I refer to my travel dt.20.Sept.2025 on Ethiopian (PNR – LZSOLU,
ETKT – 071-[protected]), Flight ET 904, Lagos to Addis.
I had booked Premium Aisle Seat 21C. To my surprise the AISLE 21-C was a regular Aisle seat !!!

Damage of check in lagguage - Ethiopia airline

My self Indraveer Singh, I was traveling from Addis Ababa to New Delhi date 27th Jan 2023. When i reached New Delhi, my suitcase wast totally damaged. I was eligible for 2 check in lagguage with 46 kg waight. Lagguage which was damaged having waight around 10 kg only. Still that suitcase was totally damaged and broken. I asked representative of Ethiopia airline she was listen to me and said ou need to mail us for reimbursement which was totally execue from her side. I am frequent traveler. Same thing happened before with Ethiopian airlines.and i realized staff from this airlines is not much supportive and they don't care about services as well which includes check in staff, flight attendants and representative in airport.

Full refund due to flight cancellation
We booked two tickets from travel agency Nitya Holidays on Feb 2020 for Mr. Amit Singh and on 11th Mar'20 for Ms. Karishma Rawat for which I paid total INR 1, 60, 000. Due to COVID breakdown our flights got cancelled. And as per our agent airline not offering any refund providing alternate flight whenever COVID balanced. So, we unable to travel in same tickets in 2020. Our travel agent confirmed as airline not offering refund so, they extended all tickets till Dec'2021. Then in 2021 we want to book the ticket for October'21 so we contacted our agent on Sep then again she said no flight operating in October however, flight operating for same sector in January' 2022. But we need tickets for October' 21 not for January' 22. We told her how can we take January'22 tickets are our tickets extended till Dec'2021 so, we told her to initiate full refund of our flights. She said ok. But then neither full refund received nor any other information. So, now again when I check my travel details I found my these tickets for which I had not received any details. I contacted my agent again few days ago in Sep month. She said refund not possible however she try for alternative flight as PNR is old not opening at her end so, she need to check with airline. And she said she check with airline and airline said PNR not opening at airline end also. So, they cannot help with full refund or with alternate booking. I am unable to call you so, i am sending you this mail for requesting full refund of my booking because now, i am travelling on November first week however as airline denied of any detail so, i can't wait untill airline revert than I book tickets because fare are getting high day by day. So, i cannot wait for your reply which your send in approximately 30days.

Be very careful flying with this airline, particularly if you are flying from a jurisdiction that has limited customer protection.
I was denied boarding by an incompetent and illiterate gate agent in Cotonou. The agent could not read English and claimed my visa was not valid. Upon further review of my visa documents, check-in staff at Cotonou airport admitted that my visa was valid, but only AFTER I had been denied boarding and had missed my flight. Ground staff at Cotonou airport was unwilling to help and rebook the ticket.
The call center of Ethiopian Airlines was thoroughly unhelpful as well. They keep you waiting for hours and claim that matters have to be resolved at the local airport and that there is nothing they can do.

Illiterate and incompetent ground staff in Cotonou

I was denied boarding by an incompetent and illiterate gate agent in Cotonou. The agent could not read English and claimed my visa was not valid. Staff at the check-in counter later admitted that my visa was valid after I had been denied boarding and after I had missed my flight. Ground staff was unwilling to help and issue a new ticket. They referred me to the call centre. The call centre was thoroughly unhelpful and kept me waiting for hours.
User's recommendation: Be careful using this airline in jurisdictions, such as Benin, that have limited customer protection.

Flight cancelled without proper information

I was booked the ticket through Ethiopian Airlines, Chennai to Mumbai and Mumbai to Addis Ababa and Addis Ababa to juba.
when i reached to Mumbai airport there is no sign of Ethiopian airlines listed on board.
Then I asked the information desk to find out the reason why my flight was not listed on the board. So, one of the respective persons came to us informed us that your flight was cancelled so you can reschedule the flight tomorrow so you can go now like that simply said.
Without proper information they simply say come tomorrow morning with the ticket, they don't even apologize to us and there is no proper gaudiness. They were so arrogant to the passengers. We were waiting in the airport from 8am to 11am.
very worst airline experience I have had in my life. depends on this ticket I have so many commitments they all cancelled due this flight. I was very frustrated and depressed. I need a refund of my ticket as well as they have to pay for what they have done.

