Vodafone — Sim card is not active since last 2 days

I got a new Vi sim card yesterday. I was told that the sim will be activated within 2 hours and then I have to dial 59050 for tele verification. I have tried for more than 48 hours - but upon dialing 59059, the call keeps dropping. I am not able to complete verification. There are network bars showing on my phone for the sim, but I am not being able to get through to 59050 for tele verification. The Vi agency I got the sim card says that the number I got is showing activated in their system. Vi customer care so far has been of zero use.
