I posted a request to load my content on a real estate website theme from theme forest. I received several counter offers from freelancer to complete my job within 10 days. I accepted one from pratiksha sharma at wave. Pratiksha and i exchanged many good conversations and e-mails but all i got was promises to work on the site. This went on for 3 months. The site says it is risk free but this is not true. I lost $362.00 in deposits. I protested my credit card but to much time had passed. I think its a scam site as no work was completed and "risk free" is part of the lure to make you feel safe. This took place may through september 2018.

Today I was duped of Rs.2000 through freelancer.com. Someone posted a project and I applied for it. The client asked me to add him on whatsapp. He created a group with another US number. The numbers are +[protected] and +[protected]. He created a project worth $100 and released the payment to me. He asked to me to send a transfer of Rs.2000 to a local friend through paytm. The local friend's number was [protected] of someone called Nikhil.

After 2 hours, the client reversed the payment of $100 on freelancer.com. Freelancer.com did so without even sending me any email notification. After a while when a checked my account, I came to know that I have been duped.

It seems such fraudulent clients are being supported by freelancer.com. They have enabled a faulty system in which a client can claim refund and reverse payments without any hassles!!! What a way to fraud innocent freelancers!!

Freelancer.com you are promoting scams and frauds through your website.

This company closed my account for no reasoning or explanation. After begging for them to tell me why... I gave in and asked for my money that i’ve deposited into my account. They will not answer me back. They are withholding money that is mine and not returning it to me. That is stealing and fraudulent. I reported this company to the bbb. I also contacted a few news stations to get the word out of how this company abuses their freelancers that make that website a ton of money.

I hosted a contest (Id=1193921) where i wanted a 3d model but nobody is submitting a entry to my contest. Not a single legit entry... The reward is 10k +1k freelancer.com fee + currency conversion fees. Now when i dont have a single entry. Why should pay 10k to nonsense entries? Now when i ask for refund they say "we will upgrade your contest" every single time they say the same thing. They are not giving my money back. 10k is not a small amount. I am disgusted by freelancer very much. Please dont use freelancer.

Hi my name is mandeep. I work as a freelancer on freelancer.com. I worked for a client for which he paid me $198. The money added to my freelancer wallet then i withdrew the money via express withdrawal. It showed in status that your money is processed between 27 nov to 28 of nov 2017. I withdrew it on 11 nov 2017. It takes 15 day if you withdrawal first time from freelancer.com.. Then the next day the status changed to 'not enough fund' the fund of $198 from my wallet turned to $o. I talked to freelancer via live chat they told me that the money is revered to clients account due to violations against freelancer terms and conditions becuase we were exchanging the bitcoins which is violations against freelancer terms and conditions. For doing that they sent a warning email against my account and they said we have reversed the money to clients account, penaltised him and deleted his account.
But the truth is that the client already deleted his account when i exchanged money with him. Let freelancer reversed the money but why the money was in my wallet for whole day and even i withdrew it by express way it shows me active status. After one day they changed my status deduced all the money $198 from my wallet and said to me that they have reversed the money. Can anyone help me? I do not know what should i do now. Please leave your comments i really want to know your useful opinion on it

I have registered in freelancer.com. On 1st october 2017 i have bidded for the project posted by 'nexoarts' an employer. Thisis his email id '[protected]@gmail.com'. It was mentioned that ill be charged 60$ i. E 4k inr. Before accepting the project. I asked him about the details. He told that he will send an email. But then the amount got deducted from my account. I waited and pinged him regularly about the project. I created a milestone also. But he dint respond and blocked me from messaging him. Kindly help me to get the refund. Its my hard earned money.

Please help. I removed my registered payment from this site now.

Kindly take an action on these bogus employers.

They asked to link card details, but said it's a free account. And the card will not be used without consent.

I have not started work yet.

But, they misused my linked card details todsy to charge me money 1330 rs without notification or informing me.

This is the biggest scam site.
1. I completed my work a month ago
2. I ask for payment they say client need to pay and they are not happy with your work
3. I inform them i have done more than 3/4 of the client work and after which they are complaining about quality?
4. Freelancer asks to raise a dispute
5. The client apparently releases the payment
6. Freelancer as per rules blocks the payment for safety reasons as per law
7. After a month i receive a mail withdrawal cancelled. Reason being: unfortunately we were unable to process your withdrawal request:
Decline reason: funds originated from an account that is currently under review.
8. After i get back to freelancer they tell me that employer has not completed the kyc
9. Freelancer tells me they cannot force the employer to complete the kyc.

