I'm from Mumbai City but they show BOM as city code which creates problems. All the other countries have their own codes then why are we still living in the past. MUM code for Mumbai city would be better. Please understand the seriousness of this problem.

      Hi,
Was travelling to india via london heathrow on 6th nov 17 flight a i 130 at 13;30 my e - ticket num[protected] to goa final destination. With a baggage allowance of 46 kg. 23 each had purcased a 32 inches tv, put it in a diff box, positioned the t v in a slanting position added clothes on either side of the tv box made sure the box did not exceed 62 inches as given by the airlines, confirmed with the airline staff when they called me to do online check out they said ok with the details i gave them, when i went to check my baggage in on my flight day they reused to take the box with the tv in saying the box was too large at which i told them had made sure the height was 28 inches and overall 62 inches. They kept repeating it is just too large and more than 32 inch in height, at that point i requested them to measure my baggage height but they refused saying with the look we can tell its too big, for which i think is not fair a measuring tape would have given them the proper specs.
Was forced to pay 140 pounds wich i think is ridiculous from the airline part,
Please help me to get my refund.

I am a citizen of india and bought many plane tickets for traveling, and never indian airlines and their agents ask me about the citizen's concession since 1987 also.

It is believed that a citizen with f. No. 6 (32) in code is a concession facility by his/her name only on computer due to furor status by birth only, hence extra code is not needed to enter to get concession module by its rule of the furor of india.

So a constitution of india only in trouble and the nation is paying its toll.

Hence, a sue also by samarjit barman (Dg wr[protected]).

        Thanks.

Change of name in Air India ticket

I booked a ticket in Air India and later i noticed that the name on the ticket is not matching with the ID PROOF name. Will there be any objection with this. If yes, please suggest me how to rectify it.

One of our bags was arrived (one day late) on December 9. 2010 and was delivered to us. Due to late arrival of our accompanied bag caused the inconvenience to us and distributed our next day program. The bags had clothing, medicines, books etc. I need to get compensated for the delay caused by your carrier. The PIR for checked baggage was written at the airport, which has all these details. This baggage ticket number was[protected]. I will appreciate for your favorable consideration for compensation.

I had tried a booking on the air india website on 21oct. They deducted an amount of Rs 12440 without providing me a pnr. On calling them I was assured that the amount would be refunded to my credit card in 4 days. But that has still not happened. On calling up, they either do not respond or hang up after picking up the call ([protected] ,75,76) .
I have emailed them the details thrice but have still not recieved their response.

This morning, my mother in law Mrs Santosh Gupta and daughter Neeha Gupta reached the airport at 5 am to board a 6 15 flight to Hyderabad. Despite being a senior citizen; she was provided no help at all w r t the check in process. More improtantly, sfter waiting for 45 minutes in the line, they said that they had closed boarding for the flight.

my name is ankit and i had done booking in IC 868 from goa to delhi on 31st october.
the extremely ridiculous behaviour of indian airlines staff at goa airport has made me to write this complain.i reached airport at 0745hrs with flight departure for that day subjected to 0915( delay of flight was informed a day prior from airindia customer care)

reaching at airport the ground staff said, check in for IC 868 will start once they are through with check in for IC 866(which was scheduled to depart from Goa to Mumbai at 0845). as the time for flight was approaching near, i contacted the check in counter and they said they ve no seats on IC 866. i told them i had a confirm reservation in that flight, they said sorry some one else is lucky and u manage some other flight. the ground staff lady there named Mrs. USHA seems to be in her own swing. her pathetic behaviour and illogical excuses made me loose my connecting flights. kindly look in to the matter and sort out the issues. my no is [protected].

Indian Airlines — Valid TICKET issued, but not allowed to board the flight

14th october 2007, flight no IC269 of Indian airlines booking with PNR : FLCGBR.
I was not allowed to board the flight, and was asked to get full refund from my travel agency. I had to pay extra money for another flight, which was late night, and the job for which i was going, got delayed, and i had to suffer monetary loss.
The travel agents also did not retun the full amount, they deducted their service charges.

