Inordinate delay in servicing and misbehavior of counter staff
I have given my american tourister trolly bag for replacing one of its wheels at new horizon at burdwan in west bengal almost 2month ago, till date it is undone by the company and the behaviour of the counter staff is very very rude. He is used to abuse the customer rather than entertaining. My earnest request to the company is to probe against this matter.

Hi, I bought a trolley of american tourister from their dealer's store in Sodpure on 16th December, 2014. After some month I faced a problem with a wheel of backside. I went the store they sent the trolley for servicing and changed a wheel without any charge. Because It was in guarantee period. Now same problem arise, but they say no free service for wheel in guarantee period and a pair of wheel have to changed. Otherwise for disbalance other wheel will damaged. Now, my question is, 1st time they changed one wheel, according to their rule the wheel damaged for disbalanced situation which is happen for changing one wheel. Then why I have to pay for this??

Sir, i have bought a trolly bag in last december and i found that one wheel is damaged .my product is under 3 years warranty and today i have contacted to my nearest service centre they are saying that we do not deals with your problem you have to go chandigarh for servicing or go to that place where you have bought that product.

Zip main compartment need to replace

I brought American Tourister [66 Cm, purple colour, Multinumber 41321572, Part code 35T(1)50017, DC SUPERLITE II) on 03 Aug 2014 with 3 Years Warranty. Last month (on 22 Nov 2015) i found that my main compartment zip is unserviceable, immediately i contacted to Indranagar, Bangalore Service centre with my trolley bag. they told me it will take 15 Days to repair (Service invoice No 18844 dated 22 Nov 2015). But after 15 Days, when i contact them again then they said we don't have purple colour zip, so either you wait for another 15 days or will replace it with black colour zip. i said please demand for purple zip, by that time i will wait as black colour zip look very odd in purple colour. Now after 1 month, they are still not able to provide me back to my trolley bag.
there are few question:
American Tourister is such a big brand then why they take such a long time period for replacing such a small thing. They have many showroom in bangalore, why don't they arrange it from there and if they are not able to arrange it then why they exchange it with new trolley bag.

Zip damaged
I bought a backpack from klia and it stated there warranty for two years. Recently I have problem with the zip soi decide to call up American tourister In malaysia just guess what they told me, they say if I buy in klia I have to go back to klia. Ok and I did go back to klia duty free. The manager there told me is no problem is world wide warranty but they don't do it there. So how now? Where can I send it for warranty now?

I have purchased one American tourister suitcase (AT Excel) on 20th September 2014 from CSD in Bangalore with a 3 year warranty. I have been facing quality issues with the product from March 2015 (within 6 months of purchase) and trying to contact AT customer care from 11th April 2015 (Saturday).
Firstly, I searched for the AT service centre on the company’s portal (http://www.samsoniteindia.com/service-center.html) and visited the below mentioned address which is nearest location to me, but the AT people there told that it is only a sale outlet and not a service centre.

I tried to contact to the above mentioned telephone number and email address (from the portal only). The telephone number provided was not in service and there was no reply to the email I had sent. I tried to contact the customer care at [protected]@samsonite.com, [protected]@samsonite.com, , [protected]@samsonite.co.in, but didn’t receive any reply from any one.
Then, I got to know from a friend of mine, that there is a Samsonite showroom and a service centre at 100 ft road, HAL 2nd stage, Indiranagar. Because o[censored]navailability of time during the weekdays, I contacted the service centre on 18th April 2015 (Saturday). The person at the centre took the suitcase from me and told me that an engineer will contact me after assessing the product whether it is repairable/ replaceable under the warranty.
The engineer told me on 21st April 2015 (Tuesday) that the product is neither repairable nor replaceable under the warranty and I should collect it back from him and I collected my suitcase back on 25th April 2015 (Saturday).
Now my concerns are:
1- Being a company, AT is ought to say that the product is not covered under the warranty and being a customer I will say that it should be covered under warranty. Now who will decide that in whose court the ball will fall?
2- AT product quality is so much poor that it got damaged within 6 months only, whereas, I am using other company’s products since last 10-15 years without any problem. AT should improve the product quality.
3- AT should update their portal for the correct information about the service centres so that customers can save their valuable time and it would be easy for them to locate the centres.
4- AT should reply the customer’s e-mails to serve better and keep them satisfied.
Please help me out. Let me know if you require any other detail.