Ticket not issued after payment

My booking reference is CQIIAC and made online payment of Rs 62, 989 on 16.04.2022 at 3.50 pm. My bank debited my account and sent confirmation email. Until now- 19.04.2022 the ticket is NOT issued and have been asked to make a fresh booking and payment.
This is a clear case of online cheating by Ethiopian Airlines.
I have been tossed up and down by their Mumbai office with no solution in sight.
I want compensation from Ethiopian Airlines for the anguish and pain suffered by me.

Delayed and horrible covid test
THE WORST AIRLINE EVER AND WORST FLIGHT.
We flew on the 27th of January 2021, from Madagascar to Paris.
We had to stop to Addis Ababa and there they forced us to take another COVID-19 test pretending that it was an obligation from the French government, which wasn't!!!
Then, the flight was delayed and no one informed us.
They made us go into the plane 4h earlier, so we all waited for 4h inside the plane with no food, no beverage, and stuck there, compressed with people.
How is that normal or hygienic with the COVID-19 situation, it is completely absurd.
They did not even inform us, they just stayed there starring at us like ### for more than 4h ### hours!!!
No refund and No apologies from the Airline.
If you don't want to experience this believe me NEVER take Ethiopian Airline, the Worst Airline in the World.

I, anil mahendra, resident of, 25-c, pocket-'a', sukhdev vihar, new delhi-110025, mob: [protected] / [protected], sheba miles no: [protected], am a frequent traveller of ethiopian air lines and in the last six years must have more than 20 times to del-add-bjr, in your esteemed airlines as i am a teacher bahirdar university. I did not have any problem of any kind till now but this my last travel as described above, as ticket details, my suitcase (American tourister) is broken so badly that it is beyond repairs.
I am attaching herewith my ticket, photo of damaged suitcase, property irregularity report (Pir) issued by your representative at delhi airport.
Request arrange ethiopian airlines make delivery of suitcase at my residence of equitant suitcase size 75cmx52cmx28 cm or 20.5x20.5x11 inches at the earliest. The price of the bag was what i remember rs 7, 600/-.
I am attaching herewith my ticket, photo of damaged suitcase, property irregularity report (Pir) issued by your representative at delhi airport, which i had a great difficulty in getting it at delhi airport as they took two hours to give it.
Please note that i have to travel again to del-add-bjr shortly, i require suitcase now, request arrange ethiopian airlines deliver of equitant suitcase at the earliest.

Ref. Denial of my right to travel by ethiopian airlines
My name is daniel john seni, a tanzanian who has been studying in korea for three years. On november 11, 2018, i traveled from korea (Incheon airport) to dar es salaam for a two-month vacation. I had a two-way ticket, and my return ticket showed i had to return on 7 february 2019 from dar es salaam to korea to attend my graduation ceremony which was going to be held on 12 of february 2019.
Without any delay, on february 7, 2019, as usual, i went to julius kambarage nyerere airport (Without worrying because i had been returning to all my holidays in tanzania). When i arrived at the travel document checkpoint, your company inspector told me that my travel documents are not yet complete. For his explanation, he was asking for a visa in my passport. But i told him that it was impossible to get a visa stamp from the korean embassy in tanzania because i have a residence permit in korea until 30 march 2019, then i showed him documents from korea. However, the inspector did not believe my documents and sent them to the station manager. There wasn’t any problem because having doubts with the documents is fine but the problem is failing to confirm whether those documents are valid or not. So i waited for an answer from the station manager.
Over time the inspector returned with information that the station manager has said you “cannot travel because your documents are incomplete”. Upon hearing the information i asked this officer to help me meet the station manager so that i can explain. I met the station manager who totally refused to receive my documents and told me to go to korea's embassy to confirm the documents.
I asked myself a lot of questions, how does the airline fail to have direct contact with the embassy to confirm the travel documents of their customers? How can they fail to prove whether the documents are valid or invalid? And why do they not know korea's procedures that if a person is living in korea, there is no need is a new stamp on the passport but only walk with a permit? Although i asked myself such questions, i obeyed her words of going to the korean embassy.
On february 8, 2019, i went to the korean embassy in dar es salaam where they affirmed that the documents i had was valid and they wrote a confirmation letter. However, when i returned these documents to your dar es salaam office located at t. D. F. L building, street, i met a woman who refused the day before, at the julius nyerere international airport, she refused again, and one of the main officer that office affirmed the refusal. I still kept telling them that i live in korea and the permits i have is valid. But they refused to receive.
I could not find out why they stopped me from boarding. I realized that the problem is not the korean embassy in dar es salaam or the korean immigration or the tanzanian government but the ethiopian airlines. I was wandering why they denied my right to travel while i paid for everything.
Since i was supposed to be in korea on 12th february 2019, and after the lack of support from the ethiopian airlines officers, i decided to change the airline and cut another ticket from the qatar airways company who received my documents without any doubt, confirming that the documents were valid. So i traveled on 10 february 2019 and attended my graduation.
At present, i have fresh evidence that the failure of the ethiopian airlines officers to know the procedures of other nations, has caused me a lot of trouble. My evidence is becoming more powerful considering that i have traveled with qatar airways and have safely arrived and entered korea without any problem.
Now then, this event has been a shame to me and frustrated, causing great discomfort for me and for those who had to take care of my life in korea. Due to this discomfort, i had to cancel many arrangements and engagements with people, something i cannot pay.
Now then due to this discomfort and shame, i ask your company to do the following to me-
A) please write an apology letter to me and publish it on media.
B) give reimbursement for incurred inconveniences.
So i would like you to recognize that i have used the most common procedure recommended by the tccaa advisory board, so i believe that my grievance and complaint will be deciphered as soon as possible.
I believe that as a customer, i have the right to get the veracious compensation for the consequences. I still believe that ethiopian airlines is the best airlines in africa.

