Landlord did not pay rent back as we cancelled shifting to the place

We have rented the property of Puneet Talwar- 3/220, IInd Floor, Subhash Nagar and have paid advance in amount of 13500. A day before shifting, when we went to the house to see the property and get the cleaning done, we observed lots of damage and cleanliness issues for which landlord wants us to pay. I have asked him to pay as we did not shifted to property due to which we had a dispute. We cancelled the deal and agree that he will pay us 8200 as he has paid 4k for rent agreement online.

Please avoid this home. Owner is a very money crazy old woman. She forces her son to give excuses and withhold as much security deposit as they can.
They don't honor anything written in the agreement. He lied that he is not getting anyone to move in and took around a month's extra rent though I gave ample notice time. He also asked me to get interior and exterior painted. After some argument I accepted. Then he refused to let my painters paint and instead asked for the money. I lost around 20k in excess to him.

The LandLord's Name is Seema Khubani w/o Mr. Ved Prakash Khubani.
They have a building with tenants living on the ground floor, 2nd Floor and 3rd Floor.
He has fitted fake electricity meters and the electricity bill which he charges is monthly and that is also very escalated.
The consumption o[censored]nits is far more than normal.
He is cheating on all the tenants.

I rented a house with the address of K-187, Jeevan Nagar, 4th floor, New Delhi-110014 from 16th of March, 2015. I moved in the house on 22nd of March and paid half month rent for it. I also paid one months advance as a deposit. I have a rent agreement stating the details. Now, within this two months of residing in the flat it is already twice that the water motor stop functioning. Each time our landlord ask for money stating that he provided the motor in working condition. We got the information from the plumber who repairs the motor that this motor has been faulty from a long time and he has been fixing it every time. When we convey the same to the landlord he refused to agree and said we have to pay. Now it is an extra expense on our part every month for around Rs.400-700/- depending on the amount of repair. Now we are at a fix as to what to do with such kind of landlord who thinks they have done a favor by providing house on rent for which we give money and harass us for money even for basic maintenance such as water supply. Is there any way to resolve this? I do not wish to move out immediately because I have financial obligations and I am expecting. It has become a mental trauma to survive without water in this summer heat and as well extra expense for buying water when motor trips and paying extra of fixing the motor.

I was staying in dlf phase 4 in rent. I gave proper 30 days notice before vacating the house. Now the landlord is not reciving my calls and not even reverting back to the messages if I ask for security. And if he does he starts abusing and speaks in a very bad tone. I spoke to the property dealer several times about it and he jus gives another date everytime. I don't have the rent agreement with me but do have the recording of the conversation that we had over the phone and the messages. By taking them as evidence can I file a complain against him . ????

I'm currently serving my notice period at current house, and the vacating date is 15th May. My weird Landlord wants to use my house from 4th May to 7th May for an upcoming function on 6th May. His relatives would come and use the house, toilet and other facilities kept in this house which are my own property...! I have given him timely indications of my leaving date and he ensured he would adjust with these days. Since yesterday, he has turned the plates and has been harassing me to either vacate the house or allow his relatives to come n share the house with my Family...!!! Disgusting.. Pathetic.. Unethical Jerk is what I can say. I'm helpless, I have a 2 Year old son with whom should I adjust and move ahead in such embarrassing situation...!!

We were living in a 3BHK flat in Lokhandwala Complex, Kandivali East, Mumbai.
We had given a security deposit of 2.5 lacs. However, our landlord returned only a lac and a half of it claiming that we caused their flat damage.
We accepted that there was one drawer that came off and we offered to pay for that
But they withheld 1 lac rupees anyway. There was no other damage except that one drawer.

Landlord security deposit harassment

Landlord took security deposit of 19250 and upon leaving the house returned only 4780. Please find attached the bill.
He has taken money for Collin's bottle also for Rs 70.
Watchman security is 133 rs per floor and has been confirmed by watchman himself that security is 400 per house and the house where we were staying has 3 floors. but he has taken security of rs 800 for 2 months. For 2 BHK house, civil labour and cleaning, he has taken rs. 2500. Please view the bill. We do not think that the bill he gave us is justified in any regard. I don't expect anything from him now. But please beware of such dacoit landlords before taking house on rent. The house is 2610, sector 23 gurgaon

Simply say i will file FRI against you and take original copy with you. Do not give any other maintainace charge otherthan mention in agreement.