Indian Airlines — poor flying conditions

sir, i was a passenger in IC-547 from coimbatore to hyderabad on 25 apr 10. The aircraft was 30 min late as usual without giving any reasons. Thereafter the passengers had to spend 30-40 min inside the aircraft with any AC and in hot and sweaty conditions. Reason given is that AC can be switched on only after engines are started. Meanwhile the numerous small children including my own were screaming due to heat and suffocation. In food, only VEG was available. No juice / soft drink was available for kids or adults. No child meals were available. I have faced similar problems with IA before also but not with other airlines. I don't understand why. This wierd theory of AC swithcing on after the start of engines also is o[censored]nheard thing. . On 11th April 2010, I had booked a ticket for myself on IC541 from Chennai to Bhubaneswar. The flight was scheduled to depart at 11am. I had promptly arrived at 9:00 AM at the airport and stood in the long queue for Indian Airlines check in. After 90 minutes of waiting and hectic running around to inform the IA Ground crew that my flight was scheduled to leave in another 30 mins. I was led to a booking counter, they told me that the flight was full and they said to meet their Terminal Manager. I was firstly surprised and shocked because I had my itinerary lined out for the next three days. After a lot of argument, finally the Terminal Manager, i dint even bother to ask him his name told me very rudely, that there is no point arguing and I can just go ahead and ask for a full refund. I told him that I had to meet the Vice Chancellor of my University the next day and it cannot be done. Then he said that its because I arrived late. I was shocked and he said that we can go ahead in this argument and no consensus can be reached, He was rude to the extent that I can go to the court and do anything I want. Let me also state that this alone is not my plight. There were six passengers along with me who were also shouting at the top of their voices. Then they did something very very unimaginable and here it shows how dirty our systems have become.

He booked two foreign tourists on the flight by getting them a ticket for Wednesday but putting them on a Jet airways flight for 11th April, since they were traveling executive class and the foreign tourists threatened to sue Indian Airlines . I was so confused as to how they can do such bookings. Making a future booking and traveling on a date before. I was really at a loss of words. The only thing that I did was ask them for putting me on a flight for the next day and got myself the boarding pass as well. I came back silently seeing the amount of corruption and double sided behaviour from our government authorities.

If you have access to their systems, you can very well verify my information .

                                    CONSUMER COMPLAINTS,

I am really fed up with the services of Indian Airlines (Air India also). Right from the online booking to the attitude of the employees, even the phone in officer (call center).
There is no doubt why they run into looses. They will and sure they will close out eating all the money. With more than 125 flights they can't make profit? Small airlines company, with just 5 to 10 aircrafts are making huge and comprehensive profits!!!
My first experience (of course there is no need to specify it as bad) was while I was traveling from Mumbai to Kochi. I was denied to board, because I did not have the ticket in their old paper format (tickets in issued in the form of booklets). I had booked the ticket online and the ticket was confirmed and I had a paper e-ticket with me. I booked the ticket with my Credit Card. There was no lapse/negligence from my side. But they argued that I am supposed to carry the old style paper tickets and not a valid, confirmed PNR. Now what to say!!!
The second is when I was trying to book tickets for a flight from Kochi to Delhi. I tried for 5 hours spanning in three days on their websites (first of all they have minimum 6~7 websites) to book a ticket. Never did that proceed to the payment page. Oops, and you hope them to make profit!!! Then I called their customer care. The customer care employee was talking as if we were mere servants of the Majestic Maharajah.
Now I have decided, never ever I will travel on a Air-India, Indian-Airlines.

I had boarded the Indian Airlines flight on 31 Dec.,2009 at Kochi airport to Chennai via Bangalore and then onward from Chennai to Vizag.
                                      The flights were :

From Kochi IC509 and from Chennai IC541.

My luggage was weighed and tagged at Kochi airport, but the receipt of the same was either not entered nor given to me along with the boarding pass.

They asked me to go to the security checkin and I climbed the flight which was late by an hour. I am a first time traveller and I assumed that the things were in order.

I showed my ticket at Chennai airport ground crew. I also told them about my baggage. They were in a hurry to take off and although they saw my ticket and noted the discrepancy, they did not bother to give any specific answers to the whereabouts of my luggage. When I asked them if I should collect it at Chennai airport, they said not necessary, it will reach your destination airport at Vizag. I took their word and when I reached my destination, I had to wait for more than an hour to explain my unfortunate and fumbled up situation to the manager in charge of Air India Flights at Vizag airport. He said that as he was handling all the work by himself, I will have to either wait or give the necessary details, so that he can get back to me. After the hour long wait, I gave him the details and came back home. I kept in touch with the Kochi airport staff of the Air India flights. They kept saying to me that they will come back to me later with the details. Later on I contacted the Vizag personnel. He just said sorry, no information. I will contact them tomorrow if possible. The same day, after much persuasion, Kochi airport manager confirmed that the baggage was tagged only upto Chennai and he will see to it that the baggage will be sent by the next day flight.

Next day, afternoon after calling from the staff at Vizag airport regarding the whereabouts of my baggage, I went to collect it. The baggage was given to me but they removed the tags. When I asked them to leave the tags, as I have to officially claim a compensation, they refused the same. I told them if they were willing to drop my baggage at my home I wouldn't be asking for any compensation. They refused any compensation, saying that as it was not tagged while boarding the Chennai flight, I cannot claim any compensation. I told them the Kochi Chennai flight was delayed and that the flight from Chennai to Vizag was ready to take off. I told the ground crew there, but they just herded us through the security check and on to the flight.

