We applied passport on[protected] in Guntur passport office on the name of Venkata naga charanmayie with file no : Z 510971 /w. At the time of applying, my brother is staying in tenali only. But, unexpectdly, he got job and went to Hyd a week before the enquiry to be held. So, that people told us that they will redirect the enquiry to HYD and let us know the status. Till now, Nothing was happend. At the same time, application status is also not getting through online.

Dear Sir,

My name is SRISAILAM TODETI. I have applied for passport renewl on 07th Feb'11. The police verification is completed and the Police Report status on "AP Police department" website is showing as "Report has been despatched on 07th April 2011 with Ref.no. 235 and sl.no. 49".

But till today, the passport status on website is showing as "Police report has not been received".

May i know exact status and the date of dispatch to me?? I need to apply for a VISA and the travel is planned in June 1st week.

I have applied for the passport on 7th Oct’2011 and my file no. is DLH-A064502. But till date I have not received my passport. My police report is also clear. Since long time, it is showing “Police Report is clear. Application is under process”. I want to go aboard after 2 weeks for some important work, so want my passport asap. Kindly do the needful.

Grievance: I have applied for a passport in Kolkata on 07.07.2011. On 10th August'11, verification from local police station Serampore was completed and then completed by Chinsurah HQ and in both the cases the police reports were OK.

I visited both the DIB offices and it is confirmed by both the offices that the Police verification report of mine is complete and OK and finally was sent to Passport office, Kolkata on 16.11.2011.

But still in Passport Application status, it is showing "Police Report is incomplete and is being examined":

I have requested through mail many times but it is really a matter of regret that neither received any response nor my passport.

My son stays in US and needs me there urgently. Once again request to please arrange to issue my passport without any further delay.

I recived a letter from chennai passport office on 9/4/2011 that shows my DOCUMENT GET EXPIER,

11/4/2011(Monday) i went to chennai PASSPORT OFFICE at 11.AM & subbmit again my new document, i ask them what document you want i ready to give it today and finished it today,
I ask again the officer i already 4 times came to your office your telling same answer within in 2 days your getting passport,
After the officer told me to wait up to 5.PM for checking the original status of my passport,

Then the officer told me my passport is deliver before 18/4/2011 to me, otherwise you come to passport office again on 20th April 11,

I dont know when they are issue my passport and how long time takes sir?????

I travel daily from Ghatkopar To Belapur.The daily travel to CBD Belapur is horrible in peak hours.
Now a days one more trouble is added in list.
Recently me & my friend is just talking on Kurla Platform waiting for Panvel Train.As train starts suddenly a boy hanging on door hits my friend hardly & went away with train.No policeman is there to catch or punish him.Local passengers give my friend some water to drink.They told me "aisa to ab bahut bar ho raha hain"
I cant understand what the Railway Police is doing !!!!!! There is no one to take care of such things

DEAR SIR,

I had applied for passport on 7th January,2010 vide application reference No.B 001123 from Mumbai. On 20th April Ie. after more than 100 days i had received mobile alert that my passport has been despatched by speed post vide regn no.0718 on 20.04.2010.Th same information has also been updated in the passport status site. But, to my surprise I have still not received my passport in my hand till this moment (23/04/10 , 13.15 hrs.) when speed post is supposed to be reaching in maximum 72 hrs to even far off places. Ironically my postal address is about 1.5 kms away from the passport issuing office. Please let me know how to track the despatched passport.

This is to state that I applied for new passport in Feb. 2010, and am yet to receive my passport. Upon enquiry at the passport office, they mentioned that they have not received the response of Police enquiry, whereas police enquiry has been done on my behalf so early, I do not know, why the police officers are not sending the report to the passport office.

I could never understand the mind set of police officers, why they are not sending the reports relating to my passport. No one is interested in helping/rendering the due service to the public, despite taking the money for that.

I explained in detail, I got a call from nearest police station (Shastri Nagar P/S, Jodhpur) and they told me to come there with two photos. Next day, I went there and they gave me two blank form and ask for signed by two neighbours. While submitting the signed paper, they demanded some money to forward the said documents at Jaipur passport office and I gave desired money to them.

