This is mostly because some Android or iOS app is using data in the background. In this case, Vodafone will not be able to help you as they will state that the app you installed consumed the data and will hold you solely responsible for it. This problem has happened to me as well, and I was advised to use a data monitoring app to make sure it didn’t happen again. The Bill Bachao app seems to gets the job done for me. It alerts me whenever my usage is reaching my limit, and it has useful reports that tell you which apps are using a lot of data.