At Kochi airport itself the ground staff were very unprofessional in discharging their duties by not attaching the tagged receipt upto Vizag on my boarding pass. Later on at Chennai, the ground staff were very unprofessional in handling my doubts. On arrival at Vizag airport, there was only one person on duty who was handling multiple jobs who could answer my queries and he had no time. He made me wait for an hour or so. The phone calls that I made to the different personnels were many. I had no time to take rest as nobody was coming out with any specific answers and to top it all, I had to go 15 kms to the airport on the second day without attending to my official duties.

I request you to kindly look into my grievance.

                                        Dear Sir / Madam,

                                        1. I travelled from Mumbai to Jamnagar onboard IC 147 on 10 Dec 09 with a single piece of luggage weighing 27 kgs.My ticket no is 058-[protected].On arriving at Jamnagar , the luggage was found damaged. The damages included

                                        * totally scratched and dented body of the VIP suitcase ( a brand new piece) - costing Rs 5000/-
                                        * Battery Charger (Uniross) - costing Rs 1750/-
                                        * HPNX 7300 battery- costing Rs 3500/-

                                        2. I was shocked to see the absolute carelessness with which the baggage had been treated and reported the matter to the Airport Manager Ms Kalpana. However the frivolous attitude of your staff compelled me to photograph the damaged goods and had them endorsed in the Damaged Baggage Report. A 'Funny' compensation of Rs 1000/- was offered by your staff at the Jamnagar airport. The total cost of damage is about ten thousand rupees and i fail to understand the kind of bargain your staff is trying to buy.

                                        3. More than the monetary losses, i am more perturbed about the lack of seriousness from the indian airlines staff .I Demand that the case be looked into seriously by a competent officer and at priority and the findings be apprised to me .I am currently based at 204C Dennid Road , Mhow-453441

                                          Dear Sir ,
Myself , Harvail Singh & my wife took off from Delhi to chennai by Flt. No. IC 540 on 18th Oct 09 , seat nos. 17E & 17F , which took off at 20.00 Hrs & landed at chennai at 22.40Hrs. we had to take next connecting flight IC 549 on 19th Oct, 09 at 5.50 Hrs to Portblair i.e a gap of nearly 7 Hrs. But to our surprise there was no arragement for such passegers to pass such a long time comfortably . All passengers were left to their fate . there was a long with chairs in a bad shape . we had a very hard time that night . Indian Airlines should take care of their passengers in such situations . Same was the condition while returning from Portblair By IC 550 on 22 Oct. 09 which landed at 10.50 Hrs & took connecting flight IC 539 which took off at 18.30 after a gape of more than 7 Hrs . An Ammount of Rs 1000/- was spent as we out in the city by taxi just to kill time . It does not give good immpession of the Airlines in comparison to other Air lines . So take a note of it & take corrective steps.

                                          Complaint marked as Resolved
                                          Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m the Citizen of Singapore, and this is my 2nd time traveling to India.

I always wanted to visit India, because, it’s a lovely country, and all the while I was thinking that the people down there are good.
From my previous visit, and my recent visit, I found something that I would like to highlight to the head officers and bring to their attention.

The customer service officers in the counter are not treating the passengers decently or courteously, especially, Singapore or Malaysia passengers.
They have been so rude and arrogant to the passengers as far as I know.

In our country or other fellow countries, the customer service officers should wear a smile, to entertain the passengers, but in India, they have been so rude.
The reason I’m writing this cos, I was very frustrated with the incident happened on 08 Oct while we were attended by your customer service officer.
My father a Malaysian citizen, enter one of your counter, and the lady officer who has a short hair, wore, blue and white strip blouse, attend to my dad.
She ask my father this question, “You are a Malaysian, and why must you enter Singapore” and my father say, I need to enter Singapore cos, I’m married to my wife down there” and she ask why must he goes to Mannargudi, and what was he doing down there and so on? All this looks as a stupid question to me, as we are returning back to our own country, if we are entering india, then she got the right to ask all this.
But still my father answer to her very patiently, but that lady was not giving up and keep on asking my father what did he do in India, as thought she was expecting something from my father to shut her mouth.

Well, is it necessary for my dad to explain all this things to her, as we are going back to our own country? Why is it necessary to tell her all this things or is she expecting bribe from us?
The way she behave makes us think like that.

It took so long that my husband went there and ask her name, and we were quite surprised to find that she was not wearing a name tag also.
And she refuses to give her name, and she talk very arrogantly asking my husband to complain to the officer if he want.

My husband and my dad got so angry that they went inside the office to go and look for the head officer, also the officer himself not wearing a name tag, and he ask my husband what happen very arrogantly too.
My husband told him what had happen, and to our surprise, the officer never bother about our words, and instead, he took my husband’s and my father’s passport away.
We were all very shock to see this happen in Chennai Airport.

