I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a serious issue regarding a service I booked through Urban Company. On December 2, 2024, I scheduled a geyser installation at my rented apartment, which was carried out by your technician, Mr. Kumar Rakesh Ranjan.
However, on May 8, 2025, the installed geyser suddenly fell, causing significant damage to the bathroom tiles and the commode. Thankfully, no one was in the bathroom at the time of the incident. I live with my 7-year-old child and elderly parents, both over 70 years old, and the consequences could have been severe.
Assuming the installation was done professionally, I contacted Crompton (the manufacturer) for inspection. Their technician visited and informed us that the original steel washers provided for proper mounting had been replaced with plastic washers—typically used for fastening wash basins—by the Urban Company technician. This improper substitution compromised the safety of the installation and directly led to the fall.
I have raised this issue with Urban Company’s customer support multiple times, but I have only received generic apologies without any concrete resolution or accountability. This incident could have resulted in a serious accident, and I believe such negligence should not be taken lightly.
