Refundable deposit not returned back after discharge

My Wife got admitted for a gall bladder removal surgery in Jan25 . At the time of admission a refundable deposit of 20000 was charged. It was informed to me that after the discharge ( Meaning once the bill is settled), I need to fill a form with bank details and the refundable deposit will be processed in 45 days, as Insurance company takes 45 days to settle the cashless hospitalization from back end with hospital.

. I am writing to bring to your attention a series of significant issues I encountered during the processing of my insurance claim at Jehangir Hospital. I believe it is crucial to address these concerns promptly to ensure a smoother experience for other patients and to maintain the hospital's reputation for efficiency and professionalism.

1. **Delay in Claim Submission:**
On 5th Jan, 2024, the final bill for my treatment was submitted to the insurance desk around 4 p.m. However, even after 5:20 p.m., it had not been sent to @Bmc Mediclaim When I visited the desk, I discovered that the claim was eventually sent at 5:25 p.m., along with another patient's bill, which contained their claim number under my patient's name.

2. **Incorrect Claim Number:**
Upon contacting Paramount, I was informed that my claim could not be processed due to an incorrect claim number sent by Jehangir Hospital. Despite my visit to the insurance head, Mr. Rohit More, a new claim was raised around 7 p.m. with another incorrect claim number. It took multiple interventions to ensure the correct claim number was quoted, resulting in approval around 8 p.m.

3. **Dispute in Tariff and Billing Issues:**
Subsequently, a dispute arose between Paramount and Jehangir Hospital regarding the tariff. I was asked to pay an extra amount, which, as per the letter received at 8 pm. from Paramount, should not be payable by the insurer. The billing department did not initiate contact with the insurance department to resolve the issue promptly, leaving me in a difficult position. Despite my attempts, the insurance department was closed, and I was compelled to pay the extra amount around 8.30 pm.

4. **Mental Harassment and Request for Apology and Compensation:**
As a patient undergoing painful chemotherapy, the prolonged and problematic insurance claim process has caused immense mental harassment. I believe I deserve an apology for the inconvenience caused and request fair compensation for the additional stress and financial burden this situation has imposed on me.

I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but the extensive delay and errors in claim processing have significantly affected my overall experience at Jehangir Hospital. I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and implement measures to prevent similar incidents.

Altaf from Paramount tried to help me even after his shift was over but the billing department was not ready to listen to him.
I have attached an incorrect bill imposed on me and an authorization letter related to a traffic dispute. Please let me know if you need additional information.
I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution.

    It’s almost a month completed the patient is discharge still the refundable amount not received e even there is no response on mail which was sent

    I don’t understand what kind of pathetic service is this? Don’t you people have basic responsibility?? Who is the responsible person for this? Why there is a delay to refund my amount?? Why can’t you people follow basics???

      Supriya at the reception of Dr Ajit Mehta's OPD was very rude, unprofessional, unsupportive and un co operative, which is hampering the standard of the hospital, i never expected this behaviour of a staff at this hospital, its high time hospital management should take serious action against the staff and penalise her for her unstandard and unprofessional behaviour.

          I had a transaction on 15th April, first transaction of 900 got failed but got deducted from my end. I did another payment of 900/- on the same day.

          As per bank, both the transactions are successful and credited to the hospital's account.
          Please find the reference numbers below.

          Failed transaction reference number[protected].

          Highly responsible and rude staff.

          This mail will be forwarded further to higher authorities as well.

          I keep calling then and they keep my call either on hold or disconnect.

          No refund status no enquiry nothing.

          Too bad, atleast bother to respond. Shame on Jehangir staff.

            I had got admitted on 24-Dec-2021 for a surgery. I was asked to pay Rs 40, 000 (in 2 parts of 20, 000 each) for covering non-claimable expenses that fall outside insurance coverage. The receipt provided did NOT mention the expense category. The Surgery happened on 25-Dec-21, and I was discharged on 27-Dec. The refund for unused expenses on one of the deposit was provided after few days. The refund of 15, 000 on the other deposit is pending even today (06-May-22). I have visited the hospital's revenue department several times, and called up multiple people, but this matter is pending even today. Here are the details.

              Today, as my mother was facing severe stomach ache we came to jehangir hospital's emergency department wherein she was advised to do a sonography and the same was to be forwarded to a gastroenterologist. Even after talking to the gastroenterologist of the emergency situation he went on a round on the top floor. We waited for an hour with the sonography reports. When asked to the receptionist for an appointment in an emergency case for Thursday she denied and said that the doctor won't be able to check you as he has already given other appointments and that he is a senior doctor and nobody can argue with him. It takes 3 months for people to get an appointment with him.

                My mother is admitted in Jahangir Hospital from past 6 days.

                I came here with the expectation for good care and proper treatment although it is highly expensive hospital but after seeing situation here i am very disappointed with the services and treatment, patients are calling for help (ward sister, brother and other supporting staff) but nobody is bother to look after.
                Every alternate day a lady use to come from billing dept. saying that your bill has gone up and pay more deposit. 50k+60k+60k..., without any delay I have paid every time but the hospital staff and doctors are only helping the hospital to make more money rather helping and treating patients.

                My mother is very weak and she is unable to go to washroom, I was calling for help but no they use to come after 2-3 hours that after calling them many a time...doctor use to come and just write some blood test, scan, USG, CT...etc that's it...even I sure he is not checking all the reports...
                Hospital test and scanning charges are depend on which type of room you are in. General rates are lower and private rates are high for the same test or Scan.

                What is this...I am totally disappointed and now afraid of my mother's health...

                Request to all, please do not choose This hospital for the treatment of dear ones or for you...

                  This hospital have good doctors but worst billing system. My daughter Ayushi M. was admitted in this hospital. We got 70K as estimated price with private AC room but At the time of admission room was not available and they pushed me for higher category and just 500 rs, room rent increased my total billing by 45% (1 Lac). This is completely business as you will not get anytime your require category and they always push for higher. Apart from this, They charge 10% administrative expenses as inflation charges. This charge is not acceptable by insurance company. Third they charge you admission charges even you admit "N" of times with registration. Fourth They offer 10% discount to your insurance company by back door. I tried to raise this issue with senior management Mr. Fadke, Dr. Mahesh and Manisha Bobde but did not get any answer. Please do not go to this hospital.

                    JEHANGIR HOSPITAL PUNE IS A HOAX.

                    in 2010 my dad was admitted to jehangir hospital for bypass surgery. cardiologist who did angiography said bypass would cost 2.2 lac for private room package. the final bill came to 3.26 lac. after complaining the incident they decreased the bill amount to 2.86 lacs. after almost 3 years i revisited jehangir for my mom’s annual check up. during gyneac consultation doctor suggested to perform total abdominal hysterectomy and said the cost would go upto 65k. after the surgery i got the bill for 1.32 lac. this has became a fashion in jehangir hospital -doctors first would tell you the false fees so that patient doesnt go anywhere and gets admitted. And one day prior to surgery, billing department would hike the charges stating doctors arent aware of the cost and demands 100% deposit against surgery and room charges. one staff even said "no full deposit no surgery"

                    I am covid patient at Zehangir hospital, bed no. 36 and bed no. 35-38 have same given same treatment, but one is charged 80K rs and other estimated @2 lakhs, is it fair, same remdesivir, same treatment, CT and blood test but charges different.
                    How is it possible.