My husband and my dad waited patiently for the next step to be taken, and you know what the officer talk to another officer, he say he wanted to put my husband into the prison for a year and give him “SAATAI ADI” to him so that my husband will change.

This is really very humilated to my husband as he’s the Malaysia’s DAP MP’s son and he’s holding a decent job in Singapore.
We all were very disappointed and if it is were singapore, we would have sue the Officers, but unfortunately, the officers are in India, and I also think now it’s not too late to sue the officer but as a respect, we wanted to inform the head officers first, before we move on to the next step.

We from foreign countries are coming to India for shopping and we are also giving business to India, so we do expect a little gratefullness plus courtesy from your officers, and we were so shock to see this all happen in chennai airport first of all.

The customer service officer who serves did not mention her name to us, or she wore a name tag, but on my father’s passport she have indicated a custom chop as “D18”
This all happened on 08 Oct 2010, at about 9pm India time.

We are kindly requesting the head officers to look into this matter very urgently and take immediate actions on the officers who has involved in this, at the same time, we also need apologieses or explanations from the officers for their rude behaviours.

                                          Thank you.

The service was really very very bad. Flight took off very late, all the passengers were made to sit in the plane for more than 1hour & the AC was also not put on, its was extremely hot inside the plane. Inspite of our telling the airhostesses to switch on the AC they were not interested to listen to us. No proper service was provided.
Secondly the food qualioty was pathetic.

                                            Hi,

I am also facing the same problem.
Please revise the air india LTC 80 fares as per the actual amount charged by air india.

                                            Regards,
                                            Amit

PS: Mr Kannan, in case of any clarification on this aspect, please do inform me too.
                                            Hi,
I am also facing same problem. Currently Delhi-Goa fare under LTC is around Rs.6625/- but as per latest fare list published by indian airlines in jan 2009 this fare was around Rs.5425/-.
Air India has not published revised applicable fare list for all sector after Jan 009,

Kindly provide revised fare list of LTC-80 for all sector.
u can ask for a certificate from the counter stating that the fare availed is ltc-80 fare. this would suffice for reimbursing the actual amount paid by you.
I am also facing with the same problem. There should be a revised list for ltc 80 air fares. In case of any clarification please inform me too.
I too face same problem. the LTC fare to coinbatore on 20th is around 17, 755/ per person. so kindly intimate the what the actula reimburshement fare in air india
I had a similar situation when the authorities processing my claim were going by the published fares you mantioned. However LTC80 fare is dynamic and is actually the lowest refundable fare on that sector on that particular day.I was able to convince my accounts department by showing that the "LTC 80" endorsement on the ticket. Alternate thing to do is get a letter from the Station manager Indian Airlines from where you did the booking regarding the fare status and get your full amount reimbursed.
                                            Hi,
I am also facing the same problem. Fare charged under LTC 80 fare basis by Air India from Kolkata to Bagdogra is Rs.14500 (round trip) per person incldg taxes. But as per the LTC 80 fare list to and fro is only Rs.2775x2 i.e., Rs 5550. Please suggest me how i have to get rid of recovery.
ltc can avail all officers/officials or any grade pay fixed by the government? please inform me
As per my thought we have to follow Govt order in this case, so if any person avail by LTC 80 which is shown in his Air tickets and bill then the full amount will be reimburesed any way, because the fare list is not supplied by the govt time to time.
i m also facing same problem. i availed LTC to Dibrugarh, the fare prescribed by Govt are lesser. but Air Airindia charged high under LTC80. the accounts objects as they have no proper information about price hike. pls do need full and publish LTC 80 latest fares as soon as possible
As is evident, no. of central govt officials are facing problem in getting the refund when they are booking ltc-80 fares. Will someone from central govt please issue clarification?
If somebody is booking ltc-80 fare he/she should get the same amount refund from the govt. Otherwise what is the point in having ltc-80 when full refund of the is guaranteed?
I am a Cenrtal Govt. Employee and I have travelled on LTC from Patna to Mumbai by Air India on LTC-80 Scheme. The detail of my travel is as follow: -

                                            Delhi to Mumbai by IC-863
                                            Total fare paid = Rs. 12, 033/-
The ticket is issued by DBA, Air India on 6/11/2009.

Now, our Account Section is willing to re-imburse only Rs. 7, 433/-, which is the fare of Patna - Mumbai section as per the List of LTC-80 Fares published on the Air India Web-site with effect from 6th January, 2009 until further notice.

