TravelKhana — Frustrating experience with TravelKhana

We were group of 100 members travelling from Goa to Pune via train and selected TravelKhana to provide us fresh quality dinner at Belgaum railway station (expected train arrival @ 1930 hrs). Although, there were multiple other options available to us but we selected TravelKhana only because of its brand and hoping for fresh and best quality food in train. The requested advance payment was also paid to them almost 15 days earlier. During our journey we called the TravelKhana vendor an hour before to provide them an update on the train location and to check if our order (Ref # 39035) is ready. Always got positive response & also, received SMSs for the same. Surprisingly, even after the train halted at Belgaum railway station for 30 more mins for some other express train to pass, the vendor was unable to reach the railway station to deliver our order. We called the vendor multiple times to get an update but the response always was “it’s on the way…” Finally, the train left Belgaum railway station and the TravelKhana vendor could not make it on time. The TravelKhana vendor apologized for not reaching the Belgaum railway station on time and requested us to deliver our order at next railway station. The next railway station was Ghatprabha (expected train arrival @ 2110 hrs). Only after getting his 100% assurance that the food will be delivered at next station, we all agreed to delay our dinner plans. Again, at Ghatprabha railway station the vendor was unable to reach the station on time to deliver our order. This is extremely frustrating. To add more to the frustration, the train pantry was also closed @ 2100 hrs. TravelKhana had made our day so bad that everyone have to go to bed without having food on that evening. This was not expected from a brand like TravelKhana. From this experience we all have decided not to deal with TravelKhana in future since they are not trust worthy and do not understand their responsibility for doing an online business and are absolutely careless. Can any action be taken on such careless attitude ?

Just a humble request to all readers of these FORUM, Please spread the message to boycott this cheater TRAVEL KHANA. coz of these cheaters, many passengers are travelling without food. I have also travelled & starved for around 4 Hrs. Just imagine that you are with family & Kids, How will be your Journey without food. A big NO to TRAVELKHANA please...
While travelling in Teesta Torsa Express from Jalpaiguri to Sealdah I have booked for dinner at Malda town. The order was booked 4 days earlier by cash on delivery option. In the morning a phone came from Travelkhana to confirm my order. A message was also sent to confirm my order. Before the train reached Malda Town a message came asking me to keep my money ready and also the phone no of Malda Town food supplier. The train waited in Malda Town for fifteen minutes. At Malda Town I rang to the food supplier that the food has not reached. I was told the food was on the way. After the train left I rang again. The food supplier never rang me even once. I was told the food was sent but the train left. This was not expected from the best travel website getting the best IAMAI awards 2013.My order ID was 89840 booked on 24 Jul, 2014 and order date 28 Jul. Can anything be done?

I was travelling from nashik road to hazrat nizammudin railway station through train name LTT NZM SUPERFAST EXPRESS with train no. 22109 on 26th august 2014.
I HAD ORDERED FOOD VIA TELEPHONIC COVERSATION WITH ORDER NO.104086. AT BHUSAVAL JUNCTION .
MY OREDER WAS AS FOLLOWS

1) 2 NOS. BUTTER ROTI 
2) 1 NOS. VEG BIRYANI
3) 2 NOS. JEERA RICE
4) 2 NOS. DAL FRY
5) 1 NOS. DAHI

I JST WANT TO GIVE MY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE FOOD SERVED BY TRAVEL KHANA . WHICH WAS NOT UPTO THE MARK . I FOUND THESE PROBLEMS IN THE FOOD.

1) THE BUTTER ROTIS WERE HARD N WERE NOT HOT N NEITHER IT HAD ANY BUTTER.

2) THE VEG BIRYANI WAS VERY SPICY AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO EAT IT AND HAD TO GIVE IT TO SOMEONE.

3) THE DAL FRY WHICH WE HAD ORDERED DID CONTAIN LEHSUN AS WELL AS ONION AND WAS TOO SPICY TO BE EATEN WHEREAS WE HAD ORDERED A DAAL WITHOUT LEHSUN AND ONION.

