Bajaj Auto — Bajaj Bike Crankshaft failed under 18,500 Kms, bike under warranty yet charging 15,000 INR

Subject: Complaint regarding Crankshaft and Camshaft failure in approx. 18, 300 kms. whereas Bajaj claims max. 75, 000 km guarantee on their websites.

Dear Bajaj Team,

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding misinformation provided about the warranty benefits on my bajaj bike (Pulsar NS200 BSVI), specifically the engine warranty. As a responsible owner, I have diligently adhered to the required maintenance schedule and service guidelines, yet I am now facing a serious issue with my bike's crankshaft & camshaft at just 18, 300 kilometers, which I believe is covered under the 5 years of zero depth warranty period. Now the service centers are turning their back and charging 15, 000 INR.

To clarify, the following five (5) services were completed at an authorized service center, as per recommended intervals.

Moreover, the bike was prior checked at Autoden Bajaj for brake pads, bearings & electronics before mechanical failure. Latest engine oil change was on October 11, 2024 which is Motul 20w50 fully synthetic just before the issue arose on October 17, 2024.

Given that the engine warranty is clearly stated to be 5 years or 75, 000 kms on the website, I find it unacceptable that the crankshaft has failed after only 18, 300 kms o[censored]sage. Additionally, I am also concerned about the part swapping and strict imposition of changing the engine oil solely at authorized service centers only.

My bike kept having problems after my 5th servicing at Suraj Bajaj, including shutting down, autostart issues, and low mileage. They suggested cleaning the throttle body and later replied it could be due to the new software update. ECU was replaced twice.
This practice seems to unfairly restrict customers' choice & creating a monopoly on basic maintenance services from oil to spare parts, and also inflates extra service costs unnecessarily.

Please let me know how you plan to resolve this matter, as I don’t find Bajaj bikes anymore reliable.

P.S. Submitted 5 Service History Invoices.