In this regard, I want to know following: -

                                            1. Whether the list of LTC-80 Fares published on Air-India Website is valid and genuine?
                                            2. Whether my booked Ticket is valid or not under LTC-80 scheme?
                                            3. Why there is difference of fares between the list and actuals?
                                            4. If List is valid, why Air India issued this ticket taking more payment?
                                            5. If Ticket is valid, why the wrong List is published on the website?
I have booked ticketes for my wife and son on 21.1.10 for on journey 27.1.10 PNR NO RPDH7A/IC from Silchar toDelhi .It was conffirmmed by your branch manager that LTC(80) rate is Rs 11330.00 .
Today I have checked the circullar, There is no revised LTC (80) circullar is available Please provide the same for full reimbursement.
                                            Thanking you
I intend to book my LTC ticket from Delhi to Portblair. I am not getting Air Ticket for Air India as per LTC 80 rates. Kindly advise or send me the new Air India LTC 80 fair.
I am central govt. employee. I availed All India LTC for the block year 2006-09 from Hyderabad to Nathula Pass, Sikkim and back. I am entitled for air travel from Hyderabad - Kolkata - Bagdogra and back. I travelled from Bagdogra - Nathula Pass - Bagdogra by private taxi recognised by the Sikkim Toursim department. I have submitted a certificate issued by the Sikkim Toursim department that there is no public transport between Bagdogra - Nathula Pass - Bagdogra. I have paid an amount of Rs.4, 500/- for the taxi. I am eligible for travelling by taxi as my grade pay is Rs.4, 600/-. But my dept. disallowed the road journney fares completely. Please clarify whether I am entitled to get the reimbursement for the paid taxi fares.
Air India is giving only LTC 80 Scheme dtd 06. jan 2009 and the fare charged by Authorized agent Balmer lawrie is more. They have given certificate that the fuel charges etc raised as such fare is charged as per air india.I travelled during September 2009.
I am facing the same problem. I am informed that Air India has revised the LTC-80 fare in January, 2010 but you are displaying the same old fares on the web. Kindly display the revised rates on the web so that the problem being faced is settled and the government departments stop reimbursing the fare at old rates i.e. the fare that was fixed on[protected].
i am a central govt. employee. i have availed ltc from jaipur to kanyakumari and booked airindia flieght from jaipur to delhi and delhi to chennai and back coimbatore to delhi under ltc80 fare.airindia charged the following fare;-

Air India, please come forward and circulate revised LTC 80 Fare list to all Govt offices to help govt employees from this problem which is causing unnecessary finanial loss to them for non of their faults. This is a created problem which adversely reflects on your efficiency and shows how lethargic is your administration .
I am also availing kolkata to guwahati LTC-80 fare. But as per 6th Jan fare chart published by Indian airlines which is supposed to be the latest fare fare is only 2575/- whereas on 23rd March the fare is 3730/- when I asked the Indian airline operator but new fare chart is not available in the net. So Our office is following the old rate only and passing it. I am at financial loss.
can u give me the details if LTC 80 is same as LTC Q
LTC80 fare list must be updated continuously to avoid problem faced by Central Govt employee. Thank you.
                                            please inform me.
                                            1. The list of fares as published on the website of Air India, as on Dec 2008 is out dated/old and has not been updated since long. One of my collegue enquired from the Air India office Kolkata, the fares for Kolkata -Delhi Sector, he was surprised to find that the fare published in the list of the web site was almost Rs 800/- less than communicated by the Air India office, KolKata.
                                            2. May I request you to kindly help me with the latest fare under LTC-80 in KOLKATA-PORT BLAIR sector after consulting Air India office.
all central govt officials having the same problem but still now air india or ministry of finance exp-co-ordination div sleeping. simple problem they are not able to solvw then who wiil solve it
I am going to travel from Ahmedabad to Bagdogara by indian airlines. I have same problem my tickets booked under LTC Q class from Delhi - Bagdogara & same as return journey. My office restricted me as per old LTC 80 fare. I dont get the difference between LTC 80 & LTC Q class
                                            disagree
All LTC fair charged by Air India under LTC80 are fully reimbursed. Send ur bills to Principal a/c office tech. branch 4 clarification through ur PAO. u will definitely get justice
Everyone proceeding on LTC by AIR should ensure that in the ticket LTC 80 is written. If LTC 80 is written on the ticket, PAO is bound to pass the bill for the full amount.
Air India LTC-80 fares is very old. Currently Airindia are issueing tks endorsed as X class/LTC80. Therefore govt dept should refund the entire fare. However a certificate by station manager stating that X-class fares are actually LTC-80 should suffice. However appeal to Mr bhargava and Hon min of civil aviation to publish revised LTC-80 fares.
Actually the fare of Indian Airlines remains below the LTC 80 fare, if booked well in advance. Indian Airlines fare remains high during festive seasons and busy months like April - May; October, December & January.
Further, most of the central govt employees complained above didn't tell when did they travel and how many days before their journeys they had booked their tickets.
To avoid such less payment, it would be better to avoid journey on LTC during such months and to plan & book the tickets well in advance (at least 2-3 months before) like railway tickets.
Hope this may help some central govt. employees.

i am calling on this Ph no - [protected]
I have called up several times from 4:30pm onwards to Reschedule my tomorrow morning flight but employees at Indian Airlines reply everytime is "Call after 15min, server is down" Now they have started either cutting my call & keeping it down inbetween the conversation. IF i am asking for higher authority ph no, they are just cutting the call. Instead of showing 15min hope, they can say, call after 5 hrs or whatever is reality instead of just fooling customers & wasting their precious time. Customer care is to take care of customers not to just say plain lies. They should atleast have arrangement of calling customer back & show some concern.