After few days I got another call from another police station (Jalori Gate P/S, Jodhpur) of the same city in whose jurisdiction I reside before 20 years. They also told me to come there. Next day, I went there and again they gave me two blank form and ask for signed by two past neighbours (20 years old neighbours). While submitting the signed paper, they also asked for some money to forward the said documents at Jaipur passport office saying “Police to Janta ke Sahyog se hi chalti hai bhai”.

After few more days I got third call from another police station (Pipar City P/S, Pipar, Dist: Jodhpur) of my home town in whose jurisdiction my parents were residing before 35 years (As I was born in Jodhpur). They also told me to come there. It is not possible for me to go there, as that place is 80 kilometres away from my home. Next day, I made a call to my uncle at pipar and told him to go to said police station. He went there and again they gave him two blank form and ask for signed by two past neighbours (35 years old neighbours). My uncle is unable to sign the said forms as no one is known to us as we were residing there before 35 years.

Now my passport file is with pipar police station and my passport is ???. “Don’t know what will happen to my passport”.

It has been 3 month submitted my application form please suggest me what to do.

I would like to suggest you write an RTI application and submit it to nearby GPO (General Post Office) with the fee of Ten rupees.
There are following steps.

1) Write an RTI application on a plain paper [ You can take help from the sample application attached with this mail. ]
2) Photo copy it.
3) Visit Head Post Office nearby and submit the application. Get photocopy stamped by post office & take this copy with you.
4) Now relax. With in one/two weeks your passport should be with you.

Its a simple effective step. Just try this at least once only before paying bribe to any govt official.

Respected sir,
I undersigned Nair Rahul Ragunandanan son of Ragunandanan nair permanent residence (b-103 lodha apt cst road kalina SantaCruz(e) Mumbai -98) studied in Mumbai up to 10th and passed ssc.I have done diploma in Electronic and Communication from S.A Rajas Polytechnic College, rajanagar ,vadakangulam-627116 tirunelveli district tamilnadu.I decided to study abroad for higher education degree in engineering ,I have registered my self for sat and toefl an entrance exams which will be held on Jan 26-sat and Feb. 24-toefl., I have to appear for the test and for going abroad i require my passport.I was holding a passport which is expired, against that I have applied a fresh passport along with my previous expired one.The passport application submitted to the regional passport office Mumbai under the reference no-e024304 dated -27-jun-2007.The police verification for the said application also completed by the police authority and submitted to the passport authority, unfortunately the authority didn’t grant passport facility after the police report .They said that they required another one report from my college, where I completed and passed the diploma engineering(sa raja polytechnic college vadakangulam:627116 tirunelveli district,tamilnadu).I approached concerned authority for the passport more than four times but the authority always replied that they haven't received police report from SA Rajas Polytechnic College, vadakangulam: 627116 tirunelveli district, tamilnadu.Now the application is pending with passport authority since last six months. Still there is no development due to which I lost one opportunity for higher education and if I miss this opportunity my one year will be wasted.Meanwhile I hereby request you to please do the needful at your earliest for getting my passport and going for the higher education.

I am Dr. Sachin Soni, File No. A011784, applied for passport in June 2007. When I applied, I was in Guna M.P.with my parents. I mentioned my parental address in passport form. As I am a doctor by profession I got an offer from Greater Nodia U.P. in July So I came there . I was sent my new address proof in Nov.2007.
Then my file referred to U.P. passport Office in 5th Jan. 2008 and I got a letter from Bhopal Passport office for contact to the Ghaziabad Passport office . But they told me that my file could not receive in Ghaziabad Passport office till 4th Feb.2008.
I want the passport as soon as possible because I should go Germany in March second week for Medical Exam . This is the request you to kindly look into the matter and does the needful so that I can get the passport.

i have applied for passport in august still i m not getting my passport,since 4 months is is showing in internet that you will get passport within a week.every varification is done.i have applied from lucknow in 2007/august my ref id is -A113584

