[Resolved] Vodafone India — My wife was charged rs. 12, 920 / - for just < 5 minutes of data usage when in dubai | |||||
We went to dubai 14th - 20th dec. My wife had international roaming activated. On 19th my son had switched on her mobile data to send whatsapp message to his friend (The message did not go through, though). This was for < 5 mins. Her mobile got switched off due to lack of charge. Next day my wife charged the mobile - but left mobile data on until evening 5 pm. No activity was performed during this period though on the mobile. On 21st dec. (Back in india) when she tried calling - her outgoing was already barred. On calling customer care, she was told that she had crossed her credit limit of rs. 9, 300. On going to the vodafone gallery (Mulund - west) - she was told that it will be activated only if she pays a minimum of rs. 8, 000/- immediately. On questioning the charges they said: "400kb of whasapp as used & 17.9 mb of playstore charges - which she had never used" they were unable to explain what was reason for the 17.9 mb - which we never used. & on what basis 12, 900 /- was charged.