If your server dosent start working tomorrow morning also, i should not loose money expect refund of total amount OR reschedule my ticket without any charges.

There should be some alternative for reschedule at this stage Otherwise i will loose money.
I am central govt. employee. I availed All India LTC for the block year 2006-09 from Delhi to Nathula Pass, Sikkim and back. I am entitled for air travel from Kolkata - Bagdogra and back. I travelled from Bagdogra - Nathula Pass - Bagdogra by taxi recognised by the Sikkim Toursim department. I have submitted a certificate issued by the Sikkim Toursim department that there is no public transport between Bagdogra - Nathula Pass - Bagdogra. I have paid an amount of Rs.8795/- for the taxi. My grade pay is Rs.2, 800/-. But my dept. disallowed the road journney fares completely. Please clarify whether I am entitled to get the reimbursement for the paid taxi fares.

Air India — Flight Delayed and we suffered heavily due to Air India's mistake

Customer Complaint - I (56 years old) and my wife (53 years old) were travelling from Jamnagar, Gujarat to Chennai yesterday - 10 Feb 2011. I had booked an Air India flight(IC-148) from Jamnagar to Mumbai and a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Chennai. I had given sufficient time between the two flights. The Air India which is supposed to depart from Jamnagar by 11.45 in the morning was delayed and the flight left by 13.20 in the afternoon and reached Mumbai by 14.45. Because of the delay of 1 hour 45 minutes, I was not able to board the Jet Airways flight that was scheduled to depart by 15.25. This was purely because of the fault on Air India but they totally washed their hands at the Mumbai Airport. Even the Deputy Manager refused to help us in this regard. The CITIZENS CHARTER of Air India(Domestic) mentions that the passenger will be refunded or at least helped by making alternate arrangements to reach the destination. I was refused both. I had to go through a lot of Mental Agony along with my wife who was unwell. Air India directed us to reach out to Jet Airways and we were made to pay 11300 rupees to buy new tickets to reach my destination. This is worst way to treat customers. I need a proper explanation for this and an end to such treatment of customers. I do not understand why even old people are treated so badly. I would never recommend Air India to others. In fact I would even go to the extent to make sure that all my acquaintances do not use Air India's services if I am not given a proper reply.

Indian Airlines — staff being rude and ineffective

I was to take the IC flight mumbai to goa 3pm on the 16th feb 2011, but due to being stuck in traffic for nearly an hour in dharavir I was unable to reach before the 2pmas per reporting time however I kept trying get in touch within indian airlines but before I could get to the deputy manager I had to nearly speak to 15 people in the company who were unable provide the proper information and one time gave me the number of some officer who manages wheelchair n stretchers for the airline , Indian airlines deputy manager jerline who was on duty on 16th feb 2011, time 2.30pm was rude in her manner of speaking and not willing to provide any kind of assistance , she also refused to introduce herself. She kept mocking me on whatever I was trying to say , when I tried to file a complaint they refused to give me their employee I'd or full name even if they cannot do anything the least they can do is speak decently with the customers I would like to complain for same
I am in total agreement to this rude behavior of the Staff of Indian Airlines. Since its a Government-run organization, the staff really dont care.

I had booked a ticket on 08-Feb, cancelled in on 11-Feb over their supposed Customer-care TollFree number, and it took me around more than 50 mins to cancel one ticket, in trying to convince them on the cancellation charges that got changed automatically. And to this date:22-Feb-2011, they have not refunded, and when we call the Customer-care, they are least bothered and they shout at the Customers when we ask them queries, suggesting to go their offices, as customer-care does not have the required information. When escalated, they provide the requested details.. I am not sure of what is Customer-care really mean in English, after speaking to them...

Indian Airlines — Heavy Loss due to the fault of Indian Airlines

The DOMESTIC CHARTER of Air India mentions that the passenger will be refunded or at least helped by making alternate arrangements to reach the destination. I was refused both. I have also raised this compliant with the General Manager of Customer Complaints for Air India. Even then there is no response. I really do not know where to run for justice as the Airlines seems to be least bothered. My next step would be to resort to a viral marketing of ill effects o[censored]sing Indian Airlines / Air India and would personally request people not to use this airlines at any cost.

