My uncle Ganesh K, 57 years old is a long time customer of Star Health Insurance. He had renewed the insurance for a period of 3 years in June 2022 and a standing instruction was provided to deduct from the credit card. 2 Payments were successful and without any information, the payments stopped going out. Mr Ganesh has his Glaucoma surgery scheduled and the insurance desk at the hospital informed that his policy is cancelled. This came as a shock to him as he was not prepared to pay for the operation. He was distressed and under lot of stress due to the same. His relatives stepped in and helped him with the money for the operation. This is highly unacceptable that without any reason or intimation, his policy was cancelled.

    Policy lapsed without intimation

    my policy has been cancelled by company. I was continuing my policy since 2020 . In 2023 i had to pay my premium in 4 installments. My due date for last emi payment was 26 march 2023 but i couldn't pay due to closing of financial year though i talked to an starhealth executive.. They told me that grace period is 30 days you can pay anytime. I told them to pay within 10 days.. No one intimated me...

    My policy has been cancelled by company. I purchased a health insurance and continued since 2020. I was payning premium in 4 installments. I haf to pay last installement and due date for emi payment was 26 march 2023 but i couldn't pay due to closing of financial year though i talked to an starhealth executive.. They told me that grace period is 30 days you can pay anytime. No one intimated me that grace period is 7 days. Neither I get informed about 7 days grace period via written communication. After policy lapse they informed me about grace period. So how could I pay.
    But still I tried to pay on 2 april 2023 but star power app was not working. Neither getting updated, so on next day I recieved a message of policy lapsed. This is not justified I am continuing my policy from last 3 years and paying premiums and installements on time. I payed around 1 lakh till dare. This was my last installement. Due to some technical and miss communication it was delayed. And now my policy lapsed. WHY?? The money I paid from so long went into Vain.
    This is not acceptable.
    Neither they are continuing my policy nor resolving my issue... We are middleclass people. Hardly manage money to pay... We try to save a single ruppee. And they wasted my around 1 lakh rs. And completed the waiting period also.
    Please help. They are fraudulent

      I have Star Health Insurance policy from 26-Dec-2016. In Feb 2023, my wife had undergone left ovarian cyst operation, the cost of operation and medical bills RS 45616.00 in non-network hospital of Star Health Insurance, same amount was applied for re-imbursement, only RS 31420.00 approved by them. They were telling so many reasons for RS 14196.00 rejected amount. Almost 30% of the amount was not approved by the medical team of Star Health Insurance. Raised grievance in Star Health Insurance, no helped, same comments from them.
      I had paid insurance premium RS 116834.00 for last 7 years, if put it same amount in Fixed deposit, it may help better than Star Health Insurance.
      Don’t go for Star Health Insurance, it is waste of money as well as they will not bother about insurer, their way of communication to the insurer also very poor.

        मेरा कलेम आपके डॉक्टर की पेनल ने रिजेक्ट किया हे। उन्होने ये कहकर मेरा कलेम रिजेक्ट किया हे की आपको ये तकलीफ ६ महीनों से हे। इस अनुसन्धान मे मुझे आपसे कुछ कहना हे।

        मुझे तकरीबन ५ से ६ माह पहले थोड़ा ब्लीडिंग हुवा था। तभी मेने हमारे फेमिली डॉक्टर की दवाई लीथी उन्होंने बताया की शायद आपको कब्ज के कारण अंदर चिरे पड़ गये होगे और आपको ये ब्लीडिंग हो रहा होगा। उनकी २ दिन की दवाई लेनेके बाद मुझे एकदम आराम हो गया था। और उसके बाद मुझे कोई भी तकलीफ नहीं थी।

        वापस मुझे ५ से ६ महीनों के बाद ब्लीडिंग की तकलीफ हुई। तभी फिरसे मे हमारे डॉक्टर के पास गया तभी उन्होंने जनरल सर्जन से सलाह लेने को कहा और कहा कि एक बार उन्हें दिखा दो। तभी मेने मलाड मे देवांगी हॉस्पिटल के डॉक्टर नीलेश दोषी को जाके दिखाया तभी उन्होंने मुझे पूछा की आपको ये तकलीफ कबसे हे तभी मेने बताया की मुझे ये तकलीफ लगभग ५ से ६ महीने पहले हुई थी। तब मेरे फैमिली डॉ की दवाई से ठीक हो गया था । उसके बाद मुजे कोई तकलीफ नही थी । अभी तीन चार दिन से ब्लीडिंग हो रहा है।