I applied for passport for my daughter, age 5 months, on 25/02/2008 in Regional Passport Office, Chennai. In the inquiry I was told to include spouse name in both the parents passport so that no need to bring the child from my home town. So I, first, applied for spouse name addition in the parents passports thru miscellaneous(form2) category on 04/02/2008. When I got back the my passport I found my wifes name was wrongly wrote by the RPO Staff. So I had to go to RPO for the next day to get it correct. Then on 25th Feb '08, after three counter chenkings of the documents provided along with the application, they took my application and gave me the recipt with file number and key number and with the despatch date mentioned on 29th of Feb 08. However, till Mar 03, 08 neither the passport was delivered nor any notification was give. I have been checkin the online enquiry which says "Your File is Under Process" since 27th Feb 08. So today, 04/03/08, morning at 08:00 am I went to Regional Passport Office,Chennai to check the status. The security officer at wrok aske all to stand in the line so we obeyd, but the RPO staffs at the inquiry counter came around 10:30 and started to see the inquires. In my turn I was redirected to Deputy Passport Officer who checked my issue and asked me to come by 2 PM today. So again I went to passport office on 1:30 and started to stand in line. Around 3:45 PM security staffs called the names of the applicants and asked to go and stand in line for Deputy Passport Officer who attended the applications very slowly and he attended me at 6 PM. After asking my issue again he saw my file and found some mistakes like "cirminal, conviction, dinied, revoked are not filled" and asked me to fill those columns and I did as he told. They after again he verified and this time he told Annexure H wasnt attached so bring it then we will process your application. I, after a day long wait in line, was totally frustated by this response.

I agree that necessary documents must be attached with application. But my concerns are...

1. Before they accept my application and open file number and gave me recipt three checking were done by the regional passport office staffs and in the billing counter also they have one round of checking the documents. What were they doing with out noticing this bug and update me so that I could have attached that document while applying.

2. What is the use of online status inquiry. How much it takes to put a line or two mentioning this which make all those waiting worth.

3. Why such high profile officers are illogically finding bug like criminal and conviction record details for 5 month old baby?

4. India is in transition state from developing country to developed country. During this period govermnent staffs like these are not cooperative and people friendly.

Will this change?

Though i dont know lodging this complain will help me or not but still hoping that complain reaches the right ears i am raising my voice. My younger sister applied for passport in nov. 2007, file ref. no. being A040432, but the online status is :- It is to regret that due to unavoidable circumstances the despatch of Passport has been delayed and will now be despatched in a week's time. Her police verification and all was over by dec, but now its continuously showing the negligience of indian passport office. As against this the passport of her former and later ref. no. has been cleared. She is a student and so she is loosing quite an amount of proffesional oppurtunities because of this delay and negligience of passport authority of india. Please help me if someone is listening to this.

actualy passport office is full of thives and thugs u can get passport in a week i[censored] r ready to pay the suwidha sulk to these thugs. For commom man i[censored] want a passport in a genuine and right way u will not get the passport after one yr also.My recomendation things should be privatised so that people working there are more responsible and not like govt employee who r like paracite eating away the hard money of tax payers.

Indian Passport — iam not recieved passport

now also iam not received my passport.

Hi there,

Just a nosy observer from the UK. I am amazed at the resilient all of you show. Surely, it is your rights that these officials are impending on. Whenever there are silly political issues you have mass obstruction of public life but, issues of concern, societal impoverishment, malpractice, corrtuption etc doesn't heed in the media as much. I watch with amazement the Indian news channels, apart from some news on NDTV most news broadcasts are absolutely news worthless. If India is to become a developed nation it needs a total social revolution to rid the mindset of long established "ek haat do, aur ek haat lo", give in one hand, get in the other.

I feel very proud to be an Indian due to the rich culture, tradition and heritage that we possess, but feel disheartened of poor governance in a country that has so much to show the world.

All of you experiencing such malpractice should stand up for your rights, but please don't go destroying properties or causing violence that affects innocent by-standers.

You should infact be organising properly constructed pressure groups throughout the country to fight malpractice, maladministration & corruption or any other practices that has detrimental effect on accountability, poor service and poor governance. As citizens of the worlds largest democratic country, all of you have a duty to serve and preserve the nations integrity.

If anyone is familiar with the French revolution then you will recall that the corrupt monarchy was eradicted and new form of governance was introduced. French politcs is particularly interesting, in that although operating in a democratic process, the French policies are dominated by political philosophers rather than policy makers.
Power of the citizens are paramount in any political process or governance. Change can only come when citizens are empowered and work together for a better tomorrow.

Finally, the post from Rajesh Khanna Chandrasekaran, above was particularly interesting as it just confirms alot of what I said. When you deal with untrained staff together with lack of accountability, service provision will be hindered.
