Vodafone India — fraud call from[protected]

I received a call from no.[protected] at 3:15 pm today (27th aug 2018). He mentioned that i am making marketing calls from my mobile no.[protected] and my no. Will be deactivated within 24 hours.

I told him i work for a company, i am not doing any business nor i am making any calls for business. The caller mentioned that this instruction is from backend team. I told the caller that, i do get itemized bills and want to know who has complained i make marketing calls and asked caller to cross verify it.

Then i immediately called customer care and they told, there is no update in their system that my no. Would be deactivated. They gave mail id and asked me to write a mail immediately.

I also called back[protected] from which i got the call and that no. Is not reachable.

Subsequently, my no. Was deactivated. I wrote to various people.

Then i got to know that, vodafone and trai is claiming that with no.[protected] had made ucc to mobile no. 98454xxxxx on 22nd aug. I received my itemized bill and found that on 22nd aug i had made a call to 98454xxxxx. That no. Belongs to my office colleague.

I have below queries now.

1. Does making office call comes under ucc?
2. Does a single call makes calling no as invalid and doees it stands barred?
3. I would like to write to trai and please share trai mail id.
4. Until it is resolved, i am not going to make outstanding payment.

Then wrote to a customer care representative, as below:

Hello rajesh

I am 100% sure i have not made any telemarketing call. First thing is i am a working professional and i do not run any parallel business to make telemarketing calls.

Second thing whatever call vodafone or trai is claiming is the call made to my office colleague which does not fall under telemarketing.

Third thing is suspending a no without giving other person a chance to tell his side of story clearly violates the fundamental right of a citizen.in this case i am directly blaming both vodafone and trai. Even trai also did not bother check with service provider, in this case vodafone to check whether the call made was telemarketing or not.

In addition i get itemized bill every month and i openly challenge both vodafone and trai to show even a single call of telemarketing then i am ready to face legal aspects also.

What is the guarantee that my number is not hacked or what is the guarantee that someone might have simply raised a complaint that i have made telemarketing call. Without checking about authenticity of complaint or without giving a chance to explain my part, violates fundamental right and any court across india or across world give both parties to present their story.

I am not convinced with you or trai. Until i get justice i am not going to pay my outstanding dues. I am ready to challenge in any law of court as i have not violated any thing.

Also i am planning to lodge a complaint in crime branch if i do not get proper justice.

I am not sure how many people like me are been victim like this of false complaint or prey.

Hope i get justice.
