Vodafone India — Complaining against non-blocking of IMEI number at Vodafone

Information available at Vodafore site that IMEI number of lost devices can be tracked and blocked. I have lost my mobile (having prepaid number [protected]) on Sept 22, 2015 and when I called for two times at customer care of Vodafone, they told me that IMEI of lost mobile can not be blocked by Vodafone. If not possible then why they are showing such information which is intact mislead to the customer. Pls resolve the same on urgent basis.