There wasn’t any problem because having doubts with the documents is fine but the problem is failing to confirm whether those documents are valid or not. So i waited for an answer from the station manager.
Over time the inspector returned with information that the station manager has said you “cannot travel because your documents are incomplete”. Upon hearing the information i asked this officer to help me meet the station manager so that i can explain. I met the station manager who totally refused to receive my documents and told me to go to korea's embassy to confirm the documents.
I asked myself a lot of questions, how does the airline fail to have direct contact with the embassy to confirm the travel documents of their customers? How can they fail to prove whether the documents are valid or invalid? And why do they not know korea's procedures that if a person is living in korea, there is no need is a new stamp on the passport but only walk with a permit? Although i asked myself such questions, i obeyed her words of going to the korean embassy.
On february 8, 2019, i went to the korean embassy in dar es salaam where they affirmed that the documents i had was valid and they wrote a confirmation letter. However, when i returned these documents to your dar es salaam office located at t. D. F. L building, street, i met a woman who refused the day before, at the julius nyerere international airport, she refused again, and one of the main officer that office affirmed the refusal. I still kept telling them that i live in korea and the permits i have is valid. But they refused to receive.
I could not find out why they stopped me from boarding. I realized that the problem is not the korean embassy in dar es salaam or the korean immigration or the tanzanian government but the ethiopian airlines. I was wandering why they denied my right to travel while i paid for everything.
Since i was supposed to be in korea on 12th february 2019, and after the lack of support from the ethiopian airlines officers, i decided to change the airline and cut another ticket from the qatar airways company who received my documents without any doubt, confirming that the documents were valid. So i traveled on 10 february 2019 and attended my graduation.
At present, i have fresh evidence that the failure of the ethiopian airlines officers to know the procedures of other nations, has caused me a lot of trouble. My evidence is becoming more powerful considering that i have traveled with qatar airways and have safely arrived and entered korea without any problem.
Now then, this event has been a shame to me and frustrated, causing great discomfort for me and for those who had to take care of my life in korea. Due to this discomfort, i had to cancel many arrangements and engagements with people, something i cannot pay.
Now then due to this discomfort and shame, i ask your company to do the following to me-
A) please write an apology letter to me and publish it on media.
B) give reimbursement for incurred inconveniences.
So i would like you to recognize that i have used the most common procedure recommended by the tccaa advisory board, so i believe that my grievance and complaint will be deciphered as soon as possible.
I believe that as a customer, i have the right to get the veracious compensation for the consequences. I still believe that ethiopian airlines is the best airlines in africa.