4) DAHI WHICH WE HAD ORDERED WAS NOT SERVED AND HE (MR. IQBAL) COMPELLED US TO PAY RS. 380 FOR THE TOTAL BILL WHICH MEANS HE REDUCED JUST RS. 10 FOR THE DAHI.NEITHER HE OR YOU INFORMED US BEFORE MAKING THE DELIVERY THAT DAHI WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

5) ONE REASON THAT I COULD NOT EAT THE VEG BIRYANI WAS THE NON AVAILABILITY OF DAHI.

I AM NOT SATISFIED ABOUT THE SERVICES AND THE FOOD THAT WERE PROVIDED TO ME.THE FOOD WAS SERVED TO ME BY MR. IQBAL ON BHUSAVAL JUNCTION.
WHEREAS 3-4 days back WHEN I WAS TRAVELLING BY MANGLA EXPRESS TO MANMADH JUNCTION THE FOOD WAS SERVED TO US IN BHOPAL JUNCTION WAS AS PER OUR TASTE AND  THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT.
I KINDLY REQUEST YOU TO IMPROVE YOUR SERVICES AS PER THE CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT.
I had sent a mail on [protected]@travelkhana.com but didnt receive any further replies from your side..
I wld nt recommend any one for travel khana.com ..

I was travelling from jaipur to Mumbai and we have order our food at Abu Road station which arrive at 9.00 PM, we got all the confirmation mail and delivery person contact number an hour before however when our train reach at Abu Road Station..were it halt for 15 mins... Surprisingly FOOD WAS NOT Deliveried... we contacted customer care center and they simply told Sorry... and Thank You... This was just an WORST Service you ever get from Travel Khanna...

Dear TravelKhana.com, before some days i have place order with you people and i made biggest mistake in my life, order was endorse, there was message by you people sended across to me and that guy had arrange local Road food and he has send to me that food was unhygienic and unexpected and which absolutely not worth. That food i can say even animal won't eat, i have called to TravelKhana that guy was accepting ke he has arrange pathetic food for me and he was give discount of rs 100 for my next order and forcing me to eat that food, i have deny and not accepted food. Today I called to TravelKhana for placing order and asking for discount and they offer me only 30 rs on toal bills and the cll centre guys behaviour and his manger behaviour is not assepted from TravelKhana Now i can say travel khana had made me really cheating me on this stage. Does we have to pay for mistake of travelkhana? TRAVEL KHANA is a brand Name because of cll centre guys and cll centre management team one-day TravelKhana lose their marketplace. cheat with people.only fake commitment it is not a good thing to run the business.Also i post a complain on their web site but still now i not get any revert form travel khana site .today I placing a order with MFC hope the food should be good from mfc .

Hi i have Ordered 2 Veg Thali.My order no. is 466068 at AHMADNAGAR on 05-Jun, amount i paid Rs 310.While ordering I was assured by operator that I will get Paneer and sweet along with roti dal sabji and rice.But when I received my order and I asked that person about all items he said all items are in thali and immediately he left the train.When I opened the thali I didn't find any paneer sabji or sweet in thali instead there were very spicy egg plant veg full of chilly and other veg was just raw cut garlic full of chilly. I even couldn't eat a bite .Rice was half cooked .I had to throw all food as that was the worst food I have ever had.I paid money for good quality of food .But neither I got good food nor the item you mentioned in commitment to customers while taking order.You have very bad quality of service. You make false promises to customers. I want all my money back that I paid for worst food ever.I strongly condemned your services.

travelkhana is not eligible to get any STAR. WORSE experience many times with travelkhana, dont book any food from travelkhana, dont trust them. TRAVELKHANA IS failure company. they are not providing food on time.

Found Ant in the rice of food supplied at Ahmedabad Jn as food open after some time of supplied, immediate return was not possible.
Food thrown as it was not good to eat, as payment made in full.
I request to return my money ie Rs 155/- .

I had a family member traveling from Bagmati Express- 12578, i ordered food from travellhana.com which was delivered at Jabalpur Jn. The quality of food was pathetic! I repeat PATHETIC, the passenger had to suffer from food poisoning, it was of such bad quality. The food was from "Food On Wheels" restaurant near jabalpur railway station. Please don't buy food from this restaurant as you will eventually regret it. And travelkhana.com has lost me as its potential customer! Shame! Have some humanity.

