Illegal passengers in the Reserved Slipper Compartment
I was travelling on train no 1058 with my friends on 25th December 2007, my compartment was S-6. Full train was filled with unauthorised passengers around 200+ passengers were travelling in the capacity of 72 slippers.
The corridor and the toilets were fully occupied with no place to move on. Luggages were piled in toilets and wash basin, hence making it unusable.
We try to lodge complaint with TT but he was helpless. There were no Police and to travel this way in night journey was very unsafe for the ladies and children.
We were told by the unauthorised passengers that this was their daily routine, and they travelled daily like this in the reserved compartments. This shows the hand in gloves relations with the railway authority of the unauthorised passengers.
I have taken the pictures of the train on my mobile and I will send it somebody who can lodge a formal complaint with the Indian Railways

IRCTC web service is a disaster. You would reach peak of your frustration booking tickets online. This low cost server always throws a message 'Unable to retrieve due to communication failure' whenever you search for station codes, check train no.s, check availability you name it. One time it took me almost an hour to book a ticket online. I would have better stood in the line at the reservation counter and bought it at the wrath of officers at the counter who are always rude and impatient. Why are they frustrated to do their own jobs? While booking tickets online 3 times the payment gateways charged the payment but didn't issue me the ticket. I had hell of a time getting the money reversed on my credit card. Looking at this website it seems like public outcry is unheard at the higher level. I've visited many countries and I seldom see bad customer service. The customer service in India is a menace to the society tarnishing the image of our motherland. Will someone take appropriate action? Do you empathize troubles experienced by people. You can name prominent worst service sectors starting with AIRTEL- a tragedy, ICICI, Citibank, IRCTC, Vodafone you name it. Please some one hear us and stop this

in the mail send for tatkal tickets, the cancellation policy is for normal tickets.
why cant it be mention that tatkal tickets cannot be cancelled once 24 hrs is passed. A cancellation button is kept and it cant do a checking and warn the passenger that the refund is zero as it is a tatkal ticket. once a layman user presses it u say ticket is cancelled with 0 refund. i cant even change my decision to continue with the travel as i am not getting any refund by not travelling.
atleast i shud be allowed to travel if there is no refund.
when i rang up railway employee he says travel rules are in some other site and the mail details are not applicable.
pathetic site.

I want to know if I cancel a ticket before the official cancellation of the train, is the railway authorised to deduct the cancellation charges. In view of the recent Gujjar movement I cancelled my ticket from Mumbai to Delhi and got the refund minus the cancellation charges which I complaint to the IRCTC, they said the deducted the amount as per their rules. I want to know whether any such rule does exists. Anyone can send their answers to sharad.mumbai@yahoo.co.in.

i want to know why mumbai local trains in central railways are some of 9 coaches & some of 12 for most of longer distances trains are of 9 coaches . i think so railway officials don't know how to manage or handle the crowd the crowd is increasing day by day but no action is taken only announcements are that today instead of 12 coaches 9 coaches train will arrive its idiotic & improper people in railways .
Best Regards

Day by day its becoming difficult to travel by central railways, especially in Ladies first class. first of all its too small and its just 14 seaters. The trains frequency is not very good, and worst of all the destinations we travel are very far so in the 14 seaters coach we have to stand through out the journey.
Besides there are many railway staff occupying first class when they dont carry the first class pass- neither there are ticket collectors who could check the tickets of thsoe who are non first class travellors. If you do not consider my request i dont mind appraoching news agencies cause day by day its becoming difficult to travel in ladies first class due to increasing first class population.

the new addition of berth in sleeper class between side upper & lower had increase 9 berth in compartment but it is more congested, unhealthier, unadjustable
i request to shri laloo prasad yadav to change this as per earlier
we r ready to pay more but cant able to travel such a inconveient manner for more than 12 to 50 hours
offcouse this is only a funda for increasing profit but plz. think of us
as we all know in a single compartment more than 50 waiting & non waitng passenger travel with having any seat reserve railway get huge profit from it & also from tatkal seva
if u calculate as per total cost & earning II sleper class get more profit than II & III A/C
at last if railway benefit more by II clase then my u r acting so negitive with middle class people
plz. make possible arrangement & make the 6+2 only

