[Resolved] Voltas — free service under warranty being denied by voltas on account of purchase from flipkart | |
Purchased a volta ac from flipkart a few months ago. I was told that the installation would be done by authorised volta service centre and hence when they came to install i assumed they were as mentioned. Recently an issue with the ac dripping little water from the vents made me call the volta customer care to book my first free service under warranty. Firstly, they had my number stored under a wring name and address and said that my product wasn't registered with them as the installation wasn't done by voltas and needed by flipkart isn't a voltas authorised service centre. They said i had to pay 400rs to register my product under warranty. They awnt a technician home from a surprised service centre (Breezy aircon), i paid 400, he checked the ac and said gas needs to be filled as there is a gas leak due to a looae bolt and that the concerned team would come and do it for free. 2 hours later 2 more technicians come to refill the gas. They meddle around with the outdoor unit and after 45 mins tell me i need to pay 1800 and that warranty won't cover it coz it was not installed by voltas. Then why did they already take 400 from me? Then he makes me talk to his centre manager who is so rude that he says i'm a fool to buy online and this is a result of that and smart people go to shops and buy. Almostpay see like he was punishing for for choosing online shopping. Then i call jeeves which is the flipkart installation partner and they also wash their hands if it saying after installation they have nothung to do with it. Then i called flipkart and had a gruelling 1 hour conversation with customer care who refused to do anything and told me it's mine and the brand's problem until i threatened to take it to their senior management. Finally they said they have "esalated" the issue, whatever that means and they will "try their best" to resolve it. Then i turned on my ac only to find that it doesn't even cool anymore. It's just blowing air, which means the technicians have needles either on purpose or by mistake and messed up the compresser. I have now lodged a complaint with voltas directly and they say they will call back in 24 hours but as with any indian customer care, i am not very hopeful. By far the worst service by multiple brands for one issue; voltas, flipkart and all service partners. Was this information helpful? | |