What kind of fraudulent practices this site does? Give a free hand for fraudulent practices. They are cunning enough to take their commission but have a problem paying the person who has worked on the project under the pretext of kyc verification.

Worst is you cannot connect to anyone at a senior level the only point of contact are their arrogant customer service executive.

Absolutely fraud practices. An organization with true ethical standards will always have the next level of escalation point. This organization does not have that

I signed up to freelancer.com to work as freelancer. They gave me membership plan on free trial for one month and asked me add payment method. I added my credit card details and same moment 3 amounts of Rs.16.02, Rs 123.08 and Rs.91.67 got deducted from my account. When i contacted their customer support, they told me that it is for credit card authentication and i'll get refund in 2-3 working days. But till now i have not received any refund.

Furthermore, I was charged Rs.1654.97 as project fee for a fake project. An employer posted a project on the website and awarded me the project. When i accepted the offer, Rs. 1654.97 got deducted from my credit card as project fee. I tried to contact employer for further details on project but she didn't respond. I raised a ticket about same for providing me refund but i have got no response from them.

This website is looting money from its users for everything.
Please tell me how can i take this matter on legal grounds.

I have registered as a free member for Freelancer in May 27th 2017. They have asked to link debit account. on 1st July Freelancer deducted Rs. 2059/- from my ICICI Debit card without any notification. I have never requested for membership upgrade. Freelancer deducted $39 from my account without performing any transaction with them, i registerd with the website some months ago and my ladt activities on the website is close to a month now, today I received a message from my bank showing that a transaction worth of $39 was performed kindly help me to look into this. My name is Adhitya Yadla and I have registered for Freelancer.com long back as I was looking out for home based jobs. On March 07 2017 I got a call from Mr. Ramesh ( +91-[protected]) stating he is from Bangalore and working as an executive in freelancer and offered me a permanent payment for a project of 12, 000 per task and duration is 20 days . I got doubt and contacted freelancer assistance they said he is their executive. To accept this offer they asked me to make a payment of 1000 rupees ( as commission fee which is refundable​ at the time of delivery of the project along with my payment) to this Paytm phone no. (+91-[protected]). Initially I was very hesitant and the conversation between me and that person Ramesh and even two more executives one named shwetha (+91-[protected]) went for one and half day. They were insisting me when will I pay that amount. They sent me a user agreement form which is very non transparent to understand. I filled in the online application form and user agreement form and my I'd proofs and d screenshot of my payment all attached to their mail and sent it and later recurved a mail where they given me an I'd and asked me to download the project from a http://support-freelancer.weebly.com/project.html
When I downloaded and saw the project details I was shocked they have sent 500 pages as they said but each page consists of 200 questions like that 417 pages short answers type in which each page consists of 200 question and answers.and the remaining 83 pages objective. All these data I need to enter it into their portal site above link .Separate separate .(template attachment was included below in attachments) the total questions came down to 29, 500 something like that and they asked me to submit in 20 days. When I tried calling to their need assistance no. (+91-[protected]) no one picked up calls. When I tried those executive persons who contacted me even they didn't pick up the call. I sent a chat mesage to Mr.ramesh asking what is this do I look like a robot for you he said coolly that he is unaware of the project details and asked me to contact their customer service. When I told him i will file a complaint on you and freelancer he said do it. But not to mention his name as he is unaware of all this and even he is working as a freelancer and not an employee of freelancer. I was shocked and asked who will pay my money back no response and when I chatted with freelancer.com even they didn't responded. Later they dropped a mail stating that whatever they have done is correct from their end and I signed their agreement and carelessly responding. Freelancer is a total spam they are looting our money in the name of our weakness. Never register for their site. They don't have a proper customer support itself . Till we pay so.many members will call us and once we make the payment no one will respond to us.all the persons who are stating as employees also are fake they are also freelancers just trapping people for referral programs so that they will get some commission. I am enclosing all the files payment details, chat history with freelancer team, and the no. Of files in project, and no. Of questions in each page of the project, their responded mail, user agreement form, and the mail about project details . Some of the files were unable to attach as the files are too large. I made a free account on Freelancer.com. As part of their registration procedure, I had to fill my credit card details. On 29th Nov, 2016 they charged my credit card with an amount of INR 2059.98 without any intimation or prior consent. When I enquired about this, they said they cannot reverse this.