This is regarding harassments done by pass holders.
As I was travelling from Howrah to Dhanbad by train 2311(HWH-KLK Mail) the daily passengers ( Pass holders) occupied the entire reservation coach(S9) and harass each and every passenger including me. Their groups also hit individual passengers who were asking for a place to sit on their own reserved berths. Moreover the TTE(P.N.Singh) favored them and arrived for checking after the go down at Burdawan, As this was not a coincidence because I travel every weekend by this train to Dhanbad as the TTE was bribed now this kind of behavior is unbearable. safety must be provided to Individual passengers. Railway must be having some policy to treat pass holders.

I am a regular traveller of 2067/2068 janasatabdi express.During the last few months, I have noticed that this train has been badly maintained. The coaches and toilets are found to be very dirty and many a times cockroaches are found all over the place.Electrical fittings such as lights, fans does not work properly. Many switches are found to be badly fitted which may result in short-circuit etc.
At first when the train was introduced, I found that it ran almost on time. But now, very rarely it is running on time.
Also, I have observed that many passengers are allowed by the TTE without any valid tickets in between Dimapur, Hojai & Lumding stations. The TTEs were complained time to time, they did not respond. Whenever the complain book was asked for, they vanishes from the coach.
A strict action in these regards will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Dear Sirs/M'dm,
This is for your kind concern that being a regular passenger availing the facility of western railway service in first class i would strongly suggest the railway authority to kindly regularise the Ticket checking service on running trains.
The most of the first class compartments are full of passengers who even d'ont have 1st class tickets as such we are very much affected due to the same.
Hope you will do the needful to get rid of this nuisance ASAP.
Thanks & Regards

kindly reduce the problems of travellers who go to yeshvantpur (bangalore) via train no. 5015, by providing a pantry car. I travel on this route very often from kanpur to bangalore and it is really a very tedious journey as even in the AC bogies the food becomes stale on the second day and one needs fresh food. sorry to say what those so-called contractors gave the last time I travelled in december- food wrapped in a newspaper even the beggar to whom it was handed refused to take it. please see to it that a pantry car is attached ASAP. do not give step-motherly treatment to this train as the rapti sagar which is the other train on this route does have one.

On 19/07/2009 I was in S8 65 lb in GUJRAT MAIL 2901 with confirmed ticket. After some time TC came
and gave my berth to a RAC ticket holder and told me to move to a 3-Tier AC coach as my position was
UPGRADED. This was really insane but apart from that I was supposed to walk through all 8 boggies and
reach to B-1. This was impossible for me. I requested many times to allow me to travel in my alloted berth. Many sojourners also requested to TC.After along time the matter was finished and I travelled in the
same S8 65 on that Day.
But do you think this was the right attitude from INDIAN RAILWAYS the great

i was travelling by train no.2628 in sleeper class on 20 Feb 09 vide ticket no. 43382412 and pnr no.2201352272 from Delhi to Bangalore city.. I was allotted with side upper berth no.56 in S-4 coach, which was quite uncomfortable.it was very difficult to get on the berth. There were lot of passangers more then three times of capicity of coach. There was very difficult to go to toilet because of too crowed .TT has allowed the passangers after taking money from them.i reported this to TT but he did not take any action as he allowed the passangers. Again i reported this problem to next TT Mr. Umesh Kumar at about 15;00 hrs on 21 feb 09.He called the RPF personnel at next station.RPF came and started harassing me..RPF stated that waiting list person will also travel in same coach and you keep quite. May i know that under which railway rule waiting list ticket holder are authorised to travel in reserved coach?
