Today i was travelling in an ac24 route bus from ballygunge to patuli. The behaviour of the conductor was rude & harsh towards the passengers specially the ladies. Since the bus was coming from howrah so inspite of having a bag full of change he denied to give me a 100 rs change & his language was harsh whereas to get the full fare he gave a 100 rs change to a lady just after me. He behaved badly with another young lady & well as an aged...

non-issuance of ticket in howrah-bound ac 12 bus
Address: Kolkata, West Bengal, 700001
Website: cstc
This is an incident of howrah-bound ac 12 bus (No. 05 1806) which passed through bbd bag around 10-07 am. A group of passengers got down at dharmatalla, the conductor took rs.200/- from them, returned rs.20/- but did not issue any ticket for rs.180/-. When challenged, the conductor denied the fact and said that ticket was duly issued. It is not true. We being passengers of ac 12 from its inception, such kind of irregularity hurts us.

inhuman behaviour of driver
Address: Kolkata, West Bengal
I was on board a 7A route bus 24/5/2018 at about 11.34 hour. Boarded at sarsuna and got off at esplanade mayo road (copy of bus ticket no 02132 attached, bus no WB04C9958) .
The driver seemed so busy that he didn't care to pickup and drop passengers at proper stops. And the most inhuman case was that a lady aged around 70 was to get off the bus at behala 14 no bus stand but she was dropped at next stop i.e. at behala Thana bus stop that too after repeated requests. Not only that, the driver stopped the bus on the right side of the lane and made her get off the bus in the middle of the road forcing her to negotiate her way through all those running cars which is, MY GOD, so dangerous.
I took a photo of the driver, but I don't want to defame him publicly. Hence I request to the cstc authority to take necessary step to stop such menace and ensure commuters' safety.
Thanks
Biswajit

delayed service
Address: 741101
Krishnagar to ultadanga. Bus no wb63 a5373 started from farakka on 14/05/2018 morning and reached krishnagar at about 12-10 pm. But the bus waited there for more than half an hour, as another bus of wbtc crossed that place before the nbstc bus left krishnagar. I got this bus from krishnagar and had to visit my office at kolkata in time. So i requested the bus conductor to follow the punctuality, but he abused me inside the said bus and insulted me.in the present day of good service from nbstc, i ask you why do the bus conductor misbehave with the passenger and do not follow the time schedule during the journey. If i don't have any satisfactory reply, i will proceed to the appropriate authority. Regards.

Bus no: wb07j0886 date: 29/11/2017 time: 22:45. The bus routed through wrong rout. It supposed to take right turn after nikko park rather than go straight and meet sector v at rs software bus stop without prior notification to passengers. The pssengers of swastha bhaban, sdf and weble stop are forced to get down at rs software stopage. All passengers had to walk long to reach their respective destination or had to take other connecting bus.

Irresponsible and rude conductor

Sir my self boarded a cstc bus routed from howrah to dunlop around 9 p. m from burrabazar mg road. i boarded the bus as it stopped near satyanarayan park and asked the driver to halt as my father a senior citizen was following me. the bus didn't stopped properly and my father was about to slip at the time of boarding. i asked the conductor sitting just beside the gate to why he didn't helped in stopping the bus when he clearly saw that a senior citizen was boarding the bus. first of all he argued with me that burrabazar is not a stoppage so he is not required to stop and he doesn't want to be get fined by the traffic police. but to my knowledge burrabazar is a stoppage on mg road. i argued with him to which he started a heated argument with me that it his not his responsibility to stop the bus. he said he didn't invited me to board the bus. i asked him to show the chart for the stoppage to which he refused and argued to go to police station to enquire about the chart. he abused me for a long time with a very heated argument being totally unaware of his responsibility. my father could have slipped down while boarding the bus. the strange part is that the conductor instead of feeling negligent started arguing with me with totally wrong excuses. is this the type of service and behaviour we expect from a sate bus transport. instead of helping the passengers to board the bus he is arguing with them with totally wrong facts. how shameful of him. i request the concerned department to please take strict action against such irresponsible conductors. my ticket numbers are 5883833/4.i could not properly note the registration of the bus number but it was something WB 05 005. route enlisted on the back of sign board was S- 32. the bus had cctvs installed which may help you to study the whole incident. i hope these details may help you to identify the bus and the conductor. in anticipation of your reply.

Misbehaviour and cancellation of Ladies Seats
Address: West Bengal
Respected Sir,
I am a daily passenger from bally halt to haldiram stoppage. today on 19/07/11, when I boaded the bus on bally halt( Bus No. WB 04 E2092 ) at 8:50 am along with some more ladies passenger I found that Ladies seat reseravation primarily when the bus started was 10 now it has come down to 6 , out of which 3 seats were reserved by ladies and the rest by gents. I requested the gents to leave us the seats but they did not and told us that those seats were general and they will not move if the conductor do not say so, so we called the conductor but he did not ranwer to it instead kept laughing while lots of gents passangers kept on tonting us as we were kept standing . So, I on behalf of the rest of the Ladies want to know whether CSTC buses from Dankuni to Park Circus are having ladies seat reservation or not if yes then why are we harassed by the conductors and if this type of conductors are not removed from service then we , Ladies can not say that we are independent in this state. Expect the culpit to be punished and save us from being victimised.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Arpita