Low quality item with poor international warrenty and repair service.

I bought samsonite American tourister 79cm trolley suitcase. its handle design is very poor its zip misplaced while opening and closing. It have capacity of 40kg but handle broken at lifting 35 kg on hand. It have 3 Year international warranty but they don't have English speaking customer care number and emails. So i applied for claim. I was shocked while they replied. Those damage not cover under their warranty. And they quote around Rs:22000 for repairing this in japan. The new one only costs around 9000. And i have to pay for the transportation and dispose cost while they reject warranty.

Luggage bag - Repairing Problems

Hi,
I had bought two American Tourister suitcase in Feb 2014 from Maharaja-The Luggage Shop, Mumbai. But unfortunately wheel of one the suitcase has been damaged. We have taken that suitcase with warranty card for repairing to a shop named Bimal Brothers it located in Tower Chowk, Darbhanga, Bihar. Its a American Tourister franchise. But that shopkeeper is telling it will be not repaired here, from where you have purchased you have to take that suitcase in that shop.
I am hearing it for the 1st time that if you take any branded thing then it can be repaired across India. So please look into this matter.

I had purchase a bag from army canteen guwahati. I had 3 years warranty period but after two years the wheels are broken. I meet the service center they are telling me that it is missed used but one wheels is totally broken and one is going to broken same like 1st one. They are charging 700 rupees.

warranty repair harassment

My American Tourister suitcase was purchased in 2012 and its still under warranty till 2015. my suitcase handle got broken due to mishandling by the airport staff. Today I went to a dealer for repair, the dealer asked me to bring the small handle cover and the screws then only I will get the free repair otherwise I will have to pay for the repair. after arguing with him the dealer asked me to leave the suitcase and after one week when company executive will come he will then tell if this can be repaired for free or not. at the time of purchase we are told that there is international warranty and now when we claim in our own city then also we face so much harassment and misbehavior by the dealers of American tourister.please help me and guide me how can I sue the company in the court.

BAD QUALITY OF AMERICAN TOURIST BAG

One American Tourist Bag was purchase from Central Shopping Mall Store Raipur in the month of JAN 13. We were told that the company is giving Guarantee and warranty for 3 years from the purchase. The cost of the bag was Rs 5,000/- and I purchased the bag from the Store.
Next week my plan was to go to Delhi in plane and I took the new bag which I purchased from the store. I found that the quality of the bag is very bad and hopeless and the company American Tourist is sarcastically below the standard.During my first visit the plastic part of the bag got separated and the rod came out from its original position. I was shocked and immediately on my return to Raipur, I took the bag to the company and asked for the replacement against the Guarantee and warranty clause which was rendered to me. The company person clearly refused and told no such Guarantee can be offered in such situation and nothing can be done in this matter.
This clearly shows the cheating on part of Amercan Tourist and I would suggest nobody should purchase the bag of American Tourist and I would be the last person to purchase any more products of American Tourist.I am going to take the matter to Consumer forum and will not leave the company.
The product of American Tourist are most hopeless and deteriorated from each and every angle.

INNER BOARDS BROKEN

SOFT LUGGAGE - AMERICAN TOURISTER ----BY SAMSONITE - SERIAL NO: Y 12 00 065 AT ASCENT 65CM RED with inner lining board broken has been handed over to your authorised dealer "Samsonite Store" at Coimbatore on 11.1.12 along with the relative Warranty Card dated 23.6.2009. Warranty is for 3 years.
I understand your service personnel whose next visit to Coimbatore is likely to be at the end of the month. Following his inspection and approval, the showroom has to seek written approval. After approval it is further followed by sending the damaged luggage by transport for further inspection at your factory or whatever place you have facilities and thereafter an approval should be awaited for replacement.
Then follows the availability of similar stock in the showroom. All these may perhaps take about 6 to 8 weeks OR EVEN MORE
Being an American company you should be aware of the methodology of consumerism and how one gets replacement or money back on the spot failing which the consequences are well known in USA as well as elsewhere in Europe and even in Middle East. I do understand certain constraints in India but not this kind of delay by weeks/ months. Having lived abroad and toured around the world with hands on experience in USA, I feel there is an undesirable delay in the bureaucratic process of honoring a warranty. I bought in all 3 sizes of one going into the other and this is where I am stuck with your avoidable delay. What happens if I am a tourist and moving to my next destination?