Friend, You should sue this airline eventhough you are in Korea and ask the claim of the money you lose+ the disturbance they caused to you. On Addis Ababa airport also many ehtiopian airlines staff and airport staff is corrupted and stop indian passenger and take them into their office and make them miss the plane. this happen with one of my friend. they are corrupted. My friends were Going to Brazil from India and they have all documents. Now my friends are going to file case against the airline and ask for claim. You can also file case in india. Also try to sue them inside Ehtiopia and findout the CEO contact and inform him about this thing. This is intentionally they do. We also have indian embassy in Ehtiopia.

Hi. I used ethiopian airlines to fly from mainland china to jhb and return on the et604 flight from jhb with a 6hour layover in ethiopia, addis ababa bole airport while waiting for my return flight to china. Upon receiving my luggage i see that my suitcase has been ripped open (It was cable-tied) and left half zipped. I see that my luggage had been moved and i was left with a slashed perfume box that used to belong to my brand new (Paco rabanne) perfume. I had another sealed box of calvin klein perfume in the luggage as well, when i opened my luggage the bottle was thrown in between my things while the box and plastic was pushed aside, i guess your perpetrators were being caught in the act and didn't have enough time to steal more of my things. It had been carefully sealed, if you're going to steal something at least have the decency to throw the box away. All of my personal belongings were in the suitcase, my underwear included. I feel extremely violated, is this how you treat passengers? Especially women? I know that you are probably not going to compensate me for my loss (It's ridiculous), i will honestly not recommend flying via this airline ever again. If you're not allowed to bring anything over 10ml with you (Carry-on) where else would we then store things like expensive perfumes? Or is it another ploy for your employees to play mix-and-match with passengers personal items? Worst experience of my life.

I did not have any problem of any kind till now but this my last travel as described above, as ticket details, my suitcase (American Tourister) is broken so badly that it is beyond repairs.
The price of the bag was what I remember Rs 7, 600/-. As I travel extensive so I do not remember where i kept the receipt for the same. It has been used only for my last travel ie. 21 july 2018, DEL-ADD-BJR and 20 th Jan 2019, BJR-ADD-DEL. American Tourister size is 75cmx52cmx28cm
I am attaching herewith my, photo of damaged suitcase, Property irregularity Report(PIR) issued by your representative at Delhi airport, which I had a great difficulty in getting it at delhi airport as they took two hours to give it.
Please note that I have to travel again to DEL-ADD-BJR shortly, I require suitcase. I have requested them to please send me the new equivalent suitcase size 75cm x 52 cm x28 cm at the earliest.

1. There is a time limit for reimbursement for delayed baggage:
7 days or 21 days following the flight, if the baggage is not receved
2. The air carrier liablity for damaged/delayed bagage is limitted by the law.
3. All claims have to be addresed to the air carrier at the air carrier site,
whoich have 15 or 30 days, depening upon country, for the decsion on the compensation or to return the luggage.
Following 15 or 30 days, all disputes are to be resolved in the court of the country of the departure or of the arrival, not later tha in 1 or in 2 years, depening upon the country.
You are advised to save
1.boarding pass
2. bag tag
3. e-ticket
Note, it is usless to request the same subject matter more than 2 times from the same air carrier.
All disputes in 15 / 30 days days following the correct complaint receipt are subject of the examination by a local court.

I am sunil kumar jilledi, my wife is ethiopian i am working in eritrea. Today because of lack of knowledge of your ethiopian airlines delicates in india. I lost my tickets. Actually for ethiopians there is a onarrival facility is there for eritrea. I got this information from ethiopian air lines head office addis ababa and i got information visa onarrival at asmara airport also. Even i spoke with one of your customer care agent her name is :"henna" even she told for ethiopian there is onarrival facilities is there at asmara airport. But here in india they didn't allow us to take flight. Because of your foolish staff i lost my two tickets today.
There is a proverb "god is giving some good things to people, but in middle priest is stopping" your prime minister is thinking to do some good to your country because of your foolish staff what your prime minister is thing to do it is not completed properly.
Pleae take necessary actions on the staff who don't know the guide lines and you people are sending them to foreign to serve other nationals.

