Respected Madam / Sir,

I am Mr. Andrew Madhu Shekhar, residing at Plot No. 76, Flat No. B-1 “B” Block, 3rd Floor, Muktha Nirmaan Apartments, Mount Poonamallee Road, Porur, Chennai-116, holding a mobile connection (numbered : [protected] ) with Vodafone - Porur Branch, Main Branch.

I would like bring to your kind notice :

I was a sincere and loyal customer in Vodafone using their service since 2014.

I am writing to complain about the way I was treated by Vodafone and would like the Consumer Forum to intervene and help me get the rightful compensation for the agony my family and me has been put through on the way my case was handled. Please take note of my service request numbers for the follow ups done to Vodafone

I have been incorrectly billed on my bill and did intimate Vodafone - Porur Branch to resolve the issue. I did not receive a concrete solution to my issue. I recently (i.e.05th Aug 2016) migrated to USA and before doing so I personally visited Vodafone Chennai Porur Branch and cancelled my Mobile no. (i.e.[protected]) in the same month i.e. Aug 2016. But to my surprise I received yet another Bill for the month of Sep 2016, for which I did settle the payment for the same instantly. Thereafter again I received yet another bill in the month of Oct 2016, which really irritated me and I had to call up the Vodafone Chennai Porur Branch for a clarification on the same. I spoke to Mr.Selva (Vodafone - Cashier) of the Vodafone Porur Branch who told me that there has been an error in my Billing Notice and to ignore the communication which was sent to me. After a few days I get some telecallers from Vodafone calling up my relation and using indecent language and firing my relation regarding my nonpayment of bill. I immediately escalated this issue to the Vodafone Team members who in turn reverted an apology letter stating there was a system issue and that my number was not actually cancelled. I was just taken back for the fact that why should a system not been rectified for three months and should the customer be harassed for no fault of his. On the very next day, to add to this humiliation my inlaws got yet another call stating that Vodafone was sending a Legal notice to me for having not paid my mobile bill.

This act of Vodafone really put a lot of stress to my family members as we all had no clue as to why this was happening in spite of me clearing my bills 3 months back. I would like the following:

1) An apology and compensation for my time taken and costs in the mental trauma caused to me and my family members.
2) A compensation of Rs.1 Lakh ( i.e. One Lakh Rupees only) for the trauma my family members was put into. That regarding this transactions I had to leave all important assignments in a capacity of a General Manager, which had an bad hit on my reputation with my superiors in my working organization as well. Moreover I feel strongly in secured, that this kind of transaction could have happened earlier and even may occur in future, without even the customer knowing about such bad service rendered by Vodafone Chennai Porur Branch.. Therefore, by the intentional act of Vodafone and its employees, has caused severe physical and mental agony to me and my family members for no fault of mine.

2. Kindly request you to act on this irresponsible, intentional, and negligence act of Vodafone and in order to protect other customers of Vodafone from such so-called negligence act..

Hence I call up on you to take actions on Vodafone – Porur Branch Chennai (India)..