        आपने कहा कि डॉक्टर ने लिखा है कि पेसेंट ने बताया कि उन्हें ५ से ६ महीने से ब्लीडिंग की तकलीफ है अगर इतने महीने से ब्लीडिंग की तकलीफ हो तो कोई आदमी रहे सकता है ? मेने डॉक्टर को बताया कि ५ से ६ महीने पहले ब्लीडिंग हुआ था तो उनोने पेपर में गलती से ये लिखा है कि मुझे ये तकलीफ ५ से ६ महीनों से हे। उनको समझने मे कुछ मिसअंडरस्टेडिंग हो गई। और उन्होने लेटर मे ये लिखदिया की मुझे ये तकलीफ ५ से ६ महीनों से हे।

        मेरे कहने में ओर डॉक्टर के लिखने में मिस्टेक हुई है ।

        उसकी वजे से आप मेरा क्लेम रिजेक्ट नही कर सकते।

        इसमे हमारी कोई भी मिस्टेक नही है।

        ओर देवांगी हॉस्पिटल में जाने के बाद ही मुजे पता चला कि ये तकलीफ है।

        (1) अगर किसी को ५ से ६ महीने से ब्लीडिंग की तकलीफ हो तो वो आदमी सहेन नही कर सकता कमजोरी कितनी आयेगी उसे।

        (2) में न्यू इंडिया इन्शुरन्स कंपनी में २००२ से लगातार प्रीमियम भर रहा हु। अगर मुजे ५ से ६ महीने से रेगुलर तकलीफ होती ओर मुजे पता होता कि मेरा ऑपरेशन करना पड़ेगा तो में आपकी कंपनी में मेरी पोलिसी पोर्ट क्यू कराता।

        (3) ओर जभी मेने आपकी कंपनी में मेरी पोलिसी पोर्ट कराई तब तक मुजे ये पता भी नही था कि मेरा आपरेशन करना पड़ेगा।

        जभी में देवांगी होस्पिटल में गया तभी मुजे बताया गया कि ऑपरेशन करना पड़ेगा। और रिपोर्ट निकाल ने को बोला।

        (4) ओर कभी भी किसी को भी कोई भी तकलीफ होती है तो पहले फॅमिली डॉक्टर के पास जाता है ना कि हॉस्पिटल में सर्जन के पास ।

        ओर २००२ से मैने मेरा आज तक कोई क्लेम नही लिया है।

        ओर कोई फॅमिली डॉक्टर हम जो बतायेंगे वो सुनके दवाई देता है ।

        ओर ये जो चेक करना है वो सरजन ही बता सकता है कि तुम्हें क्या तकलीफ है।

        तो मेरा कहना ये हे की अगर मुझे ये पता होता की मुझे अगर इस तकलीफ के कारण कोई भी ऑपरेशन करवाना पड़ेगा।

        तो मे मेरी पॉलिसी स्टार हेल्थ मे क्यो पोर्ट करता ? मे मेरी जो पॉलिसी चालू थी वोही चालू रखकर ऑपरेशन करवा लेता ना।

        आपकी कपनी स्टार हेल्थ मे मेरी मेडिकलेम पॉलिसी पोर्ट करने से पेहले न्यू इंडिया मे मेरी मेडिकलेम पॉलिसी २००२ से आजतक बिना ब्रेक और बिना सिंगल कलेम के चालू थी।

        आपका मेरा क्लेम रिजेक्ट करना बिल्कुल अयोग्य और गलत हे।

        आपसे हमारी नर्म गुजारिश हे आप हमारा कलेम जल्द से जल्द सेटल करे। अगर आप जल्द से जल्द मेरा क्लेम सेटल नहीं करते हो तो मुझे मजबूरन कंज्यूमर कोर्ट मे जाना पड़ेगा।

        इस से आगे कोईभी उनकी रनिंग पॉलिसी आपकी कपनी स्टार हेल्थ मे पोर्ट करने से पेहले १०० बार सोचेगा ।

        एक आम आदमी मेडिकलेम पॉलिसी क्यो लेता हे ? इस तरह परेशानी जेलने के लिए। अगर मेडिकलेम लेकर भी अपने जेबसे पैसा खर्च करना हे तो मेडिकलेम पॉलिसी की क्या आवश्यकता हे ?

                Insurance renewal period unable to remove mother from floater policy 2 month follow up No Resolution

                My mother has been having chronic vomit issues because of some gastrointestinal issues and after multiple consultations, we decided to consult her at JP Hospital at Noida, where doctor has advised us to admit her after looking her condition.