I and my wife were travelling from new delhi to lagos via adisa baba on 23-april-2013. We boarded the flight et-687 from delhi to adis ababa seat no 4j & 4l and reached adis ababa. When we reached adis ababa, ethiopian airlines staff informed us to get down as buss is ready. I struggled to quickly board the bus. On reaching lounge cloud nine, i found that my iphone 7+ black jet was left in flight only.
I reported the matter to the receptionist at lounge. She contacted the flight supervisor to search for the phone. Since my on-ward flight-et-901 was ready to leave i could not wait for long and left for lagos by f;light-et-901. I lost my iphone 7 and request for serious look into the matter and i really do effort to return the phone to me and i don't want any other passenger suffer like me.
I reported the matter to the receptionist at lounge. She contacted the flight supervisor to search for the phone. Since my on-ward flight-et-901 was ready to leave i could not wait for long and left for lagos by f;light-et-901. I lost my iphone 7 and request for serious look into the matter and i really do effort to return the phone to me and i don't want any other passenger suffer like me.

unethical behavior
I travelled on 19th july with my aged mother (75 years old) from delhi to addis ababa (Et 0687) and connecting onwards to nairobi (Et 0302). Then on 30th july return from nairobi to addis ababa (Et 0307) and connecting onwards to delhi (Et 0686).
I had requested for a wheel chair right up to the plane (Including lift) for my mother as she has difficulty in walking and difficulty in taking stairs. Inspite of repeated reminders no wheelchairs was provided except in two instances out of eight. Addis ababa was the worst as escalators are not working and in coming flight lands late and one is hurrying to take a connecting flight.
It was quite tramatic for my mother as she aggravated the pain in her knee and the foot. For the 10 days in kenya she was in constant pain. On the return flight again the same ordeal. Now in delhi she is seeing a orthopedic surgeon and getting physiotherapy done, all because a simple courtesy of a wheelchair was not extended by ethiopian airlines.
I certainly will not be flying ethiopian airlines again and i urge all flying with aged parents to avoid this airlines

Passenger Extreme harassment and denying any compensation

Hello Sir,
Good day.
Hope you are doing well. I have boarded a flight of Ethiopian Airlines on 27-September-2014 travelling from Johannesburg to Kolkata via Addis Ababa and Mumbai. Details of my flight are as follows:
Flight No: ET-808: Travelling from Johannesburg to Addis Ababa
Flight No: ET-610: Travelling from Addis Ababa to Mumbai
Flight No: AI-610: Travelling from Mumbai to Kolkata. (Air India flight since they have a tie up with Ethiopian)
After arrival in Mumbai, I notice that my luggage: ETO78932 is missing. Accordingly I submit a PIR form, duly filled up in the Mumbai Airport to the Ethiopian Airlines staff and I was assured that I will receive my luggage wit all my belongings inside safely within a few days, and it will be delivered to my residential address. In the mean time, I had a flight to board from Air-India, since Ethiopian Airlines have a tie up with Air India. But though I arrived on time for the departure yet, I was not allowed to board the plane, and I missed the flight. Later on I came to know from the Air India staff that AI-610 as already overbooked that day, hence the additional passengers could not be boarded. My flight was supposed to be at 8.35 am but I had to keep waiting for almost the entire day without being provided any accommodation in the Airport for the next flight which was at 8pm. It was a terrible day for me and the way I was treated, was least expected from an Airlines of international repute.
But my agony does not end here. After repeated follow up on my lost luggage with the Ethiopian Airlines staff, finally on the 5th Oct, 2014 I was finally informed that my lost suitcase will be delivered to my place. I was at home the entire day. Finally I receive a call from a person, who asked me to come and collect the luggage from Tollygunge Metro Station where this person was waiting. I was surprised because I was promised that the luggage will be delivered at my door step. Tollygunge Metro station is around 3-4 kilometres from my residential address. I went there at my own expenses. After being there I notice that the plastic with which my suitcase is supposed to be covered is already tampered. Anyways I signed a paper, and brought my luggage home. After coming back and after opening my suitcase I notice that 2 of my extremely precious valuables are missing:
1> My Guess Watch (Premium collection, Swiss made): Approximate cost in INR 25, 000
2> English Leather Premium Perfume : Approximate cost in INR 4000
I demanded compensation from the Airlines on the following grounds:
1> One week delay in sending me luggage at my place.
2> For the loss of items.
3> And for the harassment at the Airport, when they denied my boarding from Mumbai to Kolkata instead of showing up on time, since the flight was already over boarded (Which I came to know from one of the Air India staff at the Airport).
4> I had to wait for more than 12 hours at the Airport, without being provided any temporary accommodation or proper food, and treated very badly by the corresponding Airline staff as if they are doing me a favour of any kind.
But Ethiopian Airlines, completely denied me of any sort of compensation to be provided whatsoever for any of the above mentioned grounds. I followed up with them for the last one month and finally for fed up and writing this mail to you, hoping to get some justice.
You are my last hope Sir, please help me out on this.