FRAUD ALERT : Please beware before taking the House 468 in Sector 22 Gurgaon.
The Landlord Mr and Mrs.Nigam,are a fraud couple.
The landlord insisted that his wife does not have a PAN card and so the house cannot be given on company lease.
We took the house on direct rent.
The house had severe plumbing issues starting from the very first day.The owner was not at all interested in getting them fixed and insisted we get it fixed.
We did all the fixes and went out of station for a weekend.When we came back the house was robbed.
We immediately decide to vacate the house. Nigam and his wife have charateristic severe behavioral issues.They take advantage of their old age and innocent and soft spoken attitude.
Believe me never trust them.Once they take your money you will never see it again.
On leaving the house we just wanted our security deposit to be given back.
We bore all the damages that happened during the robbery and wanted Nigam to refund the remaining amount.
He said he will do it but now when we asked him for the remaining amount he said there was some problem with the tap and he has decided to get a better tap and so won't refund us the remaining amount.
They are very big cheats,liers.

With due regards I have to state, We are the renter of Mr. B K sharma , Ploat no- 954/4708, Near metro residency, Beherashahi, Nayapali , 751012 bhubaneswar.
We are staying here since 3yrs and he is taking room rent with 5rs/unit. I think it is not commercial charges at all. I want to request to Electricity board to check his electricity meter and bill also, and if he is wrong then fine him .

Harassment by Landlord

I am a rentor at bhiwandi.
My landlord dont give me any agreement papers this is because of he dont have registry of home.
After completion of 3 month he is asking me to leave rooms so what can we people do.

Landlord Not giving back the Security

I have a complaint against my landlord, I have paid him a security of 9,000 which he is not ready to pay back he is just paying 2000rs back. Landlord not giving security back — Landlord not giving security back
Hi,Me(Puneet Mehta) and my friend(Ambarish Kumar Singh) working with MindTree Ltd, Bangalore had entered into a rent agreement with Mr. B Basavraju of house no. 683, 20th main, Padmanabhnagar, Bangalore 560070 on 1st June 2008.
My friend relocated to Sweden for his project in November. I have given a notice to landlord on 5th January. I have not paid the rent since December 2008. There is a clause in the agreement where it says, the lease will be terminated if the tenant doesn't pay the rent for 2 months consecutively and dues deducted from security and paid back.
It's 18th February now, and I want to leave the house by 28th Feb 2009 and my landlord is not agreeing to pay the security back by saying the agreement is till end of 11 months i.e till May 2009.

cheating of services promised

Hi,
I have taken a furnished 1 Room Kitchen on rent at Poonam Nagar, Andheri East. The Landlord had promised to provide a bed and repair the TV which was not working properly. Its been more than a month and I have not been given the bed yet even after repeated request. The TV also doesnt work even after requesting for so many times they have not done anything. Also, after I took the house the room is getting flooded with rain water through the walls, I have asked them to repair it so many times but they have not done anything.
Please advise what steps needs to be taken, I had taken the house through an agent whom i have paid brokerage. I have requested him also to get it done but everyone seems to ignore after they have taken the money. I feel totally cheated and harrassed.

Harassed by landlord
I have been living in a rented flat for the last 1 year. Now, in the previous month i have decided to terminate my agreement as I am getting company accommodation to live in. For the accommodation where I am now living, i am paying a heavy rent and I have given more than 5lacs refundable security deposit, which has been financed by the bank I am working. I have an agreement between me and my landlord that at the end of the term of the lease, he would pay me back the amount of more than 5 lacs to me, and I would return it back to the bank where I am working. But after termination of the lease, my landlord doesn't seem to give us any guarantee of the security deposit, on the contrary he is threatening us that he can write off the full deposit, if we ask for it several times. We just wanted an affirmation that he would pay us back by the date of the termination of lease, which he doesn't intend to give. What sort of action can we take against this person. To make matters worse, the accommodation that I would get from my company might be scrapped if I do not return back the money. please help!!!!!