                We've Senior Citizen health insurance policy since 2017 and never claimed anything so this was our first experience, where it was very clear from the moment we requested pre auth that Star Health is not interested to approve the claim and finding reasons to reject. Below were the documents, which were requested -

                We require the following documents / details also :
                1.Submit duly filled pre-auth form with exact diagnosis ., estimation for further processing
                2. As per submitted documents, patient has h/o RFA in 2015 - submit its first consultation papers, discharge summary, prior treatment
                records (MANDATORY FOR FURTHER PROCESSING )

                I didn't understand why some condition which was diagnosed in 2014 can be important in 2023 and basis of rejecting the claim.

                Not only denial, Star has cancelled our policy saying that we didn't intimate her condition of 2014 so cancelling the policy -

                "As per the documents received by us, it is observed that the insured patient has been suffering from PSVT which is prior to inception of
                the first policy. Hence it is a pre existing disease. But the insured has failed to disclose this in the proposal form at the time of inception of
                the first policy. This amounts to concealment of material facts."

                My brother had faced the same challenge and his claim was rejected and decided to move away from Star health insurnace.

                My recommendation to everyone who is looking for Health insurance not to subscribe any policies from this company as they are never going to approve your claim since they don't care about patients and family.

                    We had hospitalized our son for treatment of Dengue from period 23/08/22 to 26/08/22. After discharge we filed claim with the required documents. After doing many document requirements and providing those documents Star health company rejected claim no CIR/2023/151119/0717692 saying admission not required.
                    Can you please help me we are having challenging financial situation and depression in family as we had paid for insurance premium as well as bill amount 35459 (hospital bill) and policy amount of Rs 10389.

                    This is really a big loss for us 35459+10389=45848.

                    It's more than enough now, please help me to get out of this chaos and fraudulent insurance company.

                            I, mrs. veena amin purchased a policy no : p/161130/01/2023/061279 in the month of july 2022, at the time of new policy start health didnt arrange any medical of mine, and before this policy i was having national insurance policy.
                            after 2 month, an problem arise in my breast ( blood discharge) i went to dr. sushil mandhaniya on 17/08/2022 after that it been 1st time seen that am suffering with carcinoma in situ breast cancer, for which i applied for cashless that time also my case been rejected.
                            on 6th sept2022 i been operated and on 8th evening i got discharge .
                            after that i applied for reimbursement, after many conversation star health replied that " my diseases is pre medical disease and i hide it while taking new policy " on this i ask to doctor to give me a medical certificate in which they must mentioned that when my first cancer been confirmed after biopsy . i sent all the document whatever star health needed but still after that they rejected my claim. and the final letter they send that my policy they will cancel which may occur from 3rd jan 2023. so now finally i am launching the complain against star health and allied insurance to consumer forum and court too for doing fraud with me . star health did fraud with me while purchasing of policy they didnt ask nor arrange for medical..

                              Dear Sir,
                              I have been using Star Health Insurance for past 7 years now and have been paying my premiums on time.

                              I am 72 years old dependent person with zero income.

                              My policy number with Star Health Insurance is P/231117/01/2022/008824 and ID card number is[protected]. My policy is registered under the product Senior Citizens Red Carpet Health Insurance Policy.

                              My health deteriorated in the month of August when all of a sudden blood in my stool was detected. My health deteriorated in such a way that I was unable to eat, sleep and pass stool. The doctors in Varanasi suggested I to show in a Metro city like Delhi, Mumbai or Gurgaon to get a proper treatment.

                              In a rush my family took me overnight to Delhi but my health further deteriorated in the train and had to be taken to CK Birla Hospital in an Ambulance as I was unable to breathe properly and was admitted in an emergency. As my condition wasn't stable my son took me to the hospital where his physician consultant is located.

                              In a wary of things we couldn't check that the hospital is not empanelled for Cashless but for a after reimbursement.

                              After getting discharged I submitted all the bills in a proper format but my claim is rejected. Can you please help in this grievance as I am a no income 74 year old person.

                              I got admitted to CK birla on 23rd August and got discharged on 26th August 2022. My Claim Intimation number is CIR/2023/231117/0724399

                                Dear sir, What is the advantage of giving intimation of any hospitalisation, insurance companies are being intimated for having flawless mediclaim procedural.
                                Even after giving information, respective medical personnel do not visit and check about the need and status of any patient's hospitalisation, then after how can be the mediclaim of that patient is being rejected and quary is raised about the claim.
                                Why we, as a CUSTOMER have to suffer if companies are unable to check and ### during hospitalisation. !!!
                                We as a CUSTOMER also suffer financial crises when the claim is being rejected and our money is on the toss. Also, the ICP documents are being judged by non degree personal and asking unnecessary questions to the doctors, this is how we are supposed get harrasment.

                                Sir, i would request you to solve this permanent problem on ASAP bases, because these companies are not treating patients very well.
                                Star Health And Allied Insurance customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