Due to late of Ethiopian airlines I missed my other flight

I'm coming from to Delhi by Ethiopian Airlines in[protected]Sunday) and have to reach Delhi by[protected]Monday) at 8.15 AM approx, but due to fog and vision is not clear so it's fly around 2 hours in the air and wait for clear the fog, but climate is so bad that day so Ethiopian Airlines decide to land in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) and wait for fog to be clear. Now we waiting and approx at 1.00 PM we got to know that fog is clear in Delhi airport so we are leaving to Delhi. Sir from morning to afternoon they don't even ask for food, but we have to rush to reach Delhi because I have another domestic flight from Delhi to Dehradun whose timing is 10.25 AM Spice jet, but due to fog that flight also delayed upto 1 PM but after that fog is clear and my flight takeoff from airport and I reach approx 2:20 PM. In this case I had loss of Rs. 5065 . Now its all of because Ethiopian Airlines I missed my flight. So kindly register my case and help me out to recover my money . I really do not want any other passenger suffer like me.

I and my wife were travelling from KINSHASA to MUMBAI via ADISA BABA on 14-oct-2013.
And your flight from KINSHASA was late and reached ADISA BABA late. When we reached ADISABABA Ethiopian airlines staff did not inform us anything. I struggled to know what happened to flight of ADISA BABA to MUMBAI and I came to know flight left before arrival of flight of KINSHASA.
And then I went to your staff for more information and they were really rude.
I informed them that I have bought ticket of connecting flight from MUMBAI to AHEMDABAD at 09:30 AM on 15-oct-2013 and protocol from AHEMDABAD to my home town (approx affair of Rs 18000/- approx $300/-).
They said they don’t care.
They said they can change my ticket from ADISA BABA to DELHI to MUMBAI. No any other option we can give you.
I requested them that instead of changing my ticket from ADISA BABA to DELHI to MUMBAI please make it like this: from ADISA BABA to DELHI to AHEMDABAD.
Because I will be missing my connecting flight because of your airlines delay. And also I offered them if there is any official ticket change charge I can pay it along with invoice.
They denied with very rude language and unprofessional attitude.
Now I am very upset. I suffered like hell because I travelled by Ethiopian airlines.
I would like to express that I claim all money I lost and compensation for serious mental torture.
Because of Ethiopian airlines not only I lost my 300$ but also important business meeting and a family dinner in my home town which I have arranged and invited. It was very embarrassing movement for me.
Even after getting solution from you, I will never ever travel by Ethiopian airlines if I have an option. I will not bother paying extra for avoiding your organization.
If I will not have any satisfactory solution soon I will seek legal advice as this is very big stress on my head now and I can’t live my life due of this anger, I travel since 2003 regularly and this is first time I faced such big harassment.
And I really do not want any other passenger suffer like me.

But on contacting the local Ethiopian Airlines office got informed that this offer is not for departures from Mumbai but only for selected location which is not mentioned anywhere on the website. On formally complaining to the Ethiopian Airlines management, i got to know that the offer was valid till only 31 May, 2012 which is no where mentioned on the airlines website. My budget has completely gone for a toss because of this misleading on part of Ethiopian Airlines. Would request the Airlines to accept their mistake and make arrangement so that I can avail the promo offer and book my tickets.

Ethiopian Airlines — Tampering of Baggage -Case not respond Properly
Dear Concern,I am here to ask you that I want to register a complaint against Ethiopian Airlines.
Can u please help me out with the mail Id of some higher official to which I can make my complaint as I sent a complaint to customer service executives who didn't responded properly.

Non refund of ticket

I SANJAY SINGH got my air ticket cancelled from ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES ENTERPRISE with invoice no. IB212777 and ticket no[protected] for 10.Jan 2012 from New Delhi To Kigali. The air ticket was cancelled by Ethiopian Airlines office at 56, Alps Building1st floor, Janapth, Cannaught place, New Delhi. The air ticket was cancelled by the office in my personnel presence with assurance that amount will be refunded to me , the medical documents( from INDIAN ARMY DOCTOR) in support of cancellation was submitted to travel agent OUM TRAVELS, SADAR BAZAR, DELHI CANTT on demand from the office. Its more than16 days I am not getting my amount back , inspite of my repeated approach to the airlines office and headquarters(through mail) which is affecting me financially as well as mentally.