Kindly help me resolve this.

1st complaint : project id: 11370219 is not awarded to me, i have not accepted the project freelancer.com has deducted money from my account. Now they email me to pay immediately otherwise they will suspend my account. This is cheating with us

2nd complaint : project id : 11139774 this person awarded the work and i accepted but the employer never provided the work no chat no message nothing but freelancer.com has deducted more than $20 from my account.

3rd complaint : project id: 10722716 the employer has awarded $555 job to me and freelancer.com deducted rs. 3995.96/-. Now the employer paid only $50 in 3 months and now stopped the project. Still they not returning money they should take rs. 300/- but they took 3995.96.

I got cheated many times with freelancer.com website

I have had it with freelancer.Com. I am over the scams, the taking of my money, the poor service. I am over it all.

So i set up a petition to nasa to get them to cut ties with freelancer.Com. Hopefully if enough people sign it, they will and that will shake up freelancer.Com (I doubt it though!!! They seem to be beyond repair!!)

I made project in which user upload tokens and generate likes using fb api. The employee said that he/she will be using his token for generating likes using fb api. Project was completed. Payment was done. Feedback received also.
Now freelancer.com reversed the payment and when i asked for reason they were saying that it was bot creation and buying/selling of likes
But when i asked support they provided me with this link

In this link there is nothing like it that bot creation is invalid. They are saying likes selling and buying is invalid but does it count as my project invalid. Please help me with this they are doing this from long time reversal of payment.
So if they can't handle the project before awarding why they are operating this platform. If they can't even recognise the project is suitable with there terms or not they are just reversing payment after the project is completed.

And we will take this matter to every platform for closing our 8 years old account when we refunded the payments after all wrong doings was from client side, but we still followed what was said by freelancer ... and the chat above with support shows all proofs which will be seen and posted in platforms with proofs.

I accepted a project on freelancer and was charged for that acceptance. The employer never replied to my query about the way the work is to be completed. I realized it was a fake job posting. I am left with negative balance in my account for just accepting that fake proposal. Even the website never responded to me when I explained this issue to them which lead me to conclude that they are involved in all this unscrupulous activity.

I created a contest, and without giving me options - they made it a guaranteed contest. I raised a complaint on their website but was told that since it was guaranteed, money will be paid out. Even though my work has not been done money will be paid to a junk freelancer ( mostly fake and could be from their own team - who knows ) The postings on freelancers for Virtual assistants are usually for adult work, which may be against our laws and needs to be checked too.

And mostly they are transfer a huge black money to India or other countries is reduce the growthing of India. So don't help they, Please ban the Freelancer.com. Hi my India govt, Now I am showing you a cheating and more black money transfer company. Yes freelancer.com is a great fraud company in the world they are transfer Milions of cash in a day without any Income tax methords. They will charged illigel commission amount of 10 % of the work. And they have an option for money converting but when convert any amount they will charged 10 % of forein currency. Please take immidiate action to them and ban the freelancer.com in India.

www.freelancer.com is a website which provides mediator/escrow services for those parties who (i) are looking for work (freelancers) and (ii) looking to get their work done (employers). I joined as a freelancer on November, 2011. Website was providing good transaction services till my project values were low (50-100 dollars). Last month, when a sum of $1000 were either in my escrow or deposited in account, and another several thousands in transit from my clients, the website froze my account. When asked, I got only one reply 'we are in the process of verifying your profile'. This is illogical because my profile was already verified long back. Neither their so-called verification process completed, nor I received any money since then. As a result, I have lost around Rs. 50,000 directly and another several lacs in the form of receivables from the clients. After this incidence, I searched for similar incidences on blogs etc., and was shocked to know that most of the other freelancer victims also had high value accounts.

The accounts of earned funds are still available in the finances section of my profile, but now I cannot withdraw them. Funds from some of my clients (who are unaware of this fraud) are still coming in my 'dead' account. Not too surprisingly, my profile is only blocked for cash withdrawal, and not for cash in-flows.

I'm a freelancer based in Delhi and had a account on www.freelancer.com. After about 4 months, I decided to upgrade my membership to
Type : BASIC which the site clearly displays as Rs 245 per month. But to my very surprise, I was charged US$ 251.07 instead of Rs 251.07.
FAKE and CHEATING. And they have also BLOCKED my Account without any notice.
This is totally unacceptable. I have lodged a COMPLAINT on Paypal and waiting for the resolution.