                                            Regards,

is there any difference between ltc80 hltc fare.

                                              Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to kindly narrate the ill-treatment received from Air India officials (mainly from the station master who was holding mobile number [protected]) at BHUNTAR (Kullu) Airport during our journey, the whole issue is as below.

                                              Our booking reference is: RC6ETQ

No of passengers: 03 (2 Adults and a 07 yrs old Child)

Date of Journey: August 12th 2009

                                              From: Kullu Airport

                                              To: Delhi

I had purchased the above ticket via online through Yatra.com where I got at a lower rate and also I had booked well in advance (April 11 2009), after I purchased the tickets I had called AIRINDIA office Delhi from Qatar and confirmed the booking (as the rates were lower compared to AI site so I wanted to reconfirm the status), I was told by the Air India official that once AI issues the PNR No then there is nothing to worry and the rates are immaterial after the issuance of the ticket. I had even sent mails to AI to reconfirm the flight and to block the seats which were promptly taken care.

Before the journey I had received around 08 calls from the AI office (one or two calls from the AI Station master Kullu and others from the AI call centre, Delhi) mentioning the flight timings and flight details. AI Station master was asking us whether we are interested to prepone our journey to 10th August instead of 12th August for which I clearly refused his offer as we have other plans based on this. I received finally a call from the customer care on 11th August and the AI staff mentioned to us to reach the airport not later by 07am (strictly), she clearly said to us not to be late and based on this we reached the airport at 0630am, the counter was opened at 0700am and we were the first passenger at AI check-in gate but the “GREAT” staff at your counter rejected us and asked us to stay aside, when I asked what’s the reason the staff at the check-in counter said that just stay aside and didn’t mention anything, later after five mts again I went to the counter and then the lady told me to check with the AI station master at the airport office, then I went and spoke to the station master who also told us to wait and didn’t mention for what reason we were kept aside, let me inform you that he was very rebellious with me and when I kept on asking why we were kept on hold he didn’t even bother to give the reason/answer, then at 0740am I again went to him and told him that I have confirmation from the AI office about our booking and also showed him the mails from the AI office which was stored in my mobile, then the Station master whose tel number is mentioned above said to me that we had got the tickets at a very lower rate and they (AI) had issued other tickets on higher rates to other passengers, I was shocked to hear this from a responsible AI staff, how cheap and low a AI staff can talk/behave, if AI is keen on money then don’t offer tickets at lower rate, I was initially planning to book MDLR airlines, but I was told by one of my friend that AI is more accurate that other airlines in this sector and based on that we decided to book AI flight for which we really regret now!

The station master was very rude (more over no reaction from him) he didn’t even bother to mention us the reason for keeping us aside and treated us like illicit passengers. The station master informed me at 0745am that he needs to speak to the Flight Captain and then he will decide our fate, what does he mean by that, if there is no vacant seat then he wants us to sit on the floor or in the toilet!!!

I clearly said to him that I will not prepared to change my flight at any cost as I have other pre-planned commitments. Later the station master vanished from the site and we were allowed to board the flight by another AI staff at 0750am after giving us a bunch o[censored]nnecessary tension to myself and my family, all at the airport were staring at us as we were treated like aliens….

Even if there is any issue, AI staff should have informed us the reason for the delay in allowing us to board the flight and later at least apologize for the whole scenario rather than neglecting us, several times I went behind the station master but he was least bothered to reply/listen to us.

Funniest thing is that the flight was having vacant seats which really made us laugh after takeoff (Pathankot).

We are really shocked and surprised to learn that a airlines can treat their passengers like this!!!!

I have decided to take this issue to the higher level with AI and if required I’m prepared to complain with the Ministry of Aviation so that no other passenger is treated like this by any AI staff, now we have decided that any time in our life we will never travel in AI so that we don’t face like this situation. I have been traveling internationally (whole of Middle East, US & Europe) for the last 20 years but never experienced such situation.

I hope that you will conduct a serious investigation on the above matter, after waiting for couple of days I’ll be forwarding an official complaint with the higher authorities.

                                              Regards

                                              Ajesh Kumar

I had a Indian Airlines Flight from Lucknow which got delayed by almost 2 hours because of which I missed my connecting Indigo Flight from New Delhi.
Almost 8-9 people missed the flight inspite of assurences given by Indian Airlines Staff at Lucknow Airport before boarding the flight. Since, i had a Indigo Flight, I was forced to buy the next flight ticket which was only in the morning and that too at full rates. Moreover, I had to pay for accommodation also for the night for no fault of mine.
I expect the arlines management to understand and get my money reimbursed ASAP.

there must be a reason for this
                                                  Hi,

My grandparents (Aged 67 and 65) had an Indian Airlines flight from Mangalore to Mumbai and then a connecting flight (of Indigo Airlines) from Mumbai to Kolkata. The tickets were booked through Makemytrip.com. However the Indian Airlines flight got delayed by an hour and because of which they missed the connecting flight from Mumbai. Had the Indian Airlines flight not got delayed they could have easily taken the connecting Indigo flight to Kolkata.