I am writing this email to inform about the inconvenience I had to face while travelling OR Tambo Johannesburg (South Africa) to from Mumbai (India) by flight ET808, ET610 on 2 Oct 2011.The airlines confirmation number was MOKKHJ. I reached OR Tambo airport at 11 am on 2 Oct 2011 to board on to flight. When I checked In, I was not informed that the flight has been delayed. Flight was delayed from Johannesburg to Adis Ababa. I had another flight from Adis Ababa to Mumbai by Ethopian Airlines only. I informed the airport authority as well as the air hostess that I have connecting flight from Adis Ababa to Mumbai and flight from Johannesburg is running late. So will that affect me in catching flight from Adis Ababa to Mumbai. I was informed that as it is same airlines, they will wait for you. I reached late in Adis Ababa. When I reached Adis Ababa, I was informed that my flight for Mumbai has already left. I was all alone in different country. Then I asked the airport authority for help. They told me to go to interline office. When I reached the office, I was informed that there is not flight to Mumbai now. Next flight to Mumbai would be the next day. The official offered me for a stay in hotel. I had some urgent work in India, so I denied it. I was completely traumatized. Then after a lot of request, airport authority gave me option to fly till New Delhi, India and from Delhi I was given connecting flight of Mumbai.
It was horrible day. Somehow I reached Delhi. When I landed in Delhi, my luggage was missing. One more challenge I had to face. I lodged complaint for my lost baggage. I took flight of Mumbai after lodging the complaint. I had no clothes with me. I was very upset. When I reached Mumbai (India), I moved to my place Pune, Maharashtra (India). I did not have any clothes. Nearly after 6days, I got my luggage. When I got my luggage, some of the stuff was missing in luggage. My chocolates, one alcohol bottle of Absenth, few of my clothes were missing.
This is highly unacceptable service given by Ethopian Airlines.
I was harassed both mentally and physically. I need to think now, before choosing Ethopian airlines. My impression for Ethopian Airline is very bad. Ethopian airlines lacks in services.
I don’t know how my time loss and harassment done to me can be compensated.

Ethiopian Airlines — Because of delay of flight by Ethiopian Airlines ,i lost $2900.
I am sunil ,my ph.no is [protected].I was travelling by Ethiopian Airlines from Nigeria to Bombay.,but the connecting flight at Ethiopia was delayed, then ET staff told us to stay one day in ethopia.I was sleepy, then while coming back next day to board the plane, the custom officer stopped me ,as i was carrying
3900 U.S.D in my upper shirt pocket-unhidden.
I was surprised custom officer took my $2900 and gave me a receipt, i was surprised as i was on transist visa to ethopia,so how he can do that to me.
then i approched the staff of ET overthere but they dint help me.
so cuz of Ethiopian Airlines i lost my $2900, so i want that money back either Ethiopian Airlines or they should help me out,
as it was my hardearned money of my salary.

I am Suresh Victor, I frequently travel in Ethiopian Air Line. On 26 of October 2012 traveled from Libreville to Mumbai via connecting flight from Addis Ababa. As u know that there is a stop at Malabo before reaching Addis Ababa. On that day when my flight landed in Addis Ababa my connecting flight was already left to Mumbai due to delay of flight from Libreville to Addis Ababa, I requested them to send me in another flight they denied for that, my total plan and all my urgent work gone in vain due to the flight delay, they provided me a night stay in Addis Ababa and when I claim for the Compensation they told me that they will give me when I will board the flight but their neglected to respond as promised.
I request you to kindly look into the matter seriously in order to reimburse my claims early as possible

