Cold Drinks Complaints & Reviews
Dev
| Address: Jalgaon |
I went to the cold drink seller "Murli Manohar" near Ajanta Chowfuli in Jalgaon city (Maharashtra) today to buy cold drinks at a higher price than the MRP. I have complaint their owners, they also said that each bottle would cost five rupees more than MRP. The MRP rule does not apply to us. If you want to take it, take it, otherwise go ahead. However, we should take proper notice of this and take action.

Selling products more than mrp
| Address: Cachar, Assam, 788013 |
In silchar, cachar, assam the shopkeepers, the retailers are charging more than mrp of the product. I purchased a 300 ml coke - mrp rs. 15, and was asked to pay rs. 20. When i questioned him why re 5 more, the reply was cooling charges. Isn't this cooling cost included in the profit??? And there stood the coke salesperson too, and the same reply came from him..
We pepole are working hard to earn money, and these people are steal on our money.
We argued them a lot of times but they dont give at mrp.
1.Cold drink 300ml--mrp rs[protected]selling price rs 20------rs 5 extra
2.Cold drink 600ml--mrp rs[protected]selling price rs 40---- rs 5 extra

Extra charge
| Address: Maharashtra |
I do not know whether this complaint is going to be taken into consideration or not but still I feel I should be heard because I'm not writing this for me this is for the entire nation and is very much related to corruption. this is regarding the extra charge taken while drinking cold drinks. A 10 rupee Coke is charged for 13 rupee by the shopkeepers and when asked for explanation of extra 3 rupee, they say it is for keeping it cold. This is totally wrong. No where it is written that we people should be paying 13 rupee for a 10 rupee cold drink. I do not know whether actions will be taken or not but this is absolutely wrong. Please do something, I know 3 rupee is not a big deal but after this is wrong and if we do want to abolish corruption from this country, we have to stop all this from happening.

Absolutely agreed ! Same thing is Hyderabad also... I am sick of fighting with these thieves... they are stealing openly in front of everyone's eye, and I wonder why know one is protesting about this, most of the people are simply giving money without caring about it ! this is simply wrong..

Is your soft drink vendor taking you for a cool ride?
Simit Bhagat | TNN (Times of India - 8th May 2010)
Mumbai: How many times have you shelled out more than the MRP on a bottle of soft drink or milk as “cooling’’ charges? Well, if the answer is several times, you can take a cue from residents of Mumbai and Thane, who have lodged a complaint with the state legal metrology department (LMD) against shopkeepers who take consumers for a ride.
Going by the data compiled by the LMD, between April 2009 and March 2010, 53 cases were slapped on shopkeepers, who were found charging more than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) on soft drink bottles. The department has also booked another 96 of them for “fleecing’’ people buying milk bottles and cartons.
The accused shopkeepers were found violating the Standards of Weights and Measures Rules, 1987. Under the rules, it is an offence to sell a packaged commodity at a rate higher than its MRP and removing any such information or label from the packet. However, the rule does not apply to packaged products sold at restaurants, where the product is served and hence attracts, service charges.
Ankush Dhanvijay, controller of LMD, says, “Many shopkeepers ask consumers to pay extra on cold drink bottles as cooling charges. But it is an offence to sell a packaged commodity, including cold drinks and milk bottles, at a price higher than their MRPs. As many people are not aware of the rules, the shopkeepers exploit them.’’

Cold Drinks — Charging Way above MRP
I purchased Thums Up of MRP Rs 23 but the retailers / railway vendors charging Rs 24 / Rs 25. ie extra charge Rs 02 as cooling charges.Extra charges is not taken by any company its charged by sellers only to get extra profit over profit given by company.
Plz look into it it as in single day many peoples have to extra charge.
Cold Drinks — CHARGES MORE THAN MRP
Charges more then MRPIn Mangaon(ST stand) all the dealers of cold drinks of all brands charge Rs.5-6 extra then MRP charges and sell the cold drinks without bill. When we ask for higher charges they rudely say, "ghyaychay tar ghya nahitar theva saglikade yevdech paise ghetat".
I request you to please provide us a solution.

Price demanded 25% more than MRP
A normal 500ml bottle of cold drink of any brand is labelled with an MRP of Rs. 20/-. Almost all shops sell it for around Rs. 25/- asking the extra charge as refrigeration tax(approved by govt.). This is not in the welfare of the customer as MRP is inclusive of all taxes and the customer does not need to spend anything over the MRP. This sort of attitude simply indicates neglect of duty and contempt for the govt. Something ought to be done in this regard.

Standard name of the product, net weight, month of manufacturing, packaging, importing
As many people are not aware of the rules, the shopkeepers exploit them.’’

sale of products at more than MRP
Respected sir,
This is to state that i have just made a journey to shirdi(karnal to manmad) by train Sachkhand express 2716.Various services provided in the train were of good standard(cleanliness, catering) etc.but would like to present passenger grievances regarding sale of products (biscuits, cold drinks, chips, cakes) etc. above mrp. when there is clearly notified on respective booths or shops that these products are to be sold at mrp.e.g.-cold drink 25.00/30.00 wen print rate is 20.00.All packaged products are being sold at price more than mrp. there is not even a single station from karnal (kun) to manmad(mmr) where products where being sold at mrp. Kindly look into this matter.Looking forward to your response.
Yours sincerly,
Sumit sachdeva

More price than mrp
Hi,
I would like to brought your notice regarding Bangalore shop keepers, they take more price for any cold drinks you buy by rupee 1 or 2 saying that they are keeping it cold.
Cold drinks are obviously should be kept in freezer and they should not be charging extra cost for that.