I talked to the representatives from makemyrip.com and also Indian Airline staff members but there was no support from their side in arranging tickets for them from Mumbai to Kolkata. A lot of harassment was caused to my grandparents because of the entire incidence and finally they had to purchase tickets again from Mumbai to Kolkata.

Hence it's a humble request to please look into the matter and take necessary action as soon as possible.

                                                  Thanking you in advance.

                                                  Regards,

                                                  hi

I booked tickets for 4th dec 09 from hyd to mumbai (AI 864) for 2 members. The scheduled departure of flight is at 7:50 AM and it got delayed till 12:30 PM. They are not disclosing the reason for delay and did not arrange for any alternatives as well. They have a doctor appointment where they need to shift his son who is sick. Its really painful and I need compensation from them.

                                                  Thanks

I am a Frequent Flyer member of IC and can view the points balance through my log in on their website www.flyingreturns.co.in. The data on this display is FAULTY. When I went to redeem my points at the IC office, they said that the online data is unreliable since merger so the points shown do not exist correctly!! This is the wdebsite of the National Carrier of india and this is the state of affairs. What does one do for misrepresentation now?

Having Issued Boarding passes for IC146 & IC605 -- Rajkot - Mumbai, Mumbai - Delhi on 14th Nov. 2009 to Four passenger as connecting flights. The flight IC146 landed at 21.05 but the IC staff wrongly informed us that the connecting flight IC605 to Delhi is already left and contact duty manager at the Airport.
The IC605 for Delhi was not actually left at 21.00 hours, it left at least 40 minutes after the scheduled time.
The IC staff could had easily transferred us to IC605, but reluctantly they pushed us into a mess just to avoid a little effort at their part.
And then They connected us to Jet Konnect flight which finally left Mumbai at 12.20 in night giving a 3.20 hours nightmare at the Mumbai Airport.
No Food being provided by the IC staff as there was no food available in the Jet Konnect Flight.
My Driver had to wait at the Delhi Airport for at least 4 hours in the chilling night.
It became a full fledged mess created solely by the IC staff
I just could not understand if YOU cannot connect to the passengers to the connecting flights why YOU CALL THE FLIGHTS AS CONNECTING FLIGHTS AND WHY YOU ISSUE A CONNECTING BOARDING PASS., ...
DO YOU HAVE ANY ANSWER TO THIS MESS AND TORTURE BEING FORCEFULLY GIVEN BY AIR INDIA.

On 6th of August 2008, i have a flight from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai at 2:15 P.M. (IC- 169, passenger name- Kishan Kedia) and a connecting flight from Mumbai to Sharjah at 9: 45 P.M. by Air Arabia ( G9402) .

The flight from Bhubaneswar got delayed by more than 3 hours, it took off from Bhubaneswar at 5:50 P.M.

I brought this to the notice of Indian Airlines Authority (Mr. Dasgupta) when, I was in Bhubaneswar airport. He along with other staff assured me, they have communicated about my connecting flight details to Indian airlines authority, Mumbai and they will make sure that I will catch the flight from Mumbai to Sharjah.

I reached Mumbai and reported at 9:15 P.M. at the counter of Airabrabi, the Indian airlines official (Mr. Venugopal) told that the counter is closed and he cant help me anymore. I went to the senior Mr. Rakesh Arora (entry pass officer), he opolised for this, but said, he CANT do ANYthing. He said, they dont have any information from Bhubaneswar authority and cant do anything.

I demanded since, the Indian airlines flight is delayed, I should be compensated for my onward journey to Sharjah as, I lost my flight of AirArabia, because of Indian Airlines.

The authorities did not cooperated at all, they didnot even called the Bhubaneswar indian airlines staff, despite my request. They did not listen to me, infact told me to go ahead to bring the matter in the newspaper, they also told they are not concerned for my inconvenience at all.

I have very DISSATISFIED with the Indian Airlines carriers service. I appeal everybody NOT to use such airlines in future strictly.

In the end, I losed the fare paid for the ticket from Mumbai to Sharjah by Airarabi and have paid additional fare for purchase of new ticket form Mumbai to Sharjah apart from inconveniance and harrassment caused by Indian airlines staff both at Bhubaneswar and Mumbai aiport.

I appeal strict action should be taken against the authorities on duty on 6th August present from 2:00 P.M. upto 12:oo P.M. for causing inconvenience, false promises and harrassment at both the airports and I be reimbursed for purchasing additional ticket.

                                                          regards
                                                          kishan kedia
Same thing happened to me too. Indian Airlines should be avoided completely.