I was traveling from Mumbai CST to Patna junction ...I couldn't find any pantry staff so I placed an order through this travel khana as my hunger was unbearable... But I was cheated by these creeps as no one arrived at Itarsi station to deliver the food...and due to this irresponsible behavior of there's
I had to starve the whole night.
It's ab humble request to the users that you should boycott this Travel Khana... And an humble request to the consumer forum is to ban this Travel Khana.
A great concept on paper, but poor execution and a very pathetic customer service. A good service is defined by its quality of customer support and Travelkhana does not have it.
I ordered food for my family in our train journey, paid full amount online but the delivery guy failed to show up. The delivery was at Gulbarga station around 7.00 p.m in the evening, just to highlight that its not a small place and certainly not a late night delivery. I ordered thru IRCTC who in turn placed the order thru Travelkhana. I dont know how that works, but I called IRCTC and placed my complaint.
Shortly someone from TravelKhana called me and they apologized and told me that the refund will be credited back to my account within a week. They even opened a complaint ticket for the same. But its over 1 month now (43 days) and no refund credited back to my account.No response to emails too. When I called back IRCTC they claimed that their system shows the order to be delivered. But I have an open ticket with Travelkhana. Why do these folks even collaborate when they can not even have a basic coordination. Or perhaps this is the way to earn money by tricking customers. Absolutely pathetic, and shameless thievery. Stay away from them.
I was travelling from Manmar (MR) to Delhi and we have order my food, I placed an order for 2 Plate ROTI & Vegetable and 1 Plate PURI & BHAJI .I got all the confirmation mail and SMS and number an hour before however when our train reach at KHANDWA (MP.) Station. Were it halt for 15 mins... Surprisingly FOOD WAS Delivered... where he give only 1 palte roti sabji in palce of 2,
I immediately contacted customer care center and they simply told Sorry...and can’t do anything you have to manage yourself . and Thank You.
This was just an WORST Service you ever get from Travel Khanna...
The delivery person who came in my coach was rushing for collecting money and by the time, I check the dish, he was hidden from the coach.

The thali was supposed to be delivered to another customer...

Order no 842182 dated 28 Mar 16 prepaid. 12577 bagmati Exp Nagpur. I ordered food for my parents A2/ 21. The food was not delivered. It was promised to be delivered next stn by SMS )[protected]. Mr omkar and Rahman of travelkhana expressed helplessness. Zero effort or concern total casual approach. Food was neither delivered at next station nor station after next. Felt so upset and anxious for old ailing parents. My question is:
1. What alternate does Travelkhana has in such case.
2. Are they not making money by not honoring prepaid order
3. What is the responsibility of the resturant
4. Should I not feel cheated by syndicate of travelkhana
5. will travelkhana blacklist the resturant
6. How Travelkhana will compensate the mental agony faced by me and both physical and mental agony faced by my parents

4 plain roti

i was traveled from NZM to jhansi i ordered to travel khana at AGRA station food deleverd in time but when we saw the food aap imagine nahi kar sakte itna ganda khana serve kiya gaya BUTTER ROTI sayad 2 days purani hogi jisme butter ka to nam hi nahi hoga.RICE mai smale aa rahi thi ALLO sabji kharab thi uske bad maine travel khana mai complaint ki to unke executive bolte hai ki sirf apki hi complaint hai kisi aur ne complaint nahi ki hai so please meri un sabhi passenger se request hai ki kabhi bhi TRAVEL KHANA se koi bhi order na kare

I didn't get the desired items I ordered (Order No: 928071 on 27th May 2017) and moreover the food quality was not suitable for humans. I couldn't opt for an alternative also due to the odd timing of food delivery which was at night time. I had kids in with me who suffered due to this. I lodged a complaint with TravelKhana.Com ( Issue [#52970] ) but no respite or action has been taken on my complaint till date. I need my order money back because I did not receive the items I ordered and a suitable compensation for my suffering due to their mal practice and poor service.
They had stolen my money through online payment..I picked food at rourkela junction and opted for online payment through the link sent by them ..they had stolen my 2000 rupees
never order me this site again. horrible experience..
travelkhana.com sent me a coupon of rs 40 for next order. after such an unpleasant experience.. you people still want me to favour you. read such more instances where your service at your lowest level. you first take responsibility of your own services.. take serious notes. otherwise it will cost you more then you think. coz we customers are evetything for you.