Gulshan properties(Broker) New Friends Colony New Delhi. Every 4-5 months
he ask the tenants to empty the house since his son from UK is coming to stay.
Every time they increase the rent for new tenants and share with broker the amount
broker get for finding new tenants. They refused to give he rent receipts when the tenant
ask for income tax declaration in his office.Because they are paying income tax for it.
Please look into this fraud otherwise they will repeat with every new tenant.

Water crisis
I am residing in a rented house.I have paid a Rs.1,00,000/- as advance.Before signing the deal and during negotiation I repeatedly insisted on smooth water supply.Our Landlord Shashibhusan Reddy promised time and again that he has a sump and water suppy is uniterrupted.As I have a small kid and he needs washed bottles for milk and auqagaurd pure water, we insisted upon uniterruped water suppy.But from day one we are being humiliated and harrashed by this person.Its been tough 10 months.We have requested humbly a lot many times but our pleades where just unheard.He has 5 tenants and he himself resides in the same building and there is only one sump to fulfill all of our needs.I suggested him to cut down number of tenants or put a borewell or refund my entire advance.Any of these could well decrease our mental trauma.Sometimes even when there would be water in the tank,he will close the valve from inside and stop the water suppy.We are facing a lot of problem.He will abuse us whenever he gets any chance.We are in a fix as my kid is just 2 years and shifting everytime is very difficult.I would like to get some help in this regard at the earliest.

I am software engineer and staying in 3BHK at KANAKA NAGAR, bangalore. I took this 3BHK flat on rent in Aug 2006 with security deposit as 75000 Rs and vacating by June 09 after giving 1 month notice as per agreement. Now landlord is trying to extract as much as possible money from security deposit. Can you help me how to get security deposit by legal way?

There should be amendment in the law and such cases should be treated as case of 420 against these landlords and house owners who don keep their words.
Why don't you consult a lawyer. If you have made the rent in time - and you are sure you have not done anything wrong -then approach the Court with your clean hands. It is a long process- but then, one has to do it to end the "landlord" raj. You are not a refugee- to are a citizen of this country and you have a right against exploitation.
Or else if yu have a friend in the media- tell him to publize it.
Go to the landlord's house and if there are tenants there tell them that they better be careful. Don't sit idle - as you have rightly said- it is your hardearned money.

I have a similar complaint. My husband, who is disabled, and has cancer, and I, are Seniors, and we have been unsuccessful in getting back $2300 deposit from an unscrupulous landlord. It is said he is in Argentine, South America. Through a third party, this man is alledging he is not returning our deposit because he had to pay $1700 to do repairs in the duplex. This is a bold faced lie!. We have pictures and more than 6 witnesses who will verify the condition this unit was left. He is just corrupt and unfortunately, we do not have money to take him to court. What are our alternatives? We need our money.
Bottom Line, How do you get back money and who is ready, willing and totally committed to doing the right thing to represent you? I 'm angry, not to forget outraged because all I have been given is lip service from all the agencies who are supposedly there to help! We have been robbed and there is no one to advocate on our behalf. Only in America!!!

Issue of Rent Receipts
Hi,
I have rented a place in Delhi and paying Rs. 6, 500 per month for the rent. My landlord refuses to give me rent receipts and does not accept payment through cheque. This makes me helpless and I cant get tax exemption for my HRA. Could you please let me know what all I can do?

non refund of security amount
we are a group of 7 MBA students, pursuing MBA from ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL, GURGAON
we had taken a house floor on rent in palam vihar in october 2008 from the owner Mr. S.K. Randhawa on rent amount of rs.15000 and REFUNDABLE Security of Rs. 30000, and we vacated the house after 4 months in feb 2009.
and after repeated calls and reminders, the owner is now not returning our security and threatening us in the name of some police officials that he will have us behind the bars.
we are very scared and require help. please help us in the matter