Broken Zippers after 2 trips
I purchased an American Tourister suitcase in November 2010. Have taken it on two trips. When I reached Albuquerque on the second trip, the zippers on the outside pocket were both snapped. I am amazed that I did not lose the book that was inside this pocket. Who's to blame, the airline industry for treating the bag so badly? or the luggage company that gives you a ten year warranty with the bag but I'm unable to find a web site to get reimbursed for the bag.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have purchased 1 back pack from Fort William Canteen on[protected]. After 2 weeks onwards I started using it. I use the bag twice in a week. From 4th week onwards, it started disturbing me. On the 4th week its Zip Puller came out from 1 of the chain on 24th June. Then I get repaired from KIRON Samsonite (RASH BEHARI AVENUE BESIDE SONY WORLD, KOLKATA-700029, Phone:+[protected] and get back it on 03-07-11. Then after few weeks o[censored]se stitches got removed from 4 different places & then again I took it KIRON Samsonite for repairing on 31st July and get it repaired back on 14th August. This time KIRAN Samsonite has assured me that they’ll instruct the serving centre to make a full stitch of the whole bag. When I went there to receive the bag I saw the bag is stitched but a discrepancy is there, in the bottom I saw the stitch was not done properly some. Out of the 4 parts where the stitches got removed, 1 part’s stitch was not done properly. I told them that this hasn’t been accordingly and this would remove soon after using few days o[censored]se. They told me to use it & if any defect arises then I should come again. The incident which I was thinking of yet to happen was happened again on 10th September and I took it again to KIRON Samsonite for repairing. The place which I doubted while receiving on 14th August has happened again i.e. the stitch gets removed from the place again due to bad stitching from your servicing centre. You give 18 months of product warranty, and within 3 months out of 18 months the product got damaged thrice. I generally use the anything whether it is a bag or something else, I use it very carefully. If you see the condition of the bag, then you’ll see it how good its condition is. If you place my bag near a new bag you don’t get any difference between old & new bag. If this was your product quality, then I don’t think I would recommend next time any one to buy your product. It may hamper your goodwill due to your defective or poor product qualifies. Now I think it’s your company’s responsibility to rectify the errors while making any quality product so as to overcome the defects in manufacturing. So what should I do, should this repetitive repairing work be continued for me within the purchase of 3 months or should I get a new replacement bag without any manufacturing defects since after getting the new bag as replacement?
Let us consider that you have provided me a new replacement, then in that case should I again get 18 months of warranty, or you won’t provide this warranty as you have given the new replacement bag. Please clarify. And it is my humble request to take necessary measures while making any quality product because after buying such an expensive product if the customer won’t satisfy then he or she may not go for branded products again and not even recommend any one to buy your product. So please take necessary actions against this. Hope you’ll look into the matter with care.

I purchased an American Tourister bag Exp Upright 64 for Rs 3320 in July 2010 from Lifestyle outlet. I have used it only once since then. On my 1st trip itself the cloth on the bag piping has torn off. This bag was loaded in the luggage on the plane.
I am really disappointed as when i asked for the repair I was told the company does not provide any for the cloth getting torn off. The hard base has is also uneven now. I am really upset that the brand like this uses such a low quality material and charges so high and has no repair facility. This is rediculous and annoying as after paying so much such a filthy product is given to us. With so many brands in market I feel the company should concentrate on the quality. I will definatly not go for this brand again after such an experience.

I bought American Tourister bag from Walmart USA, with in one trip the trolley broke and the wheel is also almost gone. The quality is very bad. I gave it for service at Twenty 4 Luggages at Jayanagar. They don't even bother to tell you, how long it will take. When I called them, they told me to call the service engineer. Am I suppose to call their service engineer. Service Engineer then tells me that its the shop fellows responsibility and not his. I raised a complaint on American Tourister Website, but no response from them also. I would advice people to not buy any product of American Tourister. Pathetic service, pathetic quality.

My bag broke after the second trip. Apparently Delta baggage handlers dropped or threw something heavy on the back of my bag and dented the metal enclosing the retractable handle. Now it does not retract. It will be about $45 to repair it. I bought the whole set for $74. Guess that is why it broke. I have no-name suitcases that have traveled many, many times with the airlines and this has never happened. When I shop for a new bag, I will be sure to see how strong that particular mechanism is and how sturdy the area is surrounding it. To find a repair center, go to www.americantourister.com.