Respected Sir,
I am Deepak Rastogi staying in Rohini Delhi for 20 yrs & my sister resides in Lagos Nigeria since 13 yrs. My mother Mrs. OMWATI RUSTAGI (Sr. Citizen) wished to visit her daughter there. I bought a to & fro airline ticket (Ticket No – ETKT 071 [protected]) for my mother (aged 66 yrs) for Delhi – Lagos – Delhi via Addis Ababa of Ethiopian Airlines on Jan 13, 09. Her departure date was Jan 25 & return arrival date was May 10, 09. As on Jan 13, her return flight schedule was as such –
ET 900 – Leaving Lagos May 09 1315
Reaching Addis Ababa May 09 2045
ET 604 -- Leaving Addis Ababa May 10 0040
Reaching Delhi May 10 0900.
In the meantime in February, timings of ET 604 altered slightly i.e. preponed by approx an hour. This slight alteration changed the departing date from Addis Ababa from May 10 to May 09. There was no official intimation of this changing from Ethiopian Airlines to us. Still when I got aware of this changing from other source, I called up Ethiopian office (Ph –[protected] in April last week to confirm. They confirmed & told everything has been corrected in computers & now nothing to worry.
While returning back on May 09 from Lagos, my sister arranged Boarding Pass for my mother for both flights comfortably; and everything was correctly in place till now. After brief halt at Addis Ababa, when on May 09 night when my mother was trying to board ET 604 (with all valid papers in place), she was denied forcibly without giving any reason. She was helpless & aghast by such unexpected ruthless attitude by Ethiopian Airlines staff. She immediately called me up in Delhi India (at her own expenses) & informed me this incident in brief. At midnight here, I was shocked in disbelief. I called my sister in Lagos & intimated them; but even they had no clue what to do. I called up subsequently at Delhi Ethiopian Airlines office, but no concrete response from them. Later anyhow, my brother Vikas in USA was able to find contact no of Addis Ababa office & was able to trace our mother in Hotel Axum there. We spoke to mother & found that she was mentally exhausted. She also told that while coming from Lagos she was not provided any blanket in airline; this made her unwell & feeling very disturbed.
On next morning, when I called up Ethiopian Airlines Delhi office to check out the reason for all this their staff had no clue & started making excuses like reaching late or change in date. In the meantime Ethiopian Delhi staff told me that they have received only one of the 2 bags my mother was carrying. And, told me that other smaller bag might be reaching (not sure) on May 11 morning alongwith. Then when I called up their manager Mr Solomon at [protected] & made him aware of this whole tragic incident & asked him genuine reason, he told me he will into this & let me know soon. Two hours later when I called him again, he admitted their mistake & promised compensation as per Ethiopian Airlines policy.
Then immediately on May 10 afternoon, I anyhow traced Ethiopian Airlines Addis Ababa office contact no ([protected]). I called up there at 3 pm and spoke to their manager Mr. Fartada. After realizing details of this incident, Mr. Fartada gave me the reason behind this incident that number of passengers exceeded no of seats & so they had to offload 4 passengers. He promised me complete care of my mother and compensatory coupon o[censored]S $ 300 (200 if encashed). In the meantime, we (myself from Delhi, sister from Lagos & brother from USA) had made several ISD phone calls to Mummy in hotel in Addis to pacify & support her to come out of this frightful experience.
By late evening at 9 pm IST, nothing had been committed as promised. My mother was given sub-standard food & sub-standard facility. Shockingly when I called up again at Addis Ababa office, Mr. Fartada was not in office (off duty) & neither had he conveyed any message to their staff regarding this. In his absence, supervisor Mr. Abdul Qadir bluntly refused me any compensation. At night when my mother reached Addis Ababa airport to board flight, Abdul Qadir told her that if she wants promised compensation, she will have to stay additional 24 hrs & meet Mr Fatada (Mgr) personally. This is horrifying & dreadful attitude.
Till May 11 early morning Ethiopian Airlines Delhi office was not aware of exact status of our missing baggage (Bag tag no – ET994776). After receiving my mother, we went to Ethiopian Airlines office for Compensation & Baggage details. Now we tried several times to contact Mr Solomon, but he avoided us. Till now, there was no confirmed whereabouts of our other baggage. They told hopefully missing baggage might have been dispatched mistakenly to Mumbai.
Ethiopian Airlines has harassed us extremely. Their staff at Addis Ababa had worked very callously. Atlast, we want compensation for both –
(a) Detaining mother (Sr citizen) forcibly at Addis Ababa (midway) for 24 hrs
for no genuine reason.
(b) Delayed delivery of Baggage by more than 60 hrs.
We want Airport Authority of India to intermediate, take immediate action & penalize Ethiopian Airlines for their irresponsible handling to avoid inconvenience to other Indian passengers in future. This has confirmed their utter ignorance towards aged female passengers traveling alone. All o[censored]s have been terribly mentally tortured since last 48 hrs. We want compensation of minimum encashable US $ 500.
