - 700001 by Mr Sourav Bhattacharya, Nodal Officer, Standard Chartered Bank.
In this letter Mr Sourav Bhattacharya mentions under the haeding " Non - receipt of Statement" that the Customer's Card Statements were generated on the 7th of every month but in Annexure 5 Mr Sourav Bhattacharya has attached copies of August'13; September'13 and October'13. What about the copies of Standard Chartered Credit Card Statements for the period September 2012 to July 2013????

(5) As per attachment of Standard Chartered Bank mentioned as MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENT wherein one has to read and sign acceptance, kindly note that it is ticked under Gold Free for life. The concerned document is signed by me on 25/10/2005. Kindly explain?????

(6) Mr Sourav Bhattacharya also has not answered that why has it taken 27 mails and more till date without still not receiving any answers to my queries along with all proofs attached to my queies and not as per your likings.

(7) Mr Sourav Bhattacharya is also silent on the point of humilation meted out by Standard Chartered Bank Customer Care Representatives as mentioned in my mail dated Thursday, January 09, 2014 at 11:59 AM. Why the silence on this point????

Mr Sourav Bhattacharya has vide his letter dated February 18, 2014 cotradicted some of the replies received to my queries by Standard Chartered Credit Card Customer Care personal which you can go through and confirm from your Portal.

Respected Principal Nodal Officer and Kolkata Banking Ombudsman, my humble request to your good Offices is to provide me legitimate, correct, to the point answers along with necessary proofs to my queries as mentioned above and also in my mail dated Thursday, January 09, 2014 at 11:59 AM.

Dear Ms Lakshmi L,

This is with reference to mail dated Fri, Jan 3, 2014 at 1:45 PM, with Ref : 01/14/010244/SP/CRD of Ms Lakshmi L, Officer, Customer Care, Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card which is given below. As regards to Madam's reply, I would like to state the following -

(1) I did not receive any Standard Chartered Credit Card as mentioned in my 28 mails from 09/08/2013 till date. Your answer below is something not in line with my question. Secondly Ms Lakshmi L states that - " We understand that the credit card dispatch was not intimated by you in the year 2013". Kindly note that the said Card was supposed to have been received by October 2012 as you have deducted Rs 842/70 from my Standard Chartered S.B.A/c on 26/10/12 . The above clearly proves that Standard Chartered Credit Card was not dispatched to me and you have wrongly deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent and then branded a liar by Ms Nancy of Customer Care, Standard Chartered Credit Card dept from Bangalore.

(2) The question of receiving SMS does not arise as I had not received Standard Chartered Credit Card.

(3) The response was extremely late as my first mail was sent to you on 09/08/13 and after that I have send 27 mails. Also mails were sent through Internet Banking also.

(4) You were forced to reverse the charges debited in the Card as I have received no Standard Chartered Credit Card and you had wrongfully deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent also.

Kindly note that I will take this issue to its logical end for necessary compensation as Standard Chartered Credit Card fraudulently deducted Rs 842.70 from my Standard Chartered Savings Bank without my having received the said Standard Chartered Credit Card and also deduction was made without my consent despite my having send several mails from 09/08/13.

I have been receiving stereotyped replies of the following type as given below [(a) to (g)] despite Ms Tamilarasi; Ms Prithi Shalini; Ms Manjula N; Ms Naznee Syed & Ms Padmavathy Bai sending at least 2 mails or more without resolution of my 6 queries as mentioned below {Nos (1) to (6)}.

(a) We are concerned to note that we have given you a cause to complain on our services. We regret any inconvenience caused to you in this regard.

(b) We have noted the contents of your mail. We wish to inform you that your complaint has already been registered via reference number[protected]- and we are in the verge of processing your request. We will revert to you on completion of the same. We request you to bear with us in the interim and thank you for your patience.

(c) We wish to inform you that considering the nature your request are taking little extra time. We assure you that we have assigned a dedicated resource to complete the request and also assure you that the complaint is being given the due attention it deserves. Our officer shall get in touch with you shortly and request you to bear with us till then.

(d) We observe from our records that your card ending 4291 has been cancelled with effect from September 27, 2013. On date there is nil balance in your card ending 4291.

(e) We would like to inform you that the annual fee debited to your card account is a basic product price. The same is debited to your card account for the various facilities extended on your card account. It is as per the TERMS and conditions and schedule of service charges applicable for your card facility.

(f) As a service gesture we have already reversed the annual fee of Rs.750.00 along with the service tax debited to your card account. This credit reflects in your October 2013 statement.

(g) We note from our records that the credit balance availed in your card account has been refund to you.

It is clear from above stereotype answers and references that you are buying time only and are in no mood of accepting your mistake on deduction of Rs 842/70 from my S.B.A/c in Standard Chartered Bank without my having received the said Standard Chartered Credit Card nor any information about the same vide SMS/Mail/Credit Card Statement or any proof of receipt and activation of said Standard Chartered Credit Card. Moreover your personnel had the audacity of branding me a liar ( Ms Nancy & another Customer Care Representative) and saying that they have proof of receipt of said Credit Card. Kindly explain as to why you reimbursed my Rs 842/70 if you had proof of receipt of said Credit Card.

However my queries, as mentioned below, have not been answered even after sending 28 mails from 09/08/13 till date -

(1) Why did Standard Chartered Credit Card not intimate me about a Credit Card been dispatched to me vide mail/SMS/Letter in the year 2012 and 2013. ????

(2) Why were there no phone calls/SMS/ Credit Card Statement made/sent in the year 2012 & 2013 regarding the Standard Chartered Credit Card ????

(3) Why was no action taken to my mails dated 09/08/13; 19/08/13; 21/08/13; 24/08/13; 28/08/13 and also to mails sent by Internet Banking.?????

(4) Why was Rs 842/70 deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent despite my having send mails dated 09/08/13; 19/08/13; 21/08/13; 24/08/13; 28/08/13 and to Internet Banking intimating about non - receipt of the Standard Chartered Credit Card and enquiring as to who has activated the said Credit Card???? Also no suitable reply has been received from your end as to why no SMS/Credit Card Statement was sent prior to August'13 and then why was it sent in August'13 when there was no transactions (as per your reply vide mail) ????

(5) Why have you reversed Rs 842.70 when Ms Nancy and some other Customer Care representative have clearly stated that I was a liar as I have received Standard Chartered Credit Card as per Standard Chartered Credit Card records???? Why the sudden change of heart and mind.????

(6) Who is responsible for the mental trauma that I had to undergo for deduction of amount from my S.B.A/c without my consent and also to be branded a liar by Ms Nancy and your Customer Care representative???? What about the time and efforts made by me to send mails to you all to which no action was taken?????

Kindly note that I will pursue this case to its logical end and will leave no stone unturned to get natural justice from Standard Chartered Credit Card Department.

Yours truly,
Bhupendra Singh Taragi