NBSTC — No reserved seats for handicapped
Bus of WBSRC no 9221(ticket no : 7738 printed bus no in ticket WB41 / C 9675), route Dhakhineswar to Naktal does not any reserved seats for handicapped. I find no justification towards reservation of seats for ladies in public bus specially during office time.
I think in the olden days ladies are socially meant to stay at home. During that time they really faced problems when coming out in public. So at that time seat reservation for ladies was justified. But today the scenario has changed. Ladies had become advanced. They come out to earn their living on their own. Also the advancements of women in various sorts of sports like cricket, hockey, martial art, swimming, etc. invalidate the fact that ladies are physically weak than men. So they can also stand like men while traveling in a bus.
On the other side, the scenario has got more worse. Most of the ladies have developed bad mentality by virtue of the advantages they are empowered to take. Sometimes they harass old aged persons. Sometimes they occupy general seats even if the ladies seats are vacant. One day a young girl started arguing with an aged person to prove that he should vacate the seat for her for that was a ladies seat. So how that seat was ladies ? Just because a small sticker marked 'L' was stuck on the corner of the window pane just beside the seat. Actually 'L' meant the left side window panes. Actually all the left side panes were marked 'L'. Similarly 'R' was also there on all the right side window panes. She thought that if by any means she manage to take that seat she could comfortably travel home. Also that was not at all a seat. It was the elevated portion just above the front left wheel.
If we see other buses where there are no ladies seats, where seats are occupied according to first come first serve basis, there the situation is completely different. Gents as well as ladies get equal opportunities there, and sometimes, although rarely, seats are also offered to standing individuals by the seated persons especially to ladies. Also seats are offered to standing aged persons. That should be the actual scenario.
So there is not any justification for reserving seats for ladies in public transport especially in office time. However there should be seats reserved for physically challenged and senior citizens.

Sandip

Dear Sandip,
The situation was based on a bus where the seat reservation for Ladies was present, so what should be done about reservation is not the topic of the issue, neither your views on reservation is asked by the State Government. So, the issue is of misbehavior and not maintaining the social behavior in a bus and should have the minimum knowledge of being gallant. Here, your pointing out the issue of reservation is nothing but your own inner grievance against women ( may be for your personal reasons).
Thanks & Best Regards,
Arpita

Dear Arpita,
I do not have any personal reason for commenting against ladies seat reservation. If I had, then I would have opted for some seats reserved for gents too. I have actually mentioned for equal opportunity for all.
Your mentioning of the countdown of the number of ladies seats indirectly shows that you are deserving ladies seats reservation so that you can enjoy the opportunity of getting seats by depriving others who are really meant to sit on that particular seat.
Unless otherwise anyone has used slang languages, I think that was not any misbehavior or harassment as you have mentioned. Seat reservation for ladies may be or may not be a government law -- I really don't know. I have also seen that there are not any ladies seats even in some government buses. But from the viewpoint of gents passenger, ladies seat reservation is unjustified and ladies has got addicted in enjoying the opportunity. So, only if you can show valid reasons that there should be reserved seats for ladies, then only it can be mentioned as misbehavior/harassment. What has happened to you is that, as if a passenger is arbitrarily choosing someone sitting, and telling him/her to vacate the seat.
Your mentioning of laughter of the conductor and protest by many gents passengers shows that you might have done the same thing like the girl I have mentioned in my previous post. It might be that you have seen any pattern, inscriptions, or any thing else and claiming that seat to be ladies seat.
I think conductors also have doubt whether ladies should be given priorities in acquiring seats or not. So it is better for them to keep silent.
Thanks,
Sandip,

Dear Sandip,
Firstly, you are not sure about the law, yet you are commenting on the issue, I appreciate your innocence on the subject of law but in that case your views will not be considered viable.
Secondly, We need judgement from a individual, who may be a Judge by profession too, who can think rationally with out taking anyone's side so that the judgement is not baised. And in your case you have already mentioned that "from the view point of gents passanger" which shows that you point of view is affected by biasness, hence you comment is a invalid comment in terms of law.
A court do not give value to a biased comment, it is only governed by law itself.
Thanks & Best Regards,

Dear Arpita,
If my comments are biased, then I wouldn't have mentioned "equal opportunity for all". Instead I would have demanded reserved seats for gents also. On contrary to that your desires, complaints and demands are absolutely biased, because you deserve opportunities in favor of yourself(ladies) so that you can simply enjoy them.
Yes, you are right, I am not sure whether ladies seat reservation is really a government law. Because, I have not seen them on television or newspaper, didn't heard them on radio, didn't read them in the books. Only I have read in my childhood in the MORAL SCIENCE book that we should offer opportunities to aged, ill and physically disabled. Do the ladies fall among the above three categories? Obviously not. Can't the ladies stand? So why should there be seats in buses which are only meant for ladies.
Are you sure if it is a government law? If it is then it requires amendment. Please try to see it from your moral eye. It was valid and good in olden days when ladies were backward in society. Now they have become forward -- better to say over-forward by utilizing their extra social advantages. Sometimes they involve in immoral acts by utilizing them and men/boys become helpless in some situations. Please don't take it otherwise. I am not telling you also do so. Some do it.
Also it is to mention that I have seen no gents have ever claimed that a particular seat is not meant for ladies if it actually is. Only they protest whenever any lady comes and try to forcefully prove that a particular seat is a ladies seat as I have mentioned before in my previous posts. So how much valid is your complaint of misbehavior needs further clarification. So there might be some mistake with you.
